How to Enable PS3 Remote Start on CFW 3.71 M33-3

greg | November 12, 2007

Are you a PSP & PS3 owner? If the answer to that question is yes, and if your PS3 is fresh at firmware version 2.00, while you’re running Dark_AleX’s latest PSP 3.71 M33-3 custom firmware; then I suggest you read on…

Ryu from our forums has detailed the necessary steps to enable Remote Start. While you’re out and about, remotely turn on your PS3 from any available WiFi spot, access your stored media — jam some tunes, show your buddies the [nasty] pics of the ex — whatever you desire, turn your PS3 back off or begin folding (p.s. join team # 61069), and it’s a done dollar.

replaceing the premo files works, but it’s not ment to be this way and the connection lags.
i’l just wait for dark_alex to release 3.72-m33.

even with the custom fw 3.72 it lags like hell so i suppose its the method that needs improvement. but still a good feature anyways, i just hope theyll fix that in future firmware. Also the system has some bug like when you turn off your psp remotely, u cant turn it back on…Some other problems have been reported….

There’s not really any hacks for PS3/ And this sounds cool. Really cool.

Anyone try Lair through Remote Play? I can see it being very laggy, but still a cool feature.

Yes, I have all three, Lair, PS3 and several PSP’s. Lair on the psp thru remote-play is pretty sweet, except that for certain (almost necessary attacks) you need the motion sensor of the Sixaxis paddle. Playable, but more a demo than anything, as you cant honestly beat the game this way.

for people are laging , just press home button and setup the quality speed , 5 is lagy because is best quality , 1 is superfast but you loose in quality , give it a try !

My PS3 (FW 2.00) can’t register my PSP (3.71M33-3). How can I do it? What’s the problem? Can someone help me?

I’ve had this problem with an old Black PSP i had, It did connect when the PS3 had an “OLD” firmware and it was harder to connect, but ever since updating it, it would never connect to the PS3 using the new method. I atributed that from messing up the Keys inside the psp firmware, although the other 2 psp connected just fine. There is a key fixer here at psphacks, but i personaly never used it…ended up giving the old black system away to a friend.

To help those that have done this firmware fix, remember you also have to Enable ATRAC in your system settings of your PS3, enable remote-on in the remote play PS3 settings, and set your user account for automatic log in. Then make sure that you log in with your PS3 using the same account info you use for your PS3 account. That should do it.

make sure u pick via internet if you pick private it will not go into standby mode and will shut off your ps3 off completly and will not be able to use remote play again.. so i need to restart manualy.

Hold on, does this mean that when DivX is released for the PS3, you could stream movies from your PC to your PS3 and then to you PSP. I guess it would be quite laggy though, probably as much as PimpStreamer ATM.

When Divx is released for PS3 why would you want to stream from your PC when you could just copy onto your PS3 hard drive. You could probably stream straight from PS3 to PSP without a PC

Problem!!!
I got a problem somehow during the process and now my file premo_plugin.rco is 0 byes size and corrupted, I can’t replace or delete it.
Everything else works fine, except logically for the remote control.
What’s the easyest way to fix a problem like this in flash0?
- Recovery menu?
- Pandora?
- Wait for 37.2 M33?
