OK HellDashX’s custom firmware maynot be quite up the legendary Dax’s standard yet and it may well be Dax anyways, but if its not DAX and Dax does decide to quit the seen then it looks like this Helldashx guy or team are going to be the saviour of CFW.
So tread carefully when dis’ing him/her/them

3.72 HX-2 stuffed up my PSP Slim royally … I had to use Despertar Cementerio 3 to get back to 3.71 M33-2.

I wonder if it’s wise of me to try HX again …

LOOK helldash is just as good as dark alex there is really no difference between him and dark alex by the way its better to have compation and really the only difference is the new popsloader multi disc. but thats about it

im still going to stay on my 3.52 m33-4, ive yet to be convinced to upgrade any further, nor is there anything actually useful in these HX releases that I can’t already do. btw this isn’t a flame comment against HX, I just truely haven’t found reasons to upgrade. And also, whatever isn’t supported or reccommended by the IRC, i definately do not touch.

Well even if 3.73 HX-1 doesnt have the 1.50 kernel if u have a custom firmware u should try the multi boot UMPS which lets u boot your PSP with the full 1.50 firmware, without changing the original firmware because uses the files from your MS (memory stick), google ‘ultimate pandora project’ and follow the third link, it comes in to versions fill( a cso file) and a lite version (an eboot file) the only thing is that it wont multiboot in a slim just a phat psp.Once u install the UPMS with utilities use the HELLCAT option and then -Boot to full firmware- to boot with a 1.50 firmware and then u can use all your apps and games that use the 1.50 kernel, once u r done with them just turn off (not sleep!) the psp (cold boot) and u should be back to whatever firware u had, 3.71 M33-4 or 3.73 HX-1 u know the one the is install in your psp. I have a lot of version installed using this UPMS change between them in less than a minute, so if u have a cfw and a phat psp i’m sure u will love this UPMS, try the cso file its better. Later ….

That’s why if ain’t broke, don’t fix it! In other words, if your current cfw is working fine, why even try a new cfw that not a lot of people speak highly of? I’ll stick with my 3.71 m33-3 for now, I don’t really play a lot of multidisc psx games so I dont see the need to upgrade to m33-4.

DO NOT UPGRADE TO THIS! IT WON’T RUN YOUR HOMEBREW & REMOVE YOUR RECOVERY MENU! THAT’S WHAT MOST USERS WHO TRIED IT ARE REPORTING. STICK WITH DAX/M33 WORKS.

good work on the firmware, its nice to give us some other options but try and test the thing extensively before you put it on general release. And make sure the people know about the no recovery option and the lack of homebrew option it will only sway people from using it and that i a shame keep it up guys.

I’ll stay with my 3.71M33-4 for now. Please put the recovery option in your next firmware before releasing it. It’s kinda like an insurance policy for all of us and we like the recovery option.

I’m still on 3.52 M33-4 the only way if i will update to another CFW if every homebrew goes great and no bugs.

I had problem with the 3.72h custom not loading PSone games and a few minor glitches, never had a problem with Dax software… I will update to 3.73 though to keep up with the ‘hottest thing’. As for updating 3.71 to version 4, its like updating a GEO metro, its still a Geo no matter if you put side skirts on it. I suppose you could make it run later games as long as Sony doesnt change all the formating again. Looking forward to the Video recorder feature of 3.80… good work DAX for your update, and to this new guy, whomever he may be. 3.73 here I come…

Aah My psp slim home button does not work ever since I upgrade to HX CFW. Can any body help?

I upgraded my 3.71m33-4 slim to this cfw but after I shut it off there was no recovery or xmb. Just a black screen. I used upms that I already had created and went back to 3.71m33-4. Maybe a update needed to fix? Or just stick with dax.

At least someone else is trying…….

i just wish i hadnt formatted my memory stick AFTER loading all the POPS stuff for 3.71 m33-3. i’m kinda new so i havent got it all figured out yet. I’ll wait on this one

Damn, I just got owned with this HX-1 firmware……Updated from 3.71m33 to this crap “Hackfack”. I thought that this CF would enable homebrews since Greg stated it on the homepage but was I wrong. Only reason I updated to this firmware cause I wanted to do remote play on the PS3 which I can do now but I lose my homebrews. I hope they bring out an update for this even though I could just downgrade using Pandora but thats a pain in the ass to do and since my PSP isn’t bricked, I wont use Pandora since its fine.

Lucky I rarely use my PSP now since PS3 is way better but I’m still a bit annoyed that I cant play Sega Megadrive games on my PSP if I’m on the go…….

To those who haven’t noticed, this HX Update is a BETA run, so in a way, it is good to report the bugs so it can be fixed. I believe Helldash X is doing a good job in figuring out how to make Custom Firmware. Everyone has to start from Somewhere. To those who whine about everything, why don’t you guys do something instead of crying like little girls! lol

didn’t think this would require a new thread I think it’s simple but i’m a tard sometimes. I just got a new MS and I thought it would be as simple as copying everything from the old stick to the new one after formatting the new one. Now my iso’s won’t boot on new stick, if I put in my old stick iso’s boot… any thoughts??? PLZ!

the 1.50 kernal add on doesn’t work either. Man this update really ticked me p***ed me off. They said this would enable homebrew so i downloaded it. At least remote play works with this.

This doesn’t work on anything. The 150.pbp add-on also doesn’t work. Even if it did work, you couldn’t access it because you are unable to get into the recovery menu to change any settings. Also, the upms doesn’t work. The only reason I downloaded this was for the promise of homebrew usability…I wanted to play a couple of games that I like a lot and also do some pdf reading…wish I could go back to 3.40…but can’t do that now either.

An update to above, and apologies to Dark Moon. This does work as does the 3.73 as does the upms if you wanted to go back to a different version. IMPORTANT to know, even for less-than-noobs like myself. Always make sure the file is named 150.PBP, not 150.PBP.PBP!!! :oops:

I just installed 3.73 HX-1 and then the 1.50 addon to one of my PSP’s and I am pleasantly surprised by how well it runs, considering all the negative stuff I have read.

I do not use popsloader or any plugins on this PSP, but a heap of homebrew & emulators + backup ISO’s.
All run without an issue, just like they do on the M33 CFW’s.
The 1.50 addon also fixed the recovery menu access issue, so that is also working fine.

All up I have had no issues whatsoever and I have given it a pretty good test.

when i upgrade my psp, the recovery menu didnt appear anymore, can tell me what happen???

already a fortnight.

and above me… maybe u turned it off while it was installing. ur psp has a brain aka version. u were changing its brain so it could work homebrew but maybe i turned ur psp off when it was installing and its new brain was completed with the work then it got corrupted. its just like if u r saving a file to a usb drive that file will be stuffed up and corrupted/deleted. like for ps2, i was saving a game and thought it was finished, and accidentally took the memory card out. then i looked back, that save data was gone. deleted. :(

but at least i made copies of that on another memory card..

Telus.. does ur psp work? is it a fat or slim? i think ur psp mite be bricked. if its a fat i heard there are stuff called ‘PSP Unbricker’. u could google it and see.

but anyways im not good about psp homebrew…
