Tyrian PSP 0.6 Patch Released

You likely experienced a couple hiccups with Tyrian 0.5 when it first hit the homebrew scene. Deniska has listened to your feedback/bug reports and is now releasing version 0.6:
- ~10% speed increase due to new rendering routine.
- better smoothing/scaling in full-screen mode
- original size mode fixed
- data cubes text scroll fixed
- black screen on startup bug hopefully gone
- fixed the startup title screen animations
- slightly better key handling in main menus.. still needs some work
To install, download and copy Tyrian PSP 0.5 to your memory stick — if you haven’t done so already. To apply the patch, simply overwrite EBOOT.PBP from the 0.6 archive. Enjoy!

Great improvements to the patch – thanks for the post.
nice update! it now runs at full speed on turbo mode =)
It actually runs worse with this update than version .05.
Now, whenever I run Tyrian, there’s a mouse pointer in the upper-left hand corner and the screen size has been cut in half to a window that displays in the center of the screen.
norain, go to main menu ->opentyrian and switch to fullscreen mode..
lol that mouse has always been there >.>
haye i just realised, this doesnt have the tyrian2000 5th episode in it
OpenTyrian, not Deniska’s fault :P He just ported the open program. If you check out the OpenTyrian project, they say themselves it’s tyrian2.1, not 2k, so it shouldn’t have the 5th episode.
Def a great job on bringing over this game, im lovin it ! Kinda reminds me of Raiden.
Raiden was fucking hard. One hit and you were dead, as opposed to Tyrian where you can upgrade your ship.
I used the options to turn the game to Slow for a better chance at dodging. ;) Tho it does ruin the fast paced gameplay we all love and cherish… :(

And yeah… I just needed to change it to full-screen. No idea why it doesn’t DEFAULT to fullscreen like the last version… but HEY!
It does run faster. But it was easier for me to play when it ran slower. Still can’t get past the first boss though…
Great job Deniska, 0.5 is like day and night compared to 0.6. It took my a few times with the original release to get the right eboot. The second one worked for me but this patch is much faster and smoother. Keep up the good work

I dont understand, now when i updated, when i try to play a level it crashes
i dont have the black screen bug anymore but, i’m have a lot of bsod’s :)
well ppl, it works great for me, tho crashes from sleep mode.
wait……… nothing happens when i save ….. it says enter save name and i can’t do anything XD

You can load the last played level even after you quit the game !

Boy some people have a really hard time reading :P From the begining, it was stated by Deniska himself that text entry hasn’t been resolved yet due to some problem. That means you can’t enter your name for a high score, and you can’t save a game. The save still works via “Last level played” auto-save, so no worries. Just don’t try to save your game manually!
great game!but i cant save game because there is no keyboard))))and after upgrading ship and starting game i see psps crash screen
ya like after a hardcore upgrade.
oh and is anyone’s game crash if u wake up from sleep mode?
mine does if i keep it asleep for longer than 2 seconds
tho same thing happens with any of my 1.5 homebrew……….weird XD
still, really fun game, wish it was bugless
