M33 Custom Firmware 3.52 Update #4 (3.52 M33-4)

Just a quick one…
- Fixed the bug that caused CRC error when writing to flash usb in the XMB. Now writing is OK.
- Added the new speeds to vshmenu and core, because we forgot in recovery.
AS we didn’t want to release a new update without something new, we worked in making 3.10/3.11 to work with popsloader, and that’s it, the new popsloader plugins supports them. Instruction for 3.10 and 3.11 are same as 3.30: you need pops.prx, popsman.prx and pafmini.prx with the correct names in popsloader directory. And remember that savedata of 3.10-3.30 are incompatible
with those of 3.40+. We’ll research if a solution for this is possible.
The update is safe, I can assure you this. Details concerning the recent bricks and whatnot, have a glance over the “README_EN.TXT” file. It’s rather humorous. Kudos Team, stick it to ‘em!

popsloader – is kernel of your PSX emulator.
In different _official’s_ fw – _different_ versions of popsloader.
Plugin, that comes with 3.52-2-3-4 updates, can select the kernel (popsloader version) of PSX emulator, and you can select the optimal version for you.

How do you mount your video iso?
Mine is in the correct directory \ISO\VIDEO\Movie.iso
But iI do not see it any where? UMD is inserted and UMD Normal Mode.
Home key shows the ISO VIDEO MOUNT but can’t change it from none?
How do I get this mounted. Should it show up in the game menu with the other iso’s?

Hey mate, listen, if you really like the benefits of 1.50 you have nothing to lose from upgrading to 3.52m33…….why? because its like having 3.52 and 1.50 running at the same time. E.G: if say you wanted to run a game emu that required 1.50, all you need to do is place the emu and roms in the GAME1.50 folder. Plus you have ISO loader which means you no longer need fastloader to load ISO’s. But if you really want to flash back and forth try using psp upgrader/downgrader by bob joe it will make very easy work of it.

i had a problem turning my psp off after entering the m33 VSH menu & changing the clock XMB speed but its not happening anymore ?
Never mind. Just a quick bug. Had to use recovery boot homebrew which doesn’t work with this new recovery menu then turned it off. Man, that was scarry.

You cant use a software downgrade. you need to get a modchip.
I’ve been getting some lock-ups on these M33 FWs. I don’t know why, but, the only way I can access my files through USB, is through the recovery menu. It locks up trying to do it through the XMB, same goes for trying to connect to the internet, and a couple of other things. Maybe if I get a fresh copy of 1.5 and then put M33 back on here? It’s really annoying.
Have you reset to default settings? Are you using unstable custom icons/font… etc.
Yep, every thing is on default, switched back to default XMB icons/fonts, still does it. I don’t know why. How would one go about re-flashing 1.5, it’s been a LONG time since I’ve done it.
Downgrader from official Sony 3.52 firmware is extremely difficult to find and it is not available here due to copy rights. Use Google… you will succeed sooner or later. In the meantime read more about your PSP on this site.

OK Good Work M33, although there a lot of updates and stuff :D IMO I think you guys should get all the bugs fixed in one go instead of a update every week. It’s like Your-Mom fansub group if you ever watch anime and download their torrents. Let me explain, they are NOT the best group out there if they release stuff faster than anyone else. I prefer a fansub group that takes time with their releases rather than a speedsub group. Same thing applies here.

3.52m33 has less bugs for me than 3.40OE…so it is fine by me, and with added functionality from the updates, im with all the people that think m33 is good, EVERYTHING ive needed and tried works great…

The M33 crew needs to grow the fuck up. I like the stuff they have released but really. Making the users pay for someone elses mistake is pathetic.
I resent them more than the ps3news people. Grow up people. It is your fucking fault you put in the malicious code in which bricks psp. You knew that this would happen and peoples psp’s would brick. This makes you jerkoffs. Frickin hell, my donation is going elsewhere now. If they are going to pull crap like this i would rather they start hacking the gizmondo rather than putting in code they know will (directally or indirectally) cause peoples psp’s to brick.
All I can say is I like the customfirmwares that aren’t so needy. I can already use ISO, CSO, and all the homebrew I want. I have 3.40*LE and the only problem I have is not enough memory when on the net. I appreciate what they are doing, but it’s already been done better so why waste your time on it? If it was REALLY 3.52 that would be cool, but it’s not. I think it’s running 3.10 and emulating 3.52-and that’s just gay. Seriously, why downgrade custom firmware? Why not have 3.40 emulate 3.52? Or just make a new customfirmware 3.52? I just don’t understand how we went from “everything you can do and then some”, to “you have to get a different version, some bootloader, change kernel, change folder name, edit this with notepad, etc” I like seeing new things, but I have yet to find out why this isn’t a waste of development skills. I’m not trying to piss anyone off, just pointing out that there’s better things you could be working on…

