Project4 P.O.C. Video #2
greg | December 18, 2007
You watched this video earlier in the month. Sadly it was somewhat of a poor quality.
The team, only a few moments ago, sent word of a new video posted on YouTube. Behold Project4 — the complete XMB replacement!
We’ve witnessed fake videos and countless deceptions in the past. So to be clear on things, this news should be taken with a grain of salt. Personally I’m a bit skeptic, but I’ve been wrong before. Who hasn’t? Nonetheless I have high hopes; a complete XMB replacement would be one hell of a righteous hack. Stay tuned!

yea i want this lol looks pretty damn cool, hope its not a fake but you never know…
Not a bad hack but I don’t like it.
The XMB replacement as of now looks weak, but it’s just a POC… just like CFW 1.00 was originally
other developers can build off of this and potentially create something worthwhile
love the vid, how the music just keeps playing :P
And the video still sucks for quality
I wish people would stop saying “It’s a POC”. It’s been proved that the XMB can be replaced many times.
Cloudy
Plus, they couldn’t even be bothered to update it to 3.71…
Cloudy
yo creator, (he live in the same town as me, goes to same school) could you go back to original, and did you got video mp4 working now
i just dont see the point seems kind of stupid
Yea well that’s about the same way I feel with you making a comment.
Mot stupid,genious!!!!!-Imagine Streaming video, audio maybe even your iso’s.it’s still in its development stages so Haters dont hate unless u got 1 thats better.
I dont think that people realize that with a fully customizable XMB, you open a new window to the PSP. From that, you could make a whole new FW. Meaning, dev’s would not need to crack Sonys FW and they can just code there own from scratch. A full new XMB just cracks the window to this and will hopefully soon be able to open a door to 100% CFW. But, hey, maybe I am crazy.
@ captain_psp……….you are crazy
Dude keep it coming! I see the comments this time are little bit more positive than last time! Will, be keeping an eye out come the 24th!
Cap has a point to it if a full CFW is out there will be no need for the horrid 1.5 patch for slims or phat’s ontop of that never haveing to update useing what ever features the OFW has and be able to add to it. + even tho sony is compressing they’re cfw we could do it to. as far as i see it’s it looks sweet maybe another ver of irshell but it looks sweet. can’t wait for ya to release it bro
Looks pretty neat.
This looks more like a P.O.S not a P.O.C
kinda stupid looking..
ummmm i dont get it…looks just like eyecandy to me….but veary nice job on it. It looks like u put alot of effort into it.
it does look like its another shell replacement just its what ever you want it to be, now if there is a way to flash it that would be freaking sweet, at least there shouldn’t be any worries to bricking. really couldn’t tell though if he flashed it or not cause his hands were covering the memstick light any ideas?
any1 have a link to the COMPLETE xmb that he was using b4 he installed project4 in the video. please mail it or mail me at

thnx!
This does look cool, but I will make sure to make a backup of my flash 0 and flash 1 before I do it. My sweet dragon theme is cool right now and I don’t want to have to go find it again if this sucks that bad lol
inst it like irShell? same sht too me. but if it can run flash stuff then mighty cool.
Juan
Well, it’s great to see peeps making this sort of effort, but to echo some previous sentiments, I’m not sure I see the point? I mean if you want to run ANY commercial PSP games, then its pretty obvious you need a backward compatible kernel, which means a replacement XMB cannot have a 100% CFW unless you want to run nothing but cheesey homebrew apps. Fun and all, but not exactly practical. If it is indeed going to be via, I’d think that the boot time probably needs improving. Staggering amount of time and effort must have gone into this, so props for that!
