Update: M33-4!
- galaxy.prx was changed to a new version that is giving problems with slow memory sticks. Reverted back to previous versions. This didn’t only affect decrypted isos running in NP9660 mode.
Just when you thought Dark_AleX was gone, he’s back on. 3.80 M33-3 and compatible PopsLoader (PSX/PSOne emulator) has arrived. Need I say more?
3.80 M33-3 changelog:
- Fixed synchronization issue that plugins check code caused in PSN NP9660 original games (fixes 0×80010013 error)
- Added a couple of libs to the nids resolver.
- Added some internal changes required by incoming 3.80 popsloader plugin.

you put them in their own folder in PSP\GAME
i done that i put the folder in psp/game then it not work then i made my own folder in psp/game and put them in there and still the same i gotta be doing something wrong
hm. i havent done pops since 3.40 oe. mustve changed it up. i think u put it in seplugins/popsloader but im not entirely sure. sorry i cant help more
scratch that. r u putting all the games in the same folder? u gotta put one game per folder and name each game EBOOT.PBP. the folder names can be wuterver u ant them to be
for example, if u hav ff7 and ff8, u should have ms0:\PSP\GAME\ff7\EBOOT.PBP and ms0:\PSP\GAME\ff8\EBOOT.PBP
if youre doing that already make sure the popsloader plugin is turned on cuz its disabled by default when u first put it on ur psp

i had 3.71m33-4 and dint have this popsloader thing anywhere on my memorystick for that update… is pops NEEDED for the phat psp to run ps1 games?

Okay guys, if anyone can help me, I’d like to talk over AIM if at all possible. I’m getting a new PSP phat today, but it has Sony firmware 3.50 installed. I’ve heard that you can still install CFW with a normal memory stick and Lumines or something like that, but I have no idea how to do it! If anyone out there has this information and can help me, I’d much appreciate the gesture! My AIM name is Sflame1230. Please help me out! Thanks!

Follow that link to a YouTube video of a guy showing you how to make a Pandora battery. It’s all software related, and takes only a couple of minutes, and blam-o, you can downgrade to 1.5. From there, install 3.52-4 M33 and update it to 3.8. From there, update it to 3.8-4.
I know it sounds hard, but, it’s really not. No matter what you do, get your downgrader started first, that way, even if you screw up, you can always go back and fix it.

you can either dowgrade with unpatched Lumines UMD, use guide here http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-firmware-guides/17499-guide-how-downgrade-3-10-3-50-1-50-a.html or you need Pandora battery (either borow it from someone or borrow hacked PSP and create it)
No, all they have to do is follow the link I gave them, to a Youtube video. The Youtube video shows you how to Pandora your battery, and switch it back to a regular battery, fairly easy.

The battery check really annoys me. Any way to bypass it? I remember something like L + traingle used to work but I’ve tried that and other different combinations.

I just updated to m33-4. THANK YOU DA!!! one problem i got is i tried to use network update from m33-2… it downloaded m33-4 instead of m33-3 first. so i removed the update and manually downloaded m33-3 and installed it then i used net update for m33-4. but yeah the updater notified me of a later update.
haha! read some news u can use network update now instead of doing that. also u didnt need to go from 2 to 3 to 4. u can go from 2 to 4.
At this rate 3.80M33-10 will be out in approx. 50 min. lol

iv tryed Resident evil 2 and 3 and still no luck! final fantasys dnt work nothings really working with this update!!! whta waste of time!!!
I tried RE3 and it worked all i did was load the EBOOT.PBP with the KEYS.BIN file and i think that is the answer, you need the KEYS file to make it work. but when it went to select the what pops to use i just selected “use original from flash” and it works fine. only thing is i can load my old save file.

Is this the Thing where it gives you the Choose thing for all the FW My RE-3 worked with 3.52 when I used it Now it just freezes. I”m using 3.80M33-4 With the New CWcheat, and that doesnt work for this anymore, worked on 3.71M33, and PspTube doesn’t even show up anymore. :( This update did me more Bad then Good.
I am in absolute love with the network update. I had 3.8-2, and simply clicked on the network update, it found an update, and I installed it by pressing X. Simple as hell, and required absolutely no work.

