PSP Slim Sound Reactive LED Mod

greg | October 22, 2007

It happened for the Phat PSP, now witness L0rdNiC0’s Slim receive the same sound reactive LED treatment…

Ain’t that snazzy? Not bad for a first timer. More slim mods coming soon, so I hear…

First!!..Okay..I got a question, what network was he connecting to? looked like he was watching something online, and i’ll be damned was it smoother than silk >_> in pimpstreamer its slow, and videos flicker, and howd he get to view videos smoothly? any ideas? One thing is for sure, he was streaming online, Overall nice sexy mod man! totaly wicked! Love the blue lights, too bad psp slim cant fit most of the mods that might come out [lack of space internally], you could only replace stuff inside. could it be that sony got smarter and made it impossible for people to mod anything inside than basic LED’s?

Thank you, I was using location free player in one video. Also I beg to differ theres lots of room in the slim if you know where to look.. So far Led Mod, Sound mod and USB mod. Keep an eye out for something else I’m working on….

That doesn’t look sound-reactive to me, it looks like he just wired some extra LED’s in-line with the network activity indicator LED.

Okay, ive seen the other video and i have a few questions, being a non user of a psp slim, no idea whats new about it, anyways, your internet browser seems to load pages fster than a phat would, is it cause psp slim has java 2 or something or is it for another reason? and psp slims idea for the pop open umd looks kinda gay with no offence, imagine playing a umd and u get so excited u pop the tray open and voila..game crash :P! and one more, the phats battery gets overheated big time esp when browsing something online, does this happen to slim too ? :P and oh yeah, wrong side, but whats the whole use of a pandora memorycard/battery :P! Cheers! and amazing mod there mate, cute kid in the background too :D

the reason the browser loads faster on the slim is the 64 MB of ram where as the phat has onle 32 MB of ram.

so you soldered some wires to the leds then made a parallel circut off the speaker wire? Because i did that with some 12 volt car lights to my home stereo and connected them to my sub wires so get the same reactive sound effect. Very nice mod very eye catching.
