PSP & PS3 Remote Play with PSOne Games!
greg | December 18, 2007
Numerous emails we’ve received detail an interesting feature that goes unmentioned with PSP firmware 3.80 and PS3 firmware 2.10. Those owning both devices running said firmwares may take advantage of a new Remote Play feature — PSOne games!
Now you have the option to save precious storage space on your memory stick by playing all your favourite PSOne games over Remote Play. This apparently works with PSOne titles downloaded via the online PlayStation Store or using the original disc.
Thanks to everyone who emailed us.

About time!
This also works on 3.71m33-4 as long as you have got the remote play files from the 3.72 update.
Played and tested with my psps (fat and slim) both the latest m33 firmware.
im currently running 3.71m33-4….how do iget the remote play files from the 3.72 update?
holy crap finally something super useful but will it be able to do 2 player?
Ok ive been out of the loop for a bit….my PSP is running 3.40 OE-A, and I have been reluctant to upgrade since DAX retired. Is there currently a 3.80 custom firmware? What is it called?
lol sorry dax did not retire, google dark alex and you can see his latest m33 project (currently 3.71 m33-4)
3.80 m33 is gonna be out soon :P
go for that one instead.
the newest custom firmware is 3.71-4 m33 made bij DAX for fat and slim psp.
are these as good (reliable and functional) as the firmwares that darkalex made?
DAX = Dark Alex (if I’m not mistaken)
Dark Alex == m33
peace
your such an arsehole, maybe not in personality but with what you trust, I mean I thank you for not disputing other cfw makers (to my knowledge you haven’t anyway), but THERE are equally good cfw developers out there, like Helldash, she’s perfecting her skills most likely as we speak.
Safe however, I just feel annoyed when people say they don’t ‘trust’ other cfw makers.
Team M33 (aka C+D) IS Dark_Alex and some others. I thought this was common knowledge by now… ah well :P
the sony japanese website kept their promise! PlaystationSpot everywhere (in tokyo)! Now every mcdonalds have PSSpot and in Shinjuku theyre almost everywhere. Despite the very cold weather I drained my battery outside downloading trial games, themes, videos, wallpapers from the ps website… I hope if they’ll produce psp2 it should have touch screen, its a pain in the neck to browse in the net and fill up some forms with the directional buttons. Also I noticed that the TV recording is almost identical to the actual thingy… the thing is, somewhat the voice is out of sync. Well, I hope custom firmware will fix this (or not since 1seg is in japan). But yeah! nice update there sony! ご苦労様!
Ooh shiz thas doggy right thurr. Another reason to get a ps3…
yeah but still no CFW or modchip for Ps3!!!
fad3d I have 3.71 M33-4 – how do you get remote play files from 3.72? Maybe that’s my problem..
Its weird if I do local remote play it says I need to update to latest version but if I run internet remote play it looks like it wokrs, but then it times out.. odd.
Instructions to get remote play working from official firmware 3.72 in 3.71 m33-4:
Download ofw 3.72
Download M33_NEWPSARDUMPER
Open USB Connection and put 3.72 eboot (rename it to UPDATE.PBP) in root of mem stick
Put PSARDUMPER in Game (3.71 kernal)
Run Psardumper
Press Square
After it’s done dumping, open USB Connection and copy premo_plugin.prx (f0\vsh\module) and premo_plugin.rco (f0\vsh\resource) and paste them somewhere for safe keeping
You can delete the folder now.
Open recovery menu on PSP (right bumper and turn on with PSP still connected to PC)
Go to advanced
Select Toggle USB (flash0)
A new window should pop up on your PC
Make sure you have hidden files and system files viewable
Replace premo_plugin.prx (vsh\module) and premo_plugin.rco (vsh\resource) with the ones you copied
Select Toggle USB (flash0) to disable
Restart PSP
that should let the psp use 3.72 remote play on 3.71
is there a way to rip your own psx games to ps3 or just work with psx games that you can buy from PSN?
yes, you can copy psx games to the ps3 if you have the original disk. I’m pretty sure that was referenced in this post.
I don’t think so…
so this is no benefit at all, no good games available at PSN, and to have one game available i will just keep on memory stick… make PS2 playable and then we talk… Dream on… lol
no fucknut
What this means is eventual remote access to your ISOS!!! (from your pc emulating ps3 remote play)
that would be awesome. I just wonder how long it will be before someone works that out.
