Various sources indicate Dark_AleX will soon be releasing custom firmware 3.71 M33-3. In addition will be a new popsloader for PSOne-emulated titles. Check back soon for that.

This would have to be the last CFW of 3.71 since 3.72 is out unless he desides to wait and skip it
or he actually has decided to quit this time and is only releasing m33-3 because he said he would finish 3.71 and then leave.
Well i hope the new pops improves the gameplay on Driver 2 so it dousnt really slow down at random times :)

Yes.I just upgraded yesterday to 3.71m33-2 didnt want to risk anything so I stayed with 3.52m33 for a while but this one seems ok.But i think the patch would be needed ! thanks! Cant wait!
how do you downgrade from 3.71 m33-2 to a lower custom firmware? Dont say pandoras please!!!!!
You can downgrade using recovery menu.Prepare files what you gonna download and put them into PSP/GAME/RECOVERY then in recovery mode run eboot directly.Dont forget that.If you use slim one you can only downgrade to max 3.66 M33.
You mean 3.60 m33. But you could just as easily downgrade to the original 3.60 official firmware by restoring the NAND from despertar del cementerio v3. Also, nandTool is recommended with DCv3.
I hope it fixes some probs with some psone games in the slim.I played Mortal Kombat Trilogy but didnt have sound.

cool, whats the game id number?, whats your ripping method? i have the game and have tried pal and usa versions using popstation gui on my slim 3.71m33-2 and get 0 music.
That’s because you don’t rip it in BIN/CUE. Even if the GUI asks you for the .bin file, you still need the .cue file for the audio tracks, because that’s what the PSX uses ! CDA (Audio CD) !
Don’t believe me ? Open the .cue file with Notepad. Sure… some games only have one track… Take note that the ripping process in BIN/CUE for THOSE games is total bullshit. One-track games should always be in ISO format. Period.
game id is slus_0030. i got the iso from my brother who was using epsxe to play it on the pc and i just converted it to an eboot using popstation 1.2
Sweet, I hope Brave Fencer Musashi works, I backed it up and converted with the POPStation GUI and it hasn’t worked on 3.03 OEA to 3.72 m33-2. It’s infuriating, as it is one of my favorite games and I would love to have it in my hand. Same with Castlevania SOTN (Which doesn’t matter as I unlocked it on Castlevania Dracula X).
Brave Fencer Musashi works perfectly on my fat PSP with 3.52 m33-4. In fact, all of the PS1 titles that I have tried that didn’t work on 3.10 oe work now. Front Mission and Ghost in the Shell are two others that work for me now.
I’m so getting 3.71m33-3. Imo, way better than 3.72-HX. (But I haven’t tried that one yet so I’m talking out of my ass…)
I wonder if the PRX pluggin module will work…Id like Pikey to work in VSH and Game…

I’ve recently come home from the military and im kinda lost with whats going on. i have a orignal 1.5 psp and i didnt want to upgrade and lose all the old school games and what not. whats with this custom firmware ?? can someone please send me a link or break it down for me… i can see there has been alot changes !!!! i wanna be able to play the new games, watch video, how someone would on a recently purchased psp. Anyway could someone please be of some help ! ? thank you.
taking your 1.5ofw would be easy to upgrade to any cfw. just find the cfw version u want (3.52M33-4 and 3.71M33-2 are popular) and install following the readme that comes in the download. u will still be able to use “old school games” and enjoy the new ofw features.
so if i upgrade, all my homebrew will work ? also if i wanted to go back to my 1.5 can i do so? sorry to double ask but i know the first time i did it making a mistake can be a serious pain in the ass !!!! i just wanna enjoy what i can do now and what the new psp’s can do with the higher firmwares… thanx !!!!
im assuming u have the fat psp-in that case install 3.52M33-4 and set the kernal to 1.50 in the recovery menu. any other questions u can aim me. my aim is hacktheplanet317

… umm, i dunno if maybe i’m the only one getting this, but
IN PHAT 3.72 M33-2 (with second 150 patch)
when i put any runnin ghomebrew into sleep mode, and wait about 10 seconds to turn it on, it shuts down. (light appears, light dissaprears)
i dunno why that’s happening, the 150 kernel SHOULD have been having no errors, and that is my only complain about 3.71 M33-2
wonder if i’m the only one getting this error all the time.

so if u are starting a new psx game u dont need popsloader?
so have is the m33 custom fv compare to the oe editions? have they improve A LOT compare to when they started with all the freezes and glitches? do they still freeze at all?

LOL , my psp is still 1.5 ..:) and am still using devhook ! is D_A`s M33 downgradeable to 1.5 again..cause i would like my firmware 1.5 to remain intact.!
Im currently running the 3.03 oe-c custom firmware installed by a friend of mine. I downlaoded a bunch of games (iso), mostly new titles over xmas to put on a card along with some movies as a gift for my nephew (also running same firmware) and none of them seem to play. Until now i havent had a problem but all i get with the new games is the usual ‘games could not be started’ info. Im thinking of changing to the new m33 firmware but i was wondering if i needed to do it in stages or wether i could just jump straight in. Could someone provide a tutorial?
