Unofficial NesterJ NES Emulator 1.11 RM (Rewind & Mirror Mods)

greg | August 6, 2007

Boom bam, DAVEX in this jam. You were all gawking at DAVEX’s RIN GB/GBC release when the added ability of rewinding your actions came into play. Now do the same with Ruka’s Nintendo (NES) emulator, NesterJ! Persons who dug mirror mode can also use that.

To recapitulate…

“…With rewind (or “sands of time”, if you prefer) you can warp back in time without worrying about saving states. If you made a mistake, you can press “rewind” button and undo it….”

“…In mirror mode, like it’s name says, all graphics are horizontally inverted. So, if your favorite platform game is played from left to right, this time you can have the choice of playing it from right to left, giving it a little novelty touch…”

Thanks to Ruka for his original developments, and DAVEX for his added touch of dopeness.

1942!

Very impressive I must say. I’ll definitely download this and give it a whirl. Very useful trying to perfect speed runs IMO.

While this is a VERY cool concept, I’m finding limited success with it. Some games freeze up the PSP entirely when I try to ‘rewind’, and once you choose a ROM, you’re stuck.. changing ROMS also freezes up the PSP.

I hope you continue development on this, ’cause once it’s running as intended, this could breathe new life into these classic games.

Eh, I just got to test it out.

Freezes on me on 3.52 M33-2.

Oh well, I’m still happy that this will be in production.

i was excited when i 1st saw a new release of nes but not so when all it is is added functions ,i mean is it just me or does this emu’s sound stop working after running a few roms then needing a reboot to get sound working again,i wish that could be fixed as its an awsome emu and mabe even my fav emu on psp.

NesterJ is, hands down, the best console emulator for the PSP. But going by the reports in this thread, once the author gets his add-on sorted out, this should make the best emulator even better.

stable ad-hoc would be the best thing to come along in a while in the emulation scene

Noob. Have been reading various forums, most of which are a couple years old.
I’m running 3.52. Dropped the emu into the right folder, but I get the classic “The game could not be started. (80020148)” error.
What am I missing? I just picked up this PSP earlier this summer because I travel a LOT and it’s my new “ooh, shiny object.”

Also, what is the most reliable means to dump iso’s of games onto the PSP?

Sorry for the noob questions, but that’s what I am. You can e-mail me at dburgfeld(at)att(dot)net or post here. I will check back often.

Thanks in advance for your help!
