Custom Firmware 3.71 M33-3 w/ PopsLoader Released!

As promised, here it is — from the man who makes it do what it do — PSP custom firmware 3.71 M33-3. As the title implies, a new working version of PopsLoader is also included. Props Dark_AleX!
3.71 M33-3 changes:
- Fixed a bug in access to flash by usb.
- HEN core: kernel prx’s with syscall exports work again.
- PSP Slim: programmers can set the size of user memory to 52 MB by using a sfo flag. Check sample in sdk for usage.
- March33 NO-UMD driver:
- Fixed a bug that could hang the psp when exiting with home.
- Fixed compatibility issue with Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles, and maybe more games.
- Vshmenu: it wasn’t displaying properly with psp slim TV-OUT due to the change of resolution. Fixed.
PopsLoader changes:
- Support for 3.71 and 3.72 pops has been added. Note that 3.71 however will not appear in the list in 3.71 M33 as it is not necessary.

I just updated and all is fine except for when I go to play a PSX game and it asks me to choose the PRX. No matter which I choose, the PSP freezes. I have all the popsman.prx’s all the way up to 3.52. What am I doing wrong?
anyone have any problems geting on there ps3 from remote play?.. im on version 3.71…. do i need to be on 3.72?, or can i use prx from 3.72 and use the plugin for turning my ps3? another thing is that my psp is telling me to upgade for it to work? so im guessing to upgrade? well any help would be appreciated, thanks.

There have been people reporting that it works with the thing of replacing vsh/module/premo_plugin.prx and vsh/resource/premo_plugin.rco
is this true? if so, do i need to get official 3.72 and dump the files to my desktop, then replace the older file with the newer file from 3.72? and do i have to decrypt it as well? im not to sure.

you need to show the hidden files by opening any folder on your computer, click tools at the top menu where “file” and everything is. click “folder options” or something like that. go onto the “view” tab when that opens. then look for the ’show hidden files and folders. click ok. that should be it :)

adam if your on vista open any folder on your desktop, then go to organize, (its on top left corner), click on that and got to layouts then check menu, that should have brought up file, edit, view, tools ect…now click on tool and got to folder option, click that. a window should pop up, click on the view tab.. now look for something called, show hidden files and folder. check it, then see if your files come up
cheers…remote play wake on LAN does work, but you need to try twice..it turns it on, and then you need to connect…

oh!! adam by the way ive ben cleaning my keys with keycleaner but i have one file thats not cleaning, you wouldent happen to have a clean file called 0×0006 0×0041 its the same file. i guess its currupted..what did you use to dump your keys?

I can’t even get M33 3.71 to fly personally. Copied all files, fire it up, it sez I need M33 3.52-3 or later and I’m on 4. The only instruction I’m not sure on is #2 Make PSP run game folder in 3.xx kernal mode. What the heck does that mean??

MAKE SURE YOU KERNEL IS SET TO 3.52
you can do this in recovery mode
start the psp up whilst holding the R shoulder button down,go to configuration find the option for kernel and make sure it’s on 3.52

Download Sony Official Firmware 3.72
Download M33_NEWPSARDUMPER from DA’s Site
Extract data.psar from 3.72 eboot with PBP Unpacker (not sure if this was necessary or not)
Open USB Connection and put 3.72 eboot and data.psar in root of mem stick
Put PSARDUMPER in Game (make sure kernel is on 3.71 in recovery menu)
Run Psardumper
Press Square
After it’s done dumping, open USB Connection and copy premo_plugin.prx (f0\vsh\module) and premo_plugin.rco (f0\vsh\resource) and paste them somewhere for safe keeping
You can delete f0 now
Open recovery menu on PSP (right bumper and turn on with PSP still connected to PC)
Go to advanced
Select Toggle USB (flash0)
A new window should pop up on your PC
Make sure you have hidden files and system files viewable
Replace premo_plugin.prx (vsh\module) and premo_plugin.rco (vsh\resource) with the ones you copied
Select Toggle USB (flash0) to disable
Restart PSP i guess it works… no need to update to 3.72… and still be able to keep 1.50 kernal.. give it a try see it it works… im gona try right now… i’ll post back to see if it works.

If it brings up a menu called M33 VSH menu dont worry nothings wrong its a good thing but if tht doesnt even come up idk what to say.
vsh\module isent showing up as a folder when opening f0…but resource is.. so i replaced that file.. now how the hell am i gona open up the module folder its not visible… i tryed to view hidden files but still nothing.. one thing that mite work is well i tryed to over write it but im not sure if i can use the module from 3.72 or can i just use 3.71 module and just replace that serten file on there as far as premo_plugin.prx …any ideas?
Hi, I have a question on UPDATING FIRMWARE.
I am currently at “3.02 OE-B” (i know i have no been on the seen for a long time). I currently can not run certain iso’s due to my lower firmware. So my question is, can I just update to the latest firmware from 3.02OE-B? or do I have to update the the next firmwares that immediately follow the current. (ex. 3.02OE-A then B and then C…)

u can go straight to 3.71m33-3 if u want to. most phat psp owners have 3.52M22-4 but a lot are coming to 3.71m33-3 now.
Actually, You need to upgrade your PSP to CFW 3.52 M33-3 or 4 to Upgrade to 3.71 M33. I highly suggest you upgrade to at least 3.52 M33-4 since it’s still pretty nice, though if you have a PS3, Remote Play doesn’t work anymore without a higher firmware ( I just know the 3.72 HX-1 Works). Hope this answered your question…
Thanks for the info, I just downloaded the “3.52 M33-3″ update but i can’t seem to find any instructions in the .rar that tell me what to do again with the file. Do I just copy the EBOOT.PBP from the PSP\GAME150\M33Update3\ Folder and place it in the GAME150 folder on my psp (as well as the “seplugins” folder??

This FW is top notch once again tho Pikey0.3 still doesnt work in VSH ….I thought this said he fixed the VSH Pluggin problems…I probably just need to wait for a pikey0.4 I’d really like to use my keyboard for the web browser…its the whole reason I bought it…and I dont feel like downgrading.

anyone having problems with there ps3, when turning off with remoteplay it beeps 3 time and it shuts and psp give an connection error.. and cant turn it back on through remoteplay becouse the wifi is turned off as well.. so you need to restart ps3 manulay.. sucks any help would be cool… thanks.
Because you have to turn it off using the on/off button on the ps3. When you do so it puts the ps3 into a state where its off but still using wifi/usb.(standby?) Kind of like the Wii. I think this is more of a firmware problem on sonys side. Sucks, but hey what can u do but wait for sony.

i downloaded the 3.52m33-4, when im running the 3.53 m33 update, i get a error message that reads pbp signature dont match, its loads and writes the 1.5 but stops at 3.52, can anyone help ?

M33-3 actually did the opposite of the “bug fixes” that were noted. all games i have tried so far hang when exiting with home. none did with M33-2. hope 3.73 is out soon :D

the new 3.80 is out, and its downgradable with pandora kit. dax should be makin a custom fw for that version. wait for the next release ppl…

yes u do need a pandora battery, and no you cannot downgrade a 3.71 or 3.80 without a pandora battery.

No need to waste money on buying a pandora’s battery. Just hard mod yours. had modding a battery to make it pandora is really easy. U can’t turn it back to normal tho.
