Soon you’ll be left with a pile of PSP Slim parts scattered on your table while you stare and wonder, “how the hell do I put this thing back together?” AcidMods have prepared a step-by-step tutorial detailing the disassembly process. Unless you’re MacGyver, you need these tools:

  • 1x 0 or 00 Philip’s Screwdriver
  • 1x small tweezers
  • 1x small flat-head screwdriver

yay? You sound as if you are sure Sony will keep updating the PSP Phat for the rest of the PSP1 time. Here’s a rundown of Video Game history….

Atari Lynx….after the smaller version came out…no more old version
Sega…if it was turned into a portable, the system was coming to an end.
Gameboy….with each evolution..it ended the previous within 4 months.

Seeing as the Slim PSP has more to offer, and has more Flash RAM… I seriously doubt they will keep supporting the phat. It will be phased out, and the next time you want that brand new shiny game which requires a firmware feature not available on the phat’s firmware will be the end of it.

(it’s called Marketing, to get you to buy the newer system.)

Smart people see right thru this and just stick with the original. The new one will probably take forever to get all the kinks out while the old one is pretty much perfected. I’m staying with the old one.

Even if the old system is “perfect” because people have discovered the Pandora Battery, they are trying to eliminate this exploit. Even if, I am sure that the old version will be discontinued, and updates will be as well. Almost assuredly there will be a new Motherboard for the PSP Slim in a few months due to the Pandora Battery exploit. This isn’t about how perfect the system can be, it’s about securing the system vs. the hackers.

psp slim = man made gaming device
hackers = people who love the challenge.

sony corp vs hackers = never ending quest

sony stops making psp’s = no more hackers

psp has much to offer, why limit its features.

PSP = GAME, MOVIES, MUSIC, PHOTOS, homerbrew anyone?

The guy @ youtube who hates firmwares, is not human. He lacks emtotion like a rock or a raw turd on the streets.

:) You make something hackproof….they will make better hackers. :D

They had hackers in the days of the Cavemen….yeah…only problem was the rocks had limited memory, and the SDK was atrocious.

Well good thing this became a freaking debate on marketing and hacking cause I could have sworn this was about the DISASSEMBLY TUTORIAL! Leave the debates for the forums!
