To accompany the PS3 2.10 firmware update, Sony has also unveiled PSP firmware 3.80.
*Sniff* *Sniff* Do I smell a new custom firmware brewin’?
3.80 changes:
- The function [Radio via Internet] has been added under [Network].
- The import of channels OPML format is now possible under [RSS Channel].
- Pictures can now be displayed under [RSS Channel].
- New visualization effects were added to the viewer under [Music].
- Support for PLAYSTATION®Network titles has been expanded

now this is what ive been waiting for sony to do for along time but i still want to play all my cso’s and homebrew now that would be perfect:)
i installed this FW over my CF to see how the TV recording stuff works, well… I still haven’t tried it yet but I think I’ll record some shows when I get home. The new revisualization thingy isn’t that so great as you’ll expect and it only contains 1 new crappy visuals.

they can EASILY divide the firmware regionally, that way, they can remove the jap fonts from U.S. PSP’s and have more space to satisfy teh average consumer.

and oh… who would’ve wanted some TV recording functions when the one that’ll record (Jdrama, anime) can be downloaded on the internet with a way better resolution. Here in japan you’ll bore yourself with some NEWS NEWS NEWS and variety shows. Most of the dramas and animes are airing on office hours (I hope my boss would not catch me recording TV shows under my desk LOL) and 1seg (TV signal) is not as many as some local channels and most of it have a very small resolution (welll ofcourse the target users of 1seg are mobile phone users) OH! did I have just waste ur time reading this??? I believe this update is exclusive for japanese PSP’s. If you try to install this on US or other country’s psp i think problem would arise. But of course if mess things up… PANDORIZE it

Ok I’m new here, just wanted to know if any of you people can help me out putting a custom firmware. I have 3.72 and I just would like to know how to install a custom firmware with homebrew capabilities. Thanx in advance to anyone who responds back to me.
you need a pandora battery and magic memory stick (ebay). or if you know sb with a PSP on cfw, you can ask him to pandorize yr battery and donwgrade from there, you can then convert yr battery back to a normal one.
try googling downgrade psp pandora, you should find all the information tou need

I would add a warning that you can’t run homebrew on this update otherwise there will always be some young ones that update and then come to the forums crieng that there homebrew doesn’t work anymore

HIVer, if you are good in electronics, you can do some changes to your battery and make it pandora battery that way. Its super complicated though, and you may lose your battery. Just use google to find the instructions. Or you can send it for someone that has Custom Firmware, thats what i did, and now i have 3.52 M33

It’s not mandatory. 3.71 m33-3 works more than ok. I’ll stick to that until I come across a game that requires a higher firmware (like WipEout Pulă). That’s right, PULĂ. You heard me.
some of the new demos need higher than 3.71. I tried to play the new Locoroco christmas demo and it said i need a higher firmware.

Team M33 said they would stop at 3.71 M33 when they had finalised it then they would wait for a major change in the coding before making any new CFWs. This is that major change. The only reason CFWs weren’t released for 3.72 and 3.73 is because they were tiny updates that barely changed the code aswell, which is also why (no offence or flaming intended) HellDash_X was able to make his CFWs over them. I’m sure M33 will be back, they can’t resist a challenge ;)
3.80 M33 please lol! I want the remote play more than the radio. I doubt Id ever use it.

u can now do remote play with ps1 games on ur ps3 tht being the game discs or downloaded games
Another feature that’d be good for CFW is dual-boot. I’d be nice to test out 3.80 OFW while still keeping 3.71M33…

Does Pandora Battery work well on Windows Vista or do I need to do this on an XP computer? It doesn’t let me work “mspformat” when I try doing it. Again, help would be greatly appreciated. And as for a comment, umm… custom firmwares rule!!! now only if I knew how to use them.
how about a fucking downgrader? not everyone has money to buy a pandora battery or a custom fucking firmware to make their own.

Alright this is some bull$h*t… why dont they put in game XMB on both PSP and PS3… it will take a while for sony to code it but i know its possible because on psp theres a simple 48kb cfw plugin that makes in XMB… my PSP bricked and pandoras battery wont work. i got the new lite PSP… if only sony would make there own type of plugins that came in update form and added it to a certain flash drive… That would skyrocket PSP sales every where and would make it possible to develop uneeded downgraders!!!

I heard that remote play on PSP can turn your PS3 on from a wifi connection… Is this true? if it is how do i do this?
to XMB i think ur right about uneeded downgraders…… all everybody really wants is in game xmb….. i got cfw on my psp only to music while playing my games….. sure cfw is useful for other things– i just want in game xmb!!!!!!
Using the update 3.71 MM-4 and the expansion remote play from 3.73, you can update the psp to remote play to both PS3 firmwares 2.00 and 2.10…works perfect. I really wanted the 3.80MM update until I tried this little experiment. If you know what your doing…enjoy reconnection to the PS3.
Right now I am going to try something incredibly stupid… i have an original 1.00 psp nand laying around… since the PSP slim can run programs written in 1.00 code… it might be able to to actualy run the old original firmware…because 1.50 is different than 1.00. Not sure what it can actualy do besides play launch games, but it may work…will post after I brick it, hahaha. Wish me luck.
