Another Multidisc PopStation GUI

greg | December 20, 2007

Update: Impaler has shared a minor update which adds an about screen and preview button. Feel free to re-download the RAR archive below.

Another PopStation front end for Dark_AleX’s multi-disc popsloader has surfaced from developer Impaler. I just finished giving the GUI a quick test run and it seems to function quite well. It’s capable of creating both single and multiple images depending on your selection.

Impaler’s PSX EBOOT Creator is a Windows .NET app. So you’ll require the necessary Microsoft frameworks.

Is this for for a single game with multiple discs, or any different game iso on one iso image to save space?

For games like PS1 Final Fantasy’s that have multiple disks.

Yes, based on the number of iso’s that are selected it uses the original popstation or the new multidisk popstation. It also allows for the selection of eBoots that need to be reconverted. I look forward to any errors or comments so that i can better the app.

How many psx games use 5 disks?

I have a copy of Riven (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riven), it does… each world is its own disk. (Although I would not want to play Riven on the PSP) this would make it MUCH easier to switch between worlds.

From Greg:

“my apologies for the ad. Need to pay for some extra bandwidth this holiday season. It should only appear once though. I notice the problem in Safari, but other browsers behave accordingly. What browser are you using?”

Are you sure that it can convert single-disc games? I can’t see the original popstation.exe within the ExecFiles folder (only the multidisc one).

2007-12-20 19:54:07

Just placed the popstation.exe from the 3.02 OE revB I still have and it still won’t convert my single disc games :(

It does not use the popstation.exe it uses base2.exe to convert using autopopsation exe.

That’s because you need 3.71 m33-4… As in “update 4″.

JIT debugging failed when I try and launch the tool. Maybe you should make the program so it works without errors.

There are three checks for the program. First is at least one ISO must be selected. Second, is a name must be entered into the Game Title, and lastly a game code must be selected.

No.. unforunately not.. the image files need to be in png format. Sorry.

As in instead of iso, img files. like, the type used to copy cd’s. clone them…

I will be releasing new version later.. it includes the preview and about page. Also, i will be releasing a debug version that will write all errors to a file so that anyone that has a problem can just send me the file. I appreciate everyone’s help and understanding while we get this working for everyone. My Website is ImpalerISO.com

So when I try to make an eboot with metal gear solid it just makes this eboot that’s size 193kb. now I’m no expert but i know that metal gear is larger than that so maybe some sort of guide or readme maybe.

Worked for me to create FF8 Eboot. I did not see anywhere to change the compression levels. For everyone getting the Index out of bounds error it seems to happen when you select more then one disk in the list.

did u have eboot files to begin with? i got then as .rar –> .img, .ccd. and .sub files for each disk.

Well it ‘Completed’ Final Fantasy IX well enough, but the game won’t run. Been sat looking at a blank screen for 5mins hoping it would load.

REQUESTS
A function to create the ISO’s from my original discs rather than having to use a second program and then wait for them to copy.
A compression setting would be appreciated, as would a readme. Most of it is explained with a quick google but I still can’t figure out what all of the .png’s are for.
The ‘Preview’ function didn’t display correctly but the finished file did (on the PSP)
