Use the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for PSP Gaming!
greg | August 26, 2007
Quite a nifty hack jay123_2 has managed to pull off using a combination of pre-existing apps/tools for the PSP & Windows. Now play PSP games using the Xbox 360 wireless controller!
Requirements:
- 360 PC receiver (something like this…)
- USBHostFS for Windows
(with generic gamepad / joystick support) - iR Shell v3.60
Instructions:
- Run configure_joypad.exe from the USBHostFS package
- Configure your Xbox 360 wireless controller & save the profile
- Start usbhostfs.exe
- Start iR shell and go to iR configuration settings; set options accordingly:
Redirect APP View to Host: Enable
Redirect Keypad to Host: Via usbhost0
Allow Adhoc PC Connection for Homebrew: Enable - Configure NetHost settings so they reflect your home network
- Save & test it out
At a loss? Confused? Check out the discussion thread for further assistance. Nice work, dude.

sweet
amazing
what about Fps games like ghost recon 2 and others?
can it be configured for games like that?
no you will still have 1 joystick
Yeah pretty gay there buty.
Seems to lag. I rather have both analog buttons to work for FPS games.
Will I be able to use 2 joysticks in FPS games if I use this also?: http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php/topic,3001.0.html
wow seems pretty useless IMO..
Not bad to have, and im always glad to see new things for the psp but i dont see myself doing this..
would be good if a had a 360 controller…
mmm…. I would definately use this hack if I had a 360 controller and a Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows xD
Anybody knows if you can you use the Wire Xbox 360 Controller, the same ones that work with Windows ?
been there done that. was mentioned in the readme and help file packed with extreme link
what games is that?god of war?
the game is medievil…
can you get this to work for the ps3 controller ……it would be nice….i dont have xbox sux…
It doesnt matter if its xbox because if you search around for ps3 adapters for pc it will work. (Hint!!!!!!!!!!)
Nice work! love the Development scene.
I would love to see the logitech wireless controllers working! I use them between my ps2 and pc. Enabled by using a $5 doller 2 port ps2 controller to usb adaptor that allows me to use the two logitech ps2 controllers on my pc.
Then I would have 3 uses for those sweet controllers. Again excellent work.
He’s using the wrong USBHostfs for the Xbox controller. read here http://trading-post.sytes.net:6969/forum/viewtopic.php?t=250
If you buy that 360 PC receiver from Amazon in the link Greg gives, you can actually save one whole cent. What a bargain, eh?
why doesnt anyone get the point of this ????
1.psp doesnt have 2 anologs so theres no point in thinking it could work with 2 anologs tho the second anolog could be mapped as buttons so in theory yeh it can work for fps games.
2.this little program will be a god send when you have your psp hooked up to your tv and your sitting back playing a game with a wireless controller.
great work !!!! kudos
Very true. “Oh, I can’t use 2 analog’s in FPS? WTF, useless.”
It’s a hack to use X360 controller, not a game hack to change the controls.
funny i’ve tested this out a very long time ago! kind of thought everyone already new this!:)
hey this is great for having your psp mounted in the car then the kid cant get it all sloppy…good work.

Well I can understand this would be pointless for PSP games since it only has one analog stick but what about PSX emus? If it works I wonder if it also enable rumble?
how do u configure the xbox 360 controller
Reconfig the 2nd analog to the buttons… Then Switch setting on MPO BAM you’re a headshot aiming moving machine!
