It has been reported some cases of bricks in the previous version when pressing circle in the bsod. This seems apparently to be a bug in the sony firmware code.
To fix it, this version will copy the registry of the psp that created the memory stick.
Dark_AleX whips out his magic stick for everyone to see, err, use… uh… wait a minute… that doesn’t sound right…
But on the real, now anyone can convert their ordinary memory stick into a “magic stick” for use with Pandora’s battery. Unbrick your PSP Slim and/or Fat, install custom firmware 3.71 M33, and you’re lookin’ good.

how do I make my Pandora Battery not a Pandora Battery?
if you made a backup of your original battery, then take it out of the PSP, plug a power cord (charger/AC thing) into a PSP with an OE on it (the one you used to turn it INTO a Pandora battery), turn on the PSP, THEN put the battery in (after its on). Open up the Pandora program and it should have an option to turn the battery back (if you made a backup).
I didn’t back up my battery though, so it’s too late and I need a new one? Or if I hit circle and try turning back to normal, would it mess it up? Wondering if I should try it anyways?

It does! I used circle(normal battery that autoboots) instead of square(normal battery) and it does work! No need to backup your battery!
it works without the back up. i restored my friend’s battery back to normal without any probs.
i dont really understand what to do i bricked my psp by trying to put theme on psp with version 3,71 m33 but then it bricked and recovery does not work ….how to use this tool please explain me!

lol riiight your dumb as hell. edisons just use a pandora’s bat, you need someone elses homebrew enabled psp or go to the team noobz website, i heard they will do it for you. there are tutorials on how to use pandora’s battery in the forums.

As SOny CEO, I can help u..but don’t tell anyone…u can create a pandora yourself, or goto ebay and several ppl r selling it there..they also have service to unbrick ur psp…so, try it. u r new..so, creating a pandora battery and magic memory stick will be a problem for u..coz u have to find a friend with homebrew psp first.
or…u can buy a new PSP from us (SONY) and brick it again..and then do the same thing over n over again… Hope this will make have some profit!!

A couple of weird things about this unbricker….seems to work well with Old_PSP…reluctant to try on psp_slim, as 3.60 works perfect for me.
Why is there an option to install normal 3.71?
How does one create the old pandora, if you make the new pandora. What happens if you want 1.5, instead of 3.71? With the 1.5 kernal missing, its impossible to run the ‘unzipper’ pandora 1 memstick maker.
Besides that, it seems to work well. Both systems recognize it, and installs flawlessly on the old system. Again, dont wish to try it on the new one quite yet.

If you have a NAND copy for PSP_Slim version 3.60, would it be possible to copy that into the memstick (pandora2) and then use that option to restore it…. thus, an effective 3.60 downgrader? (Slim only)?

**FAT_PSP WARNING…. RECOVERY MODE in the Recovery Menu will not restore Fat_PSP’s back to Version 1.5. It will cause errors and brick the system. Once it has been upgraded to 3.71. The only thing that will do it is Pandora Version 1….

If I am reading this right, since I already have the pandora MS done, all I need to do is get 3.71 and put it on the MS. But it is oem fw, how does this update to m33?
It simply uses the Sony installer with a little code to patch the necessary files that make it M33

Any memory stick? I’ve tried 2 regular memory stick duo’s and nothing works. One being a 128mb and 512mb. Only the Pro Duo worked for me.

I Like the idea that you don’t have to go down to 1.50 then update to what ever version. But, I still went back to 3.52 M33-4. Having a CFW with out the full package is like eating cereal with out milk or beer.
I used to think Sony was far superior to any other out there! For Example: Nintendo’s Gameboy was not for me, Sony’s PSP was the ideal ultimate handheld there ever was! Then Dark Alex showed up…. everything change, Sony ain’t superior no more, all hail to Dark Alex’s ultimate PSP skills. Not evern Sony’s entire group of encoders are match to a one man team Dark Alex!!!

well Cobra you are totally right, DAX owns the scene, he has a superbrain so skilled and none of the sony encoders are a match for him, he really is the best and it will allways be, he is the reason why i still have my psp in hand, if it isn´t becouse of him i wouldn´t have now, i have my psp since the day it was released in europe, never had a brick and any other problem with my psp, thanks DAX for all your work, you will allways be remembered for all the good thinks that have happened with the psp scene, i just hope you can finish the 1.50 kernel patch done as soon as possible, hope to see that here soon. and one more thing, DAX never leave us becouse if you do that billions of people will be sad. thanks for everything DAX see ya around

My last post on this topic: I have been messing around with the NANDS of factory 3.60, 3.60MM and 3.71MM….if you have a proper NAND you can restore your PSP Slim with it and return. Just a few minutes ago I did this…. 3.60, 3.60MM, 3.71MM , Purposly Bricked, UnBricked to 3.71MM and downgraded to 3.60MM.
If you have the proper NANDS, psp Slim can go to Any Firmware you want to, and I’m assuming future firmwares will be no exception. If 1.5 capability is released, the PSP slim is just as hacked as the original.. Thank you Dax, this is the greatest present you could have given.

Pay some one to do it. I charge $20 on the street. But with shipping and handling . It’s almost not worth it. Almost better to send a Mem stick and a Battery. This way you’re not putting your PSP at risk of being lost or stolen by the sendie. $5+- to ship a battery and a mem stick. $20 to have the mem stick and battery done and ready for you. $5+- to have it shipped back to you. Aint bad really.
Reminds of the days when I use to send floppy disk’s in a regular envelope for 32¢ a stamp. LMAO….

Funkel…remember that if it worked on the FAT, it will work on the SLIM. You will have no screen on the slim because the recovery is based on 1.5, although the software will work regardless of what shows on the screen. If it boots correctly on the slim you will see TWO beeps on the Orange light and ONE green blip. Press X to restore system to 3.71. When finished, the system will automaticaly shut off.
**WARNING….** Installing 3.71MM will render your psp not able to connect to the internet or add new connections on the PSP Slim. Everything else will still be there. Use this (and the 3.71 upgrader) with care, and perferably only if bricked….there may be a fix in the future, but its not definate. (Note: If you have a 3.60 NAND you will be ok re-downgrade it later).
Tom, here in lies the problem. The slim doesn’t flash orange lights at all- just the solid green power light..at a loss
Funkel, you said you created Pandora 2 and it worked on your psp Fat system. If it upgraded your system to 3.71, then it will work on the Slim model as well, provided you didnt mess with the files on the memstick. The lights that flash are the Memstick and Wireless lights. (Caution, your wireless internet may not work if you upgrade.)
Tom, the only light that lights up is the power light and it stays a solid green- no ther lights flash before or after I press x- nothing. On my fatty, plug in battery - all lights flash and into menu it boots. I understand the 1.5 not being functional in slim, but there is no apparent flash available.

Funkel, try again in your PSP_Fat, if it boots up with the menu, I am at a loss. If it does not boot up that menu, then remake Pandora 2 according to instructions. Remember, it takes both the Pandora Battery and the Pandora MemStick for it to work. (gtg bed).

i just tried it on my 3.71 ofw slim and it successfully installed 3.71 M33 i’m glad i still kept the fat one i wouldn’t be able to make the files without it. the cfw works fine i almost thought it bricked so i shut it off then removed the memory stick turned it back on went into recovery and disabled every plugin and it worked i’m guessing that plugins don’t work well on 3.71 M33 yet. but it just lacks 1.50 kernel and better theme support

dark needs fix all problems with 3.71 before people start getting abusive cause it disabled the most important like wifi/homebrew/emulators,probably more
