		<description>As far as I know there are already some external hard drives avaiable on the market working without the need for software, they even work on Sony's Official Firmware. Google it and you will find several models avaliable.</description>

Now, for an upgraded version:

I'm no expert, but I bet that if you used the parts of a slim PSP on a fat case the spare room woud be enough to fit one i-pod nano hard drive, or maybe even a bigger one, and connect it directly to the board, where de MSDuo was suposed to connect, leving both the UMD drive and the USB plug completely free and fully operational. Again, I'm no expert, this is probably impossible, or at least realy hard. But is someone is crazy/corageous enough to try, go ahead and let us know how it goes.</description>
