snes9xTYL 0.4.2 — SNES Emulation Ported to the Slim

Posted by greg

Contra III SNES ScreenshotAhMan has ported YoyoFR’s Super Nintendo emulator over to firmware 3.xx kernels — I’m looking at you, PSP Slim owners.

Copy the “snes9xTYL” directory, found under “3.x”, to your memory stick.

The port removes USB mass storage support as it runs completely under “user mode” now. No biggie.

Download: snes9xTYL 0.4.2 (PSP Slim port)

now that most of the good homebrew can work for the slim&lite, once sony drops support of the phat, you get the best of both worlds. plus, i can’t wait to check the tv out on the slim :)

ok whats the deal with the PSP Slim anyway? I almost bought what i thought was a PSP Slim today, and im still not sure what the hell it was. Half the sources I have found or talked to, suggest that its the new PSP Slim, and otherwise it seems like it might just be a regular PSP with the newest firmware on it. And on one YouTube video it says the way to tell is that the speakers are on top, but the wifi button is on top too. So riddle me this…why is it that on the version thats out in stores right now (the silver one that comes with Jak and Daxter and the 1gb card and Family guy), has speakers on top but the wifi button is still in the same place? What the hell is going on? What is that thing? Are they coming out with a Slimmer better version soon or something? Or is that it?

The lights are in the same place. The switch is not.

why doesnt it mention on the box that its the new PSP Slim or PSP 2? or that its slimmer or has AV output or anything? The way that box looks, it just looks like a regular PSP except that its silver. And when I looked at the list of contents, there was no mention of an AV cable, so I guess that means I’d have to go buy one seperately?

ok i got one of these things, and it really is super light weight. im impressed with that. comes out of the box as version 3.60 though. got mine from Wal Mart. 15 day return policy though, if something goes wrong. one thing that really gets me is that they put this sticker on top of Daxter art, when they could have instead made it clear as a functional screen protector. what a waste for them to do that. the other thing is that there is no AV cable included, as i suspected. The cable I have for my dvd player wont work, and the audio interface cable that used to plug into the fat PSPs doesnt fit in this one. So I’m guessing its a proprietary AV cable format that we’re all going to get stuck buying as an extra item. But is it even out yet?

If it says PSP-2001 on the side of the box at the bottom, it’s the new one. Easy.

    To cHRS,

you need to use the 3.xx version and put it under GAME360 on your memstick (although that shouldn’t matter it worked for some.

This is a port of the old Version so it can run without the 1.5 Kernel. (Slim CFW doesn’t have it)
It will run on Slim & Phat PSPs with CFW.

All you have to do is have a regular battery and a memory stick along with the software and you can use the unbricking program to put custom firmware on your psp. It doesn’t require a special battery but you will have to get a new battery to be able to use your psp since after the process is done you can’t use the battery and with the memory stick you can recover it with another program.

    A correction to my post

You just have to buy a psp battery for the psp-1000 and use that for pandora. You don’t have to buy the larger psp.

I have the same problem as joey , program shows up under game-memory card but then stops and show error code 80020148 . Also roms in other folder say carupted.
so why is program locking up? and what do i have to do with roms? put in roms folder with program? or use certain program to transfer to mem stick?
also i think i updated to 3.63 or 3.64 can i go back to 3.60 or do i even have too?
please help i have used emulators on pc but first time on my psp-2000.