forums on this site, I don’t remember exactly which one. Probably another M33 comment page. And if it’s not true, then what exactly is the firmware emulation? because from what I’ve read it’s not really 3.52.
the firmware emulation stuff is for POPS only, some of the different firmwares POPS played certain(very limited but a few) psx games better than the newer releases, if you want to play some of those games, you need the older pops…

you would have to upgrade to 3.03 and use the 3.03 downgrader wich requires an unpatched version of GTA LCS wich has the 2.00 update.
Also, if you can’t find the unpatched version of GTA if you want, you can upgrade to 3.50 and use it’s downgrader, but the catch is……..lumines is required.
so you have two options of downgrading i suggest waiting till you can get a hold of just one of these games before just upgrading to a downgradable firmware
If people choose to download installers/updates from other websites then they are very foolish. If these files are altered by idiots that don’t know what they are doing and cause the update/installer to fail resulting in a bad flash (brick) then these people are to blame not M33.

All you need to do is copy to your memstick and enable the POPSLoader in the Recovery menu. IV also included v3.51 and 3.52 so it should be future proof

You need to replace your wifi card, then use a program to set the mac address of the PSP to the wireless card to get wifi back. This is what I had to do to fix this error.
I find it disturbing that individuals who have taken great pains, to enable advanced functionality from an otherwise mediocre game unit, receive such negative comments. Last I checked, they have not required payment for said services. They have simply done this out of the kindness of their hearts (and perhaps the proverbial “15 minutes of fame”). To those who would seek to speak out against said individuals, I can only say what has been said so many times, Make something better then! You are not being forced to use this software, and everyone has been cautioned over and over again about the possible risks involved with it’s use. Having said that, M33 has my support, as they are still “In it to win it” and DAX has left the scene. His work was indeed revolutionary and with out it, we wouldn’t be where we are today. But alas his input (as far as we know. wouldn’t it be ironic if DAX and M33 where one and the same? anyway…) is no longer with us and we must rely on the work of those who would take up the cross so to speak. So, unless any of the “nay sayers” would like to put their money where their mouth is and come up with something better, take it or leave it. A final side note, if memory serves me right, the Open Edition firmwares went through their fair share of updates SE,SE-B, B’, B”,C, OE-A, A’, B, C etc.

Yeah, blah blah, just been reading the updates of the whole ps3news thing at their site. Sure i understand that ps3news sucks, and their forum members are almost as immature and conceited as the members of this site, but endangering the accused’s family seems pretty fucked up to me. I’ve lost a lot of respect for M33/wildcard and even Dax. Maybe they are just a bunch of zitty antisocial teens too smart for their own good.

Can someone please give me a concise description of when this firmware will make a brick (due to the PS3NEWS stuff)…
As I understand it at the moment, it will brick if:
1) You use an altered copy due to the MD5 hash not matching
2) You have PS3NEWS located in your PSP browser cache
Are these the ONLY times it will brick?
Also, can someone PLEASE post the damn MD5 of a WORKING RAR file.. this way we can be sure it is correct before we use it… I have no idea why M33 did do this themselves, I dont mind them protecting themselves but why does it have to brick, simply not update would be a better option…
need help! i now using M33-2. but when i try to update it show “cannot write usbdevice.prx” What happen?
i updated from M33-2 with no problem, and i never had that problem. if you still can’t get a proper update i suggest downgrading and upgrading again. this should work.
It so unlucky day :( I just update to CFW 3.52 M33 #4 and now my recovery will not work and on top of that all my homebrews render powerless. When I select a homebrew at XMB ‘Games’… it hang at the Sony logo. Looks like I need the Pandora battery already, but its so dissapointed. Here is what I did:
Before I update to CF 3.52 M33 #4, my system is CF 3.52 M33 #2… I never update to #3 coz I heard of the latest M33 #3 fiasco. before my update to #4….My M33 #2 has plugin for music.prx and leen.prx only (the XMB version of recovery from wildcard). I also update my flash 0 for the this recovery. With this settigs, I proceed to run the M33 #4 update. The update is successful, but then I select the homebrew, it hangs and worst is when I do hard reset power off to go to the recovery… it won’t work anymore… so sad :(
Yahooo! I already found the problem. I removed the leen.prx (LE Recovery for 3.52 M33) in the seplugins directory and its entry in vsh.txt, game.txt and game150.txt and everthing is back to normal. The LE Recovery for M33 update #2 will NOT work on update #4, I wonder why? hmm :)

I updated to M33-4 from M33-2, i got update 4 from this site as well as all my other updates i ever performed on my psp, update was successful but my psp is bricked, any ideas why this happened, im reading about ps3news dl and MD5, the brick is not a problem since i can reflash in recovery but i would like to update to M33-4 without another brick
