PSP Mac OS X Theme

Posted by greg

This is somewhat old, so you may already be using it — but while we’re on the subject of XMB themes, check out the pimp factor…

PSP Mac OS X Theme

Very slick! Thanks to Kevin who directed my attention to it. And of course Team Inacor deserves their props for creating the theme. The download is intended for 3.52 M33 users. Happy theming!

I’m just going to assume you were talking about the scrolling, which was intentional. If you’ve ever used Front Row, Apple TV, or, and iPhone you would know why

toggle flash0 usb. There should be a file in this download that shows where each file is heading. Replace your original files with those and remember to back up the originals.

when I play Monster Hunter Freedom 2nd, the font seems to be too small ??
it uses font from jpn0.pgf? and how about font shadow.pgf? can I copy the original jpn0.pgf replace to shadow.pgf to retrieve the original font size?

    2007-09-05 17:27:28

I was just about to say that..
it screws up with the font size in Monster Hunter 2.
It makes all the letters small and unreadable..
Aside from that, It’s one of the best themes I’ve ever seen.

    2007-09-05 18:05:54

I tried different things and it seems that if u ONLY transfer over the vch folder it keep ur font regular/
This way it wont make ur games txt unreadable..
I prefer the original txt when using the internet browser.

Okay :D, My problem was resolved. May I have a right solution.
I have my Thai font in file ltn0.pgf.

Let’s start with copy all resource from AppleCor except my thai font, ltn0.pgf (maybe except your font).

Next, I delete SHADOW.PGF file, then copy ltn0.gpf to new file, and rename it to SHADOW.PGF. (delete first, for clear flash-storage space, otherwise you can not copy original jp0.pgf font file)

Final, I copy original jpn0.gpf override the AppleCor set (in font directory).

    Done

I can read the font as clearing as before I installed AppleCor. :)

But, I still find unreadable text for in download a new event quest. I can read nothing, see only black plain, if it’s not picture. I think MHF2 uses the font that AppleCor make it zero. This font ‘gb3s1518.bwfon’ may used by MHF2 in download mode. But, I can’t let it come back, caused of lacking a free space :’(

so you know, opening_plugin.rco or something named close to that, can be opened with an rco editor and you can extract the picture, edit it with photo shop, and replace it. mine says my full name on opening :D! also, has anyone had trouble with the blackground no longer saving to flash1 after customizing? i have had this trouble with two psps.

OK with my Problem is I would like to use this cool looking XMB I have a MAC and I am a APPLE person, I don’t care much for Windows other then ONLINE GAMES. But anyways, I would like to know in NOOB DETAIL on how to Install this so I could use this SKIN, I don’t care much for the SONY look, and would like this OS X look. READ ME SAYS: The big files have been compressed so there no need to have anything on your memory stick, just Delete the DIC folder if you need space, and flash the files to their corresponding locations.

you need 3.52 m33 custom firmware, if you dont have custom firmware yet, you can find great help on getting it to the firmware you wish. this isnt as much a skin as it is a modification of the actual psp firmware. it modifies prxes and rcos and all that good stuff. if you are an unlucky one with greater than 3.50 sony firmware, this will be impossible for you. visit us in the chat! :D

Hi…small problem, I can’t do anything in settings besides restart my PSP and look at network settings, thats the only button that does ANYTHING. All the other buttons just make a silly sound…

But I have only copied folders vsh and font. Not the wallpaper or the intro.pmf thing.

    Can anyone help?

Also it is true that Monster Hunters Freedom 2 (an awesome game) has unreadable text with this.

YES I have the 3.52 M33 4 Firmware I’m not that much of a NOOB lol but yes to answer your question ASH and FERRIS I do have the Custom FW on it. I put everything in the folder’s it says for the Little Apple Movie Intro, which I could care less, I just want the XMB to look like it does in this PICTURE on here. As I said in the other thing I wrote, the READ ME is all simple for the people who know how this stuff works already, Im guessing its something to do with FLASHING it into the PSP itself But HOW ? I hve no clue ? Im just wondering How I do it, I’ll most likely have to go in the FORUM and ask, but that will take forever to find the right place to put it and bla bla, so I would just rather ask on here. If any of you know that would be great, thanks.

lol…..sorry to judge you dude, but anyways, first you would have to go into recovery mode. if you don’t know how, sorry if you did lol completely shut off your psp, then turn it on while holding the R shoulder button. once there, you will see different options, navigate to the fourth option witch is “Advanced” then click on it. once there you will see more options, navigate to the one that says “Flash0″ and press it to toggle the usb. for future references if you want to customize your psp always go to toggle flash0. once your usb is enabled go into whatever drive your psp is in. you will then see six folders, go into the one that says “VSH”, and then the “Resource” folder. once in the resource folder you will see a whole bunch of files that makes up your appearance of your psp. first, before you do anything, make sure you make a backup of those files to your desktop or whatever just in case the theme doesn’t work. now that’s done ,go into the applecor theme then, go into the vsh folder, and then resource. copy those files that you see into the resource folder on your psp, it’s going to ask you to overwrite, just pick “yes to all”. The theme also has a nodule folder so copy the files from there and then paste it into your nodule folder in your psp which should be next to the resource folder on your psp. After that it should work just exit out and see it for yourself. Oh yeah, one more think make sure your battery is charged with the ac adapter still plugged in to lower the chances of bricking your psp.

    Hope this helps a lot.

    Ash.

Then when I go to put my BACK UP’s back on there I get a DISK IS FULL when copying it all back on there, It seems to work fine still when I turn it back on, But I dont get why it says DISK IS FULL when I’m copying the backup’s back on there, is there on extra file that doesn’t get used or what ?

    2007-09-07 05:50:36

wow really? yeah some people had problems with this too, i don’t know what happened. i got mine when it first came out but not on this site here is the link. this sites download is probably messed up or something.

    http://www.consolespot.net/index.php?page=4

oh yeah and about your flash space there’s no tool for 3.52 m-33 users to add more space like other custom firmwares. so you would have to downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade again. here is another link for that. (the actual download is at #1 you’ll understand once you’re there).

    http://boardsus.playstation.com/rss/message?board.id=psp&message.id=3019299

then you would have to download the 1.50 eboot and rename it to UPDATE.pbp and put it in the recovery folder you just downloaded. after that place it in the game folder not g.150 and then run the 3rd option in recovery mode to downgrade.

doing this will also rewrite flash0 so the files that you lost will come back even more space. then of course upgrade again and try the theme.

Awesome guys thanks allot, It works now. Only thing I did was I took my Back Up FONTS folder and copied it back on because the FONTS that come with it was making my Letters all weird looking. And another thing I noticed thats weird, is when I go to copy my Back Up’s back on to the PSP on the PC and MAC it gives me the thing saying NOT ENOUGH FREE SPACE so I just click ok on the MAC and Cancel on the PC and the psp seems to be fine ? Any clue why it doesnt take all the files when I go to copy them back on, I mean no complaints but I find that to be weird. Well Thanks again to those who helped :D

    2007-09-07 19:29:17

flashing requires a certain amount of flash space, so the more you use it ie: customizing psp, the more space/memory is taken.

Well anyways Im loving this OS X look its soo much better then the SONY one :D

    Comment by Ash
    2007-09-10 10:53:17

does the green light go off in ten seconds? because if it did, you fully bricked your psp. it can be fixed, you just need to use that unbricker thingy that came out a while ago.

i think the problem was when you said you “deleted everything”, and then put the backups on. when the theme is on your psp and you don’t want it, copy and paste the backups on it don’t delete the theme and then copy the backups.