Another thing, I’ve never used Pops, I know it has to do with PS1 games, but, what the fuck does it do?

u drop the seplugins folder into the root of the memory stick and uxit usb mode and go into recovery mode, one uv done tht go into plgins and enable the pops plugin but seriously iv tryed it and when i tryed my resident evil 2 and res 3 even final fantasy it came up a menu with pops and didnt matter wht 1 i picked it j crashed on screen and whenever i loaded the game bk up my game would never start!!! iv went bk to 3.52m33-4 coz at least all my games worked bk then and i didnt even use pops either so its the safer and best cfw out! and another thing all my games still got the stupid dragula crap image in my save games lol so much for DAX fixing tht!!!
if anyone knows how to get most of ps1 games working on 3.80m33-4 plz HELP US ALL coz so far all these updates R pointless!!!

http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=118794&p=1 next grab popsman340.prx, pops340.prx, pafmini340.prx and libpspvmc340.prx and dump them in poploader file. the one inside seplugin then enable poploader in recovery and your go to go. why? 3.40.prx because it plays all ps1 games.

What Folder Do You Put It In
place the UPDATE folder in :/PSP/GAME so it will be like this:
:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE
then select the m334 update from memstick in xmb

I can’t get my emulators to work. I had 3.80 m33-4 and when I run the emulator its says “the game could not be started”(8002014C). do I put the emulator files in game, game150 or the game380 folder and what kernel should i be running? thanks for the help if anyone has any ideas.
all emulators go into game1.50 folder and go into recovery and enable ur homebrew to 1.50 instead of 3.80
not necessarily. i have a slim with two emulators thaty run in the 3.80 kernal so not all emulators go in GAME150. if you download an emulator and the download contains two identical folders except one has a % sign in it, its a 1.50 homebrew and goes in GAME160. if its only one folder, its either a 1.00 kernal or 3.XX kernal homebrew. both go in GAME and run just fine

Hmmm, I upgraded to M33-4 then formatted the stick, copied the 1.50k_addon files to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE, then copied the 1.50 firmware over to the root of the stick with the name 150.PBP but for some reason when I go to the memory stick through the “XMB->Game->Memory Stick” it only shows a corrupted Data icon. No update? Worked for 3.71 this way? What am I doing wrong?
Create a folder in /PSP/GAME/ called 1.50Kernal.
Place the 1.50K_addon files in that folder.
Be sure to place the 150.PBP in the root of the stick.
Then u can run it.
This worked for me. Hope it works for you too.

i agree ,the psp games are shit and all the top titles that could have been are delayed or canceled ,its no wonder …. im all for homebru and psx pops loader ,but i think dax should remove umd iso compatibility.
you all dont understand the damage piracy does to any industry ,and for all this legal backup crap, well look after your discs and carts and you wont need to back anything up ,a psp collection boxed in mint on ebay in 10 years time will be worthless.
dax is a kool guy and if his intentions were of good for the psp in general , no umd iso emulation would be possible.
now ,on to topics of 380 ,i was on it and found it really buggy so made a pandora and went to 150 then 303 , now i see mm4 is out ,can anyone verify …. slowdown problems removed ,old and current homebru working ?

I would say 3.71M33-4 was the best, everything worked for me. :( I mean I appreciate this guy making these, but if allot of stuff does not work, Why even release it, It would save space on here for all of us ASKING help. Makes sense.
Has anyone tried to put in the 3.80 - 1.50 Kernel addon on their M33-4? I can’t seem to be able! I asked for help a few messages back. lol, but no answer, so my question is has anyone actually tried to install it? Cause either no one has tried it and thus they don’t know it don’t work or they have tried it and my PSP is screwed up!
I report a fall in perfomance with 3.80 m33-4. I have a FAT and MS Sony 4GB.

I upgraded to M33-4 and games are still slow. On Wipeout Pulse, images freeze for a split second whenever access to the memory stick is performed.
I was playing Untold Legend Brotherhood with my bro via Ad-hoc WiFi using 3.71 M33-4 and after I switch to 3.80 M33-4 , the game framerate drop , it seems to be slower and laggy.Just what went wrong with this firmware,hope this could be fix soon…
