New Sony Batteries Pandora-Proof?!

Posted by greg

Fanjita of Team Noobz has discovered Sony’s official PSP-110 battery, that of the original fat PSP, can no longer be converted to Pandora. After receiving a new battery from Amazon, it would seem numerous errors occur when using the battery creator, or even when attempting to flash an EEPROM image from an older Sony battery. Drats!

Fanjita says…

It wouldn’t be surprising for Sony to have patched their batteries so that they’re Pandora-proof. If this is true, then it still shouldn’t be a big problem - I’d recommend buying a new, large capacity battery to use as a regular battery, and using the original battery that came with your PSP for Pandora. And of course, you can always use Booster’s multi-IPL loader to use your Pandora battery as your primary battery, if you want. Just don’t go buying new Sony batteries for use with Pandora.

Well, M33 shut down their site, so I don’t know how we’ll receive the news of the 1.50 kernel for 3.71 M33.

you sure it was your battery?
It is highly unlikely that a battery received with a PSP Kit would be patched by Sony already.

Your using a pro duo memory stick right?

I dont think I will ever need Pandoras, I always read the readmes before doing anything risky.

Anyways, Im waiting so bad for the 1.5 kernel patch for 3.71 M33 for fat psps. I wont upgrade to 3.71 until the patch is released. I couldnt live without SNES emulator :P

BTW, Fkcu sony, I understand noobz can do it again but they wont. Fanjita is out of it and DAX has left us too as well as team M33. Who is gonna save us from Sony now?

Buying any battery you should make sure that the bsattery says 1800mAh on the battery. All new ones do not have that logo on them. I just bought one from amazon just 5 days ago and the battery was fine for Pandora. so :P

33 million Psp’s have been sold, plus countless batteries have been made seperatly. Now, everybody is scrambling because Sony stopped making batterys capable of being a Pandora. Honestly, you have a better chance of getting ahold of a Pandora capable battery than have a DeLorean in your driveway. Not a bad idea, either one of them.

Big Deal, Team C+D will surpass Sony’s little shceme. No Matter what, our group of intellectual hackers are far superior. There will be a Pandora 2, & 3. You think they stand a chance against the elite: Dark Alex(M33), Team Wildcard, Team C+D, Fanjita & the list goes on….

I think they made the new batterys pandora proof. This means you can’t wright anything to them they are read only EEPROM.

lol, read only EEPROM,…were you dropped on your head as a child? It could be read only ROM, or even read only PROM.

EEPROM = Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory,

therefore if it was EEPROM, it would be erasable.

dumbasses think they know whats going on.

    lmao

When will you people learn. I’ve been around since the days of the actual SNES scene and one things never changed.. The threats of the people who ran the scene to leave, stop coding, stop releasing etc.

Either they never do, or they actually do and are quickly replaced.

No need to freak out, someone will release something sooner or later.

It’s the way its always been, the way it will always be. The scene has always been full of drama.

Everything is always hacked, cracked and coded to work by someone. Don’t get me wrong, I got great respect for the people doing it now but if they go, someone else will fill there shoes. Quicker then expected I’m sure.

I purchased a used battery from Gameshack for $10 and turned it into a pandora, then added the normal boot loader to my spare memory sticks and can use it as a regular battery. I even converted my original battery to pandora! And am not upgrading to the M33-3.71 till I see a 1.5 kernell!
