PSP Hardware Mod with EL-Wire

I’ve never heard of “EL Wire” until just recently, and now that I see it put into effect, I recognize its dope ass modding potential.
Check this out… Courtesy of the team that does it best — AcidMods!
Evidently it’s only effective if you have a clear PSP outer shell. Now if you were to combine some EL Wire with the sound reactive LED mod, all those fine PSP ladies would be on your jock. Believe me.

Definitely pretty cool. Acidmods never seems to disappoint. Good stuff.
Absolutely stupid. Not to mention completely useless. Why people even find a clear case PSP attractive is beyond me. Why replace the glossy, solid sexy look of a psp with an eyesore of ugly green motherboards and fugly wires? Putting LED wires in there only adds insult to injury in that it not only eats battery but also contributes to the already ridiculous look of the clear casing. To make matters worse, this only looks halfway decent in the dark, which kinda defeats the purpose of altogether. Piss on Acidmods and their wastes of e-space.
1. The battery usage is TINY. These things use none of you battery at ALL.
2. Have you ever thought that some people DON’T want to be like everyone else? Who wants to be the same, look the same, act the same… et cetera. The real cool people want to be different, set their own standards, not be like the rest.
3. WTF does waste of e-space mean? they are the ones paying the server costs. you know absolutely nothing.

No simple at all. you need a power inverter to power the EL-wire the is no inverter small enough to fit in the psp so he had to make his own. Elwire runs on AC power

I think the mod would like nice if the wires were straighter, espically the one in the back around the umd drive it just looks sloppy. Im sure it took a decent amount of time to do this so good work.

Electro-luminescent.. It’s been around for a long time. Surely this application of EL wire is pretty pointless.. I mean.. Surface mount LEDs are smaller, brighter.. Have 100.000 hrs minimum until they burnout and are a lot less fiddly.

hey guy’s I know some of you don’t like some of the mods AcidMods does. But our goal is to create every possible type of mod we can think of. so everyone can findsomthing he or she likes. Next we plan on modding a Laser into a psp code name (007) you will be able to set yuor best friends home work on fire from across the room :)

well i finally broke down and googled my own work and oh man the comments i keep reading are going to make me wet my pants. thanks to those who liked it and to those who didn’t jump on over to Acidmods and check out my other 2 psp’s my ps1 and my ps2 and see if any of those get ya going.
