JoySens v1.11 — Analog Stick Sensitivity Plugin

greg | July 27, 2007

Update: JoySens seems to have elicited a nice response in the PSP community, and now Raphael has released a new version implementing the majority of v1.01 TODO items…

JoySens v1.11 changes:

  • Added better calibration method (keeps the axis scale in range)
  • Fixed automatic calibration function (gives pretty reliable results now) and moved vertical and horizontal calibration into one function
  • Added a movement smooth factor (how much changes in the axes get scaled, the lower the smoother any movement gets recognized)
  • Added an adjust parameter which controls the exponent of the adjustment function (default 3.0 meaning a cubic form)
  • Added button mapping configuration
  • Fixed a small error in the axis mapping, where values were mapped in range -127 to 128 where it should be -128 to 127
  • Added setting save functionality
  • Improved the readme with better instructions

JoySens is a custom firmware plugin developed by Raphael; it allows refinement over the PSP’s analog stick sensitivity levels. Tweak it just the way you like it, here’s how JoySens works…

This plugin changes the analog sticks sensitivity to more usability in the following ways:

  • It changes the axial mapping to a cubic form so that small movements don’t get recognized too early. This means that you can move cursors more exactly and don’t have it jumping around on the screen.
  • It applies a sensitivity scale to linearly change the responsiveness (and maximal amplitude for values < 100%) of the stick.
  • It filters movement of the analog stick so that abrupt changes are further smoothed (though only slightly).
  • It is possible to calibrate the analog stick (though still imperfect) so it centers properly

JoySens is compatible with Dark_AleX’s OE and Team M33’s custom firmwares. Should you find any incompatibles, Raphael can be spotted over at the source link. Nice work!

here’s a secret, use the 2.50/2.60 downgrader by extrusion that requires unpatched gta run the 2.50 edition follow the instructions. if you have ta-o82 mobo download the ta-082 patch.

think of me once you are enjoying homebrew!

Sir, let me just repeat your order: one downgrader done medium rare, with fries and coke. You dont’ want onions in your salad and it is a diet coke, right? OK. Comming right up. Next please!
