1.50 Addon for 3.71 M33 (PSP Fat Only)

Dark_AleX never breaking a promise — yesterday the Universal Unbricker, and now the long awaited 1.50 kernel patch for custom firmware 3.71 M33… Well not that long, its only been out a week now.
Instructions:
- Install 3.71 M33 (if you haven’t already)
- Copy the directory UPDATE to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE.
- Get sony 1.50 update and copy it to the root with name “150.PBP”
- Run the program and done.
Notes:
- This program is only for PSP fat. The program will reject PSP slim, due to the 1.50 kernel not working on it.
- Because of lack of space, the installer will remove Location Free Player, and the korean font

I know it says it’s for Phatty’s, but if I use the Eloader for 2.71m33, I could run this. Would it screw up my Slim? I’m kinda thinking it would, but I want to know for sure…
Nah.. even if you can run it, the program will still reject. It’s DA’s code which detects whether its the phat or the slim. So, no matter what, you can’t install it in Slim even though you can “run” it. Hope that helps.

upgrade to 3.71 m33 4, why are you still in 3.03 oe-c you cant even play new games on it anymore
3.03 AE-C, the ‘first’ firmware created by Dax. And almost all of us now are using or installing the last DAX firmware. Pretty ironic. In any case, you can update by first upgrading to 3.52 and then use the patch to get to 3.52 (ver4)…then upgrade again to 3.71….or just make Pandora ver2, which will do all these steps in one gigantic sweep. Nothing to fear with the new 1.5 enabler. Get your psp out of the Custom Firmware Stone age….

the problem is i downloaded the update file here, done all like the readme says and it says that “Incorrect or Inexistence 150.PBP at root.”

Still has missed items.
1. Skip sony logo on boot still doesn’t work.
2. Previous CFW Numbers still show when switching from 1.50 to 3.71 in Recovery/advanced
All I noticed so far.
After applying the cookie theme. the sony logo stopped working. Maing the skip sony logo onboot works after all. Alittle strange.

Im getting a error every time i try and update.
location free files are nowhere to be found, and its bottles out at a .prx called pspnet_inet.prx. anyone able to help me?

I know that, when i ran it, it couldn’t find them to delete them. I’ve done it now though, downgraded then re-upped, straight after the update to 3.71 M33, added the files from the 1.50 kernal update rar and kept the 371.PBP file in there, seemed to work then =S, Oh well, at least its worked now.
so….any major bugs? (screen freez or smth like that) specialy recovery menu and XMB ??
i updated but when i try to use homebrew which uses 1.50 kernel my psp turns black and turns off

go to recovery menu —> configuration and change the game folder homebrew
with the space issue if they could find a way to somehow link flash0 to maybe flash2/3 since theres nothing in them at the moment then we would have loads of space for cool new stuff but i expect thats extremely hard to do so thats why they aint done it yet but just an idea

edit on that last post…just had to fiddle with the recovery menu. Everythings perfect now.

Is anyone else having a problem with usb host under this new CFW. I used to be able to view all my ISO’s by pressing the SELECT key, now SELECT brings up M33 VSH MENU! Anyone?

I’m having trouble with the pspnet_inet.prx file while applying the 1.50 kernal update, it keeps saying Error and restarting my psp. Anyone know how to sort this problem out?

Yeah I agree with DP 100%. Plus there are about 100 other things you can do. Play Emulators, ranging from, Nes-SNES-Genesis-N64-ANY PSX game-MAME-DOS-And many more. And apps like, Pimpstreamer, Lite MP3, Wifi Controller, and you cant forget IRShell, just to name a few. So why is OFW better? And dont say more stable, cause you wouldnt know Paul, you dont use CFW.

Considering sony have continually fucked over their customers for the past few years I believe they should burn.
FFS, they killed sega.
Example: They said that motion sensing & Rumble couldn’t be combined, then nintendo went & put both into the wii controllers. Now we have to wait untill 2008 to get rumble controllers that won’t be added tp PS3 bundles.
If people want they PSP to last they should get a CFW and enjoy the endless supply of homebrew there is. Hacking is what is gonna make the PSP last forever! Sony should embrace this. BTW, Firefox has a built in spell checker, use it please.

