The #1 PSP multi-tasking shell is now sittin’ fresh at version 3.6… Welcome a special iR Shell release brought to you by AhMan and StoneCut. Take a quick glance over the User Guide’s table of contents; you will be quite shocked to see what iR Shell has to offer. My favourite feature highlight…
Allow listening to any of your favorite mp3s while playing UMD games, Backups or homebrews. You can optionally mute the game specific audio channels while playing mp3s. For example, you may want to play your own mp3s and mute the in-game music, but leave the game sound effects intact.
New features…
- Added support for Team M33’s newest custom firmware (See note 1). If you don’t want to update to M33, you will still be able to use this new release with older OE firmwares
- Launch and multi-task with PS1 games from within iR Shell (works also via USBhostFS and NetHostFS) (see note 2)
- Backup ISO plugins now integrated into iR Shell 1.5 EBOOT and 3.5x EBOOT (also supports USBhostFS and NetHostFS)
- Backup UMD Video ISO support (also supports USBhostFS and NetHostFS)
- Direct switching between 1.5 EBOOT and 3.5x EBOOT via new shortcut combo
- System-wide “Quick Exit” function to quickly shutdown games, homebrew etc and return to iR Shell
- Improved Autoboot to iR Shell plugin
- New Comic Reader plugin based on PSPComic for CBZ and CBR files by suloku - Original version by Archaemic
- Added the ability to flash/blink the menu highlighting cursor.
- Added support for adhoc PC nethostfs connection under 3.xx CFWs (some additional firmware files required)
- Added a new config item in configurator to turn on/off the Music button for screen capture.
- Other bugfixes and tiny improvements.
Notes…
- CFW 3.51 M33 Original version, 3.51 M33-2 (patch 2 with WLAN fix) and 3.52 M33 are supported. 3.51 M33-3 to 7 (patch 3 to 7) are not supported due to a sceKernelLoadExecVSH bug which had been fixed in 3.52 M33.
- The launching of PS1 games via USBHostFS & NetHostFS works on all OE firmwares and also 3.51 M33 Original & Patch 2. The latest 3.52 M33 firmware currently has issues when launching user converted PS1 games via USBHostFS & NetHostFS, but PSN store purchased games works fine. Team M33 is currently looking into the issue.

Important note for OE firmware users
The original download contained wrong instructions for users of older OE custom firmwares. The irspatch.prx needs to go in flash0:/kn/ (and NOT kd). You can delete the irspatch.prx from the kd folder. Make sure you add it to the flash0:/kn/pspbtcnf_game.txt as instructed, though. The rest of the instructions are correct.
The files have been updated and now also contain the revised instructions for OE users. I’m really sorry about that mistake !

I get “error starting application” when executing PSX eboots. I also tried Tony Hawk 8 and Tales Of The World, which also did not work. Any suggestions? I am under 3.52 m33 with homebrew set to 1.50, and I have run the btcnfpatch…

i instelled and do everything tahat has to be done and when i open irshell for 3.xx my psp freezes after 5 seconds and i have to restart it! why? 1.5 version works fine..

UMD emulation doesn`t work through IRSHELL, it now says “no disc inserted”
ive got wireless gameing from pc to work fine using iR Shell 3.6 and psp host saves transfering them to mem stick every time you want to try another plus when u cant be arsed :D

lol i noticed an incorrect spelling in there writing lol. i enabled the auto boot for the homebrew and baisically my 3.30oe isnt supported for auto boot on this program so when i do the auto boot with the homebrew it says “unsupported firmware version dectected” lol the miss spled detected lol.
by the way have they released a new pronto hex code pack for this homebrew?

Hey i donno if yall are haveing the problem im having im running 3.52m33 and the ir shell boots and loads and all but like after like 10 seconds maybe the thing freezes and shuts off anyone got any ideas on what i may have done wrong here?

I thought USBhostfs.exe and NEThostfs.exe,for windows are supposed to be supplied with this release ? I can`t find them anywhere

edit: i believe it doesnt work because the psp is incabable of running more than two programs at the same time…………..or is that just in the background

Yes, but I’m not sure how to set it up. Can someone that got iso streaming to work say how they did it?
I’m running Team M-33’s 3.52 CFW and this new version of iRShell doesn’t work, I followed the install instructions exactly, and when it tries to load iRShell, it starts up with the SCE screen, then repeats that constantly, the only way I can stop it is to pop my battery out of the PSP, put it back in, and bypass loading iRShell. I can’t even get into iRShell, which is saddening because I had this program before I put an OE firmware on there, and of course, it didn’t work on that, and now, it won’t work for me. Help please.
And i’ve also disabled any autoboots and what not in the CFW’s Recovery menu, and still no luck.

Once again, i’ve corrected my own problem, I re-installed iRShell and now I have no problems. Now if only I could get to irshell.org and download the rest of the remotes, at this moment the bandwith is exceeded….but soon…have fun.
I love this shell, I still used the 3.1 version up till now. how it get all the way up to 3.6 without me knowing?? Thanks Ahman and psp hacks for the upload

I see the Backup UMD Video ISO support. Does this mean this version can play backup UMD iso Videos or only make backups.
Attention all 3.52 m33 users, i figured out how to run it….
1) run the old irshell [it should come with it]
2) press L+R at the same time
3) then press “square”
4) run IR Shell v3.6
Can you make it so that it launches right away when i put my psp on?
yes, you can make it so it launches right away
to play iso’s over wifi … download this (irshell 3.6) and psphost 2.0 on this site and install psphost on pc and right click icon at bottom right of screen and click “enable wifi” now on psp make sure u have a connection to your router under network infrastructure or whatever loadup irshell goto config scroll down to “xmb network for nethost” this is the network to router and the next 2 lines under that are for your pc ip .. if u dont know ya pc ip click start/run/ type cmd in dos promp type ipconfig and chuck the first line into the 2 lines under the network connection
so should look something like

Quick question about the UMD modes?
I only show: “UMD Required” and “OE No UMD Mode”, where is the sony and M33 option, did I miss something or a step? The “OE No UMD Mode” doesn’t work with burnout.

One more thing, about the mp3 pluggin. It lacks support for lower hrtz. It plays them like chipmunks really fast. The Sony player does not mind them on the other hand. Will this be updated to support more mp3 formats. I like to put audio CDs on there and convert them usually to 64bit with the hrtz at 32, 22, or even 11 hrtz.
