iR Shell 3.61 Update Released

greg | August 5, 2007

StoneCut & AhMan have released an iR Shell maintenance version which corrects the following issues:

  • Fixed screen corruption while changing CPU speed in PS1 games.
  • Retained the overclock speed after exiting game/app while nethostfs is active.
  • Fixed adhoc PC nethostfs connection problem. You no longer need to mess with the wlan switch.
  • The MP3 will now resume at the exact position when switching firmware versions (1.5 iR Shell to 3.x iR Shell, or vice versa).
  • Fixed the nethostfs crashing when fails to connect to the server. Nethostfs should no longer crash the PSP.
  • Fixed autoboot plugin problem with some configurations. The updated version should fix the issue.

Rather than me reiterate what iR Shell is all about, and how truly awesome it is, read here. My word, you’ll dig this app.

Props:

  • Dark_AleX for his previous contributions & help in iR Shell development. We hope you enjoyed hacking the PSP. Happy retirement and we wish you best of luck for your future endeavors.
  • Team M33 for continuing DA’s work and their help in fixing M33 firmware compatibility issues with iR Shell.
  • All iR Shell private forum and unofficial forum members for their contributions, including donations, testing, skin making, plugins, etc.

@raddad

I haven’t come across any bugs or crashes from iRshell itself. Did you configure it properly?

Use a UMD, better chances of games running.

Bunch of noobs… seriously… This app is awesome if you know how to use it properly. If you don’t find it will serve any useful purpose for you, simply don’t install it. If it’s crashing all the time, reinstall it and check the configurations. As with any homebrew, it’s prone to have glitches and bugs, and that’s exactly why they release updates like this one. Hell, look at how many Windows updates you gotta do if you install XP today… over 200.

If you don’t like it, don’t use it and stfu. For those that can really enjoy this awesome app, rock on.

Hi,

For all you people running ISOS from irshell, please keep in mind that irshell is taking up resources before you ever load a game. If you are playing a game that uses little resources like a game with little animation, then you may not notice any glitches, but if you try to load for example and of the need for speed games that max out the system resources with movement, then you will see choppiness or may crash the game all together. It’s best to exit irshell altogether to play high movement games..

Just my opinion.

I love this program though. the psp to psp transfer function alone is worth using it for me.

Keep up the good work :)