Usbhostfs needs some files altering i tested this on a psp when it had 3.71m33 on and didnt work and arranged some files and got it to work no problem

if you install the plugin “custom firmware extender 1.6″ it has usbhost functionality built in so it will work in conjunction with usbhost and 3.71 m33. i dont know much about how the programs work but i tinkered with it and I can now play iso’s from my HDD via USB

A long time ago Nester was upgraded back when 2.71 with hen C/D was the ‘ultimate’ psp hacking. It can run natively with the 2.xx kernal.

I had that happen to me, somehow I got the files mixed up. Make sure there are 3 files inside X:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE. They are pretty small in size.
hey i just had an idea – i think firmware 1.50 can’t adress more then 32 m flash storage internally – if someone could change this(extend it to 64m or block the added 32m) maybe 1.50 can be run on psp slim – (if i could i would try this)

I updated to 3.71 m33, and then used the 1.50 kernal patch.
Everything worked great, my homebrew loaded up, emulators worked great, but now I can’t play any playstation 1 games at all now.
The games start up fine and seem to load, but then it goes to a blank screen.
Delete the keys.bin. re-try. Also there’s a plugin for the PSx games for 3.71 m33. Look back on the postings. you’ll find it.
Make sure that you bacl up all files before doing so tho.
I’ve got a fat psp with official 3.52.
Is now possible to update to 3.71 m33 or I must update first to 3.52 M33-(3)4?

Directions to the unwise.
1) Transfer Photos to ms0:/PICTURE

What is this supposed to do?
Have a slideshow with pictures while playing music at the same time. As the comment above and tested. this doesn’t work while playing a game yet.

It does have an unbricker now. Just brick the slim and use the unbricker.

Ok, let me get this straight: 1.50 kernal will only work for the fat PSP, and will never work for the new slim. Therefor, all of the 1.50 homebrew will have to be converted to run on the slim. Is this right?
YES! Or just use eloader for the slim.
If all the homebrew is gonna have to be converted or your gonna have to use the eloader… then the fat is lookin pretty good right now. =/
i cant get this stupid ting to work, i have 150.PBP in the root and i run the program and it says invaild or inexistant 150.PBP, WHAT THE HELL!? i want it to work, please help!!!

Has any one else noticed the speed boost ether from 3.71 or the 1.50 addon??? When I load in SNES Metroid runs better like the EMU is forcing the emu to try n keep up the speed, I was on 3.52 v4 m33 b4 this, also when loading a battle on FF7 its alot faster, so i started a new game to check it out, and the battles load in alot quicker. Bairly any slow downs. I know the addon has nothin to due with the biult-in PSX emu but i love it

Its possible Sony could have made a fix for the PSX and just hasn’t told us yet, but some games that loaded in slow or had troubles at some point, don’t have problems now, someone should check the PSP-PSX games list an maybe check the slow games and make a note that the 3.71 update has some Fix’s to it.
SOMEONE HELP MEE!!!!…..i installed 3.71M33 on my fat psp, and it worked fine. And then i installed the 1.50 kernel thing, and it worked fine. But after, like and idiot, i tried insalling a theme with slash n flash. And now my psp is messed up. SOMEONE HELP!!!!
I only made a backup of my flash before i installed the 1.50 kernel thing. So im guessing i need a backup flash of a psp with 3.71m33 AND 1.50 kernel. PLZ REPLY!!! I CANT USE MY PSP
yo i thought we were suppose to update it to 3.71 the add the m33 firmware. when i start it it say there no need to update

i did everything the notes say and when i run the program it says game not playable
this thing dont work i done everything it says to do. the icon shows up in game then i run it and it stops and a message comes up (the game could not be started(80020148) what have i done wrong some1 help me
“incorrect or inexistant 1.50″ <— that shows up when i press X so i changed the EBOOT.PBP to 150.PBP in the Root folder and put the 150k_installer in the PSP\GAME folder but it still the same when i try to install the 1.50 kernel again. HELP PLEASE!
