Custom Firmware “Open Edition” Source Code Released

I saw this the other day but refrained from posting it; the readme clearly indicates why… I knew there was something fishy going on, my Ninja-like sense never fail me.
Any who, that aside… Some fellows who refer to themselves as “The Wildcard Team” have successfully reverse engineered Dark_AleX’s OE custom firmware. They are now releasing their work to the public; perhaps developers can build on this by further enhancing the use & functionality of custom firmwares. It makes sense, hence the name, “Open Edition.” Right?
Great contribution to the scene guys — hope to see more from you!

Dax was a legend in making the OE firmware, but what does DAX’s OE do that M33’s CF doesn’t.
M33’s CF does everything dax’s did plus incorporate a better no-umd feature and runs games faster.
Seems that M33 has released a firmware better that DAX imo.

ok……this is the files that made custom firmware (its for psp programmers pretty much) so that they can decrypt the files and improve on the custom firmware.)
if your a programmer (a psp one) and you want to learn how to make custom firmware for it then this is what you need. it seems more like a learning tool though.
pointless to alot of you because you probably dont know how to decrypt the files anyway -___- as much as i hate the psp (went through my 6th one because it fucked up and burned out. the wifi stoped working, the backlight went out, and my memory stick wouldnt detect, buttons stoped working (1 and r and the bar at the bottom)….)
so i just threw it away because it was pretty much un-usable.
i am not getting another one until the slim model comes out (im getting the star wars model lol) so i guess i will use these files for information research. i was working on a bochs update but then i got banned from this site (i still dont even know why seeing as though my account was hacked and some person got me banned!)
but when i did get banned, i gave up on that and this sites forums. i have talked with the mods, wrote to greg but none of them seem to believe me so i just gave up.
but when those slimmer psp’s come out, then i will get back into it.

this is bullshit, it impossible to reverse assembly to C with a one to one relationship
You can take any C/C++ and convert it to Assembly, and the other way around. The only thing is that you might need to modify a few things to get it to work.
I have to laugh at all the people who hate M33…. DAX left, he’s not coming back…. now get over it… who should all be happy someone is continuing what DAX started… M33 runs really good, I have had zero problems, and issues people have with it at the idiots that run incompatible Theme’s/Plugins/etc… people act like this is the first time its happened, when DAX released a new OE Firmware everything had to be updated to work with it… and for those that continue to hate M33, I say stick with your outdated OE firmware because we don’t want you…

I don’t understand why you don’t like people who develop Custom Firmwares for you to run all kind off iso’s and homebrew.

Stop complaining!! D-A work was great! M33 Job is great also. The custom firmwares are THE SAME!! They look and act the same!! D-A Just got scare by Sony and maybe left the scene, or he might be on another name, how about M33? N E ways M33 works fine so install it I recommended ZERO COMPLAINS 2 ME AND ALL THAT I HAVE INSTALLED.
I think Dark Alex is still alive… running covertly under another team, and “leaked” his source code out, and they are just saying it was reversed engineered to cover.
dax left us in the dark. M33 brought us a candle. I thank M33 for allowing me to use up to date firms unlike some reverse engineered out dated firm.

I Am not at all A noob at this, but after trying M-33’s Stuff My 300- March To Glory does not work, and even my friends backup does not work, I have 100-125 Real UMD’s but yet there are many that does not work… what did M-33 do, this supposely Sony UMD thng, I have tried all, what did they do young lads ?

i hate to tell you all this but DAX has stopped work with OE firmwares. You wont believe me, bu i have a mate on msn who has worked with mathieulh, researching flash 0 and 1. and he chats to DAX, and he is not making firmwares anymore
i also heard that dark alex spoke out about look at maxconsole forums they have it there
