Custom Firmware 3.52 Update M33-3 Released

My apologies for the delay on this one, but last night’s MapThis! celebration went a little overboard… ;) Not going into much detail, I’ll let Team M33’s (English) readme cover the logistics.
M33-3 changes:
- Added more speeds: 75 and 133.
- Added flash2 and flash3 usb to recovery
- Added a setting in recovery to change the usb device to which XMB will connect.
- Added “vshmenu”, which is a menu that will appear when HOME is pressed in the XMB. It will interfere with existing XMB plugins that use HOME, so it can be disabled in recovery.
- Added umd video iso support. The umd video isos are playes using vshmenu. Video isos go in /ISO/VIDEO folder. They require an UMD inserted because NO-UMD does not work.
M33-3 popsloader changes:
- Support for 3.30 firmware. Instructions are same as in previous release, except 3.30 firmware did not have libpspvmc.prx, so just ignore that file.
- Warning: There is an incompatibility between 3.30 savedata and later ones. If a savedata exists from 3.40+, the emulator
will freeze.
Some notes about the usage of vshmenu, and umd video isos:
- vshmenu cannot be loaded when the browser is active. If you exit the browser, the firmware will still keep it in memory until you enter other area of xmb, until you do so, you will not be able to access vshmenu again either.
- video isos and the game isos show in xmb use the same core. Due to this, when you enter in game menu and there is some iso, if a video iso was currently mounted, it will automatically be unmounted.
- cso format is not supported for video isos.
- UMD audio isos are theoretically supported, but not tested. They go to /ISO/VIDEO.

i can confirm, i updated from 3.55-M33-2 and now i think it bricked. What the hell is this, i turn on the psp..the green light is on but i cant get a video….the recovery screen doesnt come up….! ANY HELP ?
If you downloaded it from PS3News.com then it’s programmed to brick your PSP..sorry..same thing will happen if you are AT ALL affiliated with PS3News.com.. M33 hates them because they stole code..read the full legal.txt for more info.

*sigh* those who are “bricking” their PSPs with this update did NOT read the license.txt file… also the readme explains how to “unbrick” in these cases.
The bricking is intentional by M33 for certain people.. I do not think it is a good idea for them to do this as it hurts innocent psp owners more than the people they are trying to hurt
I’ll still wait a bit b4 updating cause there isn’t any real need for me to do so right now. The only thing I really need right now is for the icons in the game menu to load faster. Other than that, I’m happy with my 3.52 m33-2 CFW.

Reset to default settings. It’ll just change name date and time and stuff and your internet browser will then work fine.

Apparently this will check your pc’s ie history…………..it’s almost malicious software in my opinion.

just make sure u know where the firmware was released from before u use it and DONT DELETE ANY FILE (README ETC)

well i think it might just be time for me to use the wilcard firmware instead if they can make 3.52 cfw, because i’m too scared to use this because of the ps3news. i dont remember going on it, but i could have followed a link by somebody off a forum and not realised, or somebody else could have done it on my pc. It’s a shame becuase i have always said i shall stick to M33 over wildcard because they were first to the scene, i just hope you won’t use this tactic in all firmwares, because you will make me donate to other makers, i donate quite alot of money as well.
okay i have cfw 3.03 oe-c. i wanna upgrade to 3.52 m33 now that i can’t get psptube to run on my psp. I have one question: how would i go about installing 3.52 m33 if i have 3.03 OE-C installed already?

It can’t check your PC browser (it’s a PSP program) and it does not brick from having the ps3suck site in your PSP’s browser cache or bookmarks, I just tested it. It does have a built in md5 check and will brick if the eboot has been modified, which that site does. Bottom line, download from a trusted source and you should be fine.
Another upgrade but no PSX disc swapping in popsloader yet >.>

yeah, you do need to update if you want 100% working NO-UMD, faster loading of your ISO games and if you want to be able to play ISO UMD movies.
i don’t use iso files! it is a waste of memstick space, maybe if the umd drive quits working. but i let a 3 year old play with the psp and the games they are verry well protected and work great.

FF7 plays fine for my m33-2, beaten the entire game actually, without any freezes…

nah, its a cfw, u have the abilities of fw 1.5 and of fw 3.52 at the same time i guess thats the easiest way to put it :)

i went from 340 oe to m-33 just download there creator and the firmware follow the readme from team M-33 then update using game150 folder really eazy you dont have to downgrade upgrade with the 352 creator then use the updates

Anybody else notice vshanalog (the plugin to let you use the analog stick instead of the d-pad in the xmb) makes it so you can’t hit home for the extra menu?
Also, don’t see how people are bricking, mine worked fine. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 3.52 M33 Update 2 before applying update 3.

I updated from 3.52 to 3.52-3 skipping the 3.52-2 update. All is fine. Did not brick my psp…. I have been reading on http://www.pspupdates.com website that there is a fake update that people are downlading and installing causing the BRICK…
No, its the real update..but LAMER sites (PS3news) hexxed it and M33 coded it so that if anything was changed in the code/eboot it would brick any psp it was installed upon
just ran this update and it works great!! Downloaded it from here and runs perfect. Cool features too, love the direct access to the umd from xmb, more like ripping my xbox games now…

Where can i download video ISO’s??? which site? or torrents??
Video ISO’s are 1.5GB (not worth it)and this is not compatible if you compress them. So just convert your Videos to MP4 with PSP Video 9 as before and you’re good to go.
Why would you download a 1 GB+ file when you can convert your own goddamn AVIs thus making them 300-400 MB ?

How about playing iso games from the pc. I can´t get the IRShel to work, is there another way for doing it. And by the way thanks for the CFW. Have just upgrade from 3.10 OE’A to this on. But I’m missing the cool plug in from 3.10 OE-A. That make it possible to see my games on the pc, in the XMB. Just by holding the square bottom..
