Custom Firmware 3.52 M33 Released

Well that didn’t take long… Less than 24 hours after Sony’s official 3.52 firmware release, Team M33 has taken the liberty in releasing their own version. You guessed it, 3.52 M33! Muuhwhahaah *evil laugh*
Custom firmware 3.52 M33 changes:
- Now uses 3.52
- M33 NO-UMD: fixed problem with Simple 2500 Series Portable, The IQ Cube
- Fix a bug which made Go!Cam, GPS and sceKernelLoadExecVSH* not work in game mode.
- PSN downloaded PSX games support wasn’t working in 3.51 M33 (didn’t work in latest OE’s either). Now it is working again. If an original PSN game still doesn’t work, we recommend to delete files KEYS.BIN if exists, and copy the game again from ps3 to psp.
And you know everything else supported with custom firmware — homebrew, ISOs, POPs — all the good stuff! Mad props Team M33!

Hiya this thing has corrupted my psp. I have tried to upgrade and everything went f9. It;s just now whenever the home screen comes on, if i click on an icon (say “MUSIC”) it just freezes and turns the psp off. However the only thing that works is the recovery mode. I have also tried to downgrade it using the recovery mode, but as soon as the “update” starts the screen goes white, then black then the psp turns off. Please help.

yes, the prx that controls it is removed to save space….it’s been that way since cfw was introduced [well cfw that had the possibility of location free player]
just decrypt the 3.52 eboot and put in the location freeplayer prx’s it should work

Try putting it in the GAME150 folder, unless you’re on an official firmware. In which case you’re screwed.

updating causes things to not work. you first downgrade, then you upgrade to a custom firmware which works completely for ps1, which is called POPS on psp.
now why does sony have two firmwares? one thats good and one thats bad? why cant sony just have one instead of two?

Ok, 1st you need to update to 2.71, then do this:
1st thing, VERY IMPORTANT, check to see if your psp has a TA-082. You can check it here: http://psp.about.com/od/homebrew/ig/TA-082-Motherboard-Tutorial/TA-082-code-photo.htm
2nd, if your psp does have a TA-082 mother board, use the Easy TA-082 2.71 Downgrader here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/983. If your psp doesn’t have a TA-082 motherboard, use this one: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/753, ONLY IF YOUR PSP DOESN’T HAVE A TA-082 MOTHERBOARD. IF YOUR PSP DOES HAVE A TA-082 MOTHERBOARD AND YOU USE THIS ONE, YOU WILL BREAK IT. Of course, after you are at 1.50, run the kxploit patcher found with the update package, then run the update maker. After your run the update maker, you should find the update flasher in the game section on your psp. you can put custom themes on the 3.51 m33 cfw. it’s somewhere on the forums by stallone. you have to convert to 3.51 (the non-converted battery icon causes a crash i think)

You need to downgrade to 1.5 in order to install this custom firmware. Use one of the downgraders found here http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/35 and then upgrade to this firmware if that is what you want

There is a huge difference between modifying a custom firmware and finding an exploit capable of downgrading.
That said, I’m not downplaying M33’s accomplishments because they are very very good.

they problem is your on official firmwares. You have to be able to run unsigned code to use the custom firmware updaters, which 1.5 can do.
Help – you are screwed as your on official 3.52 and there is no downgrader for it yet, so you are going to have to wait for homebrew.

The problem your having is your a little kid that wont do any research and want everything right now. You are going to have to read and do some research in order to get to custom firmwares. I will help you out with a quick overview of what I would do.
1. Update to official sony FW 2.71.
2. Use the update flaser downgrader to downgrade to FW 1.5
3. Run the custom FW updater for 3.52 M33 and enjoy all that homebrew has to offer (which will also take quite a bit of reading).
FW means firmware.

Well i fallowed the readme and it worked 100% on 3.10 OE-A’ / 3.10 OE-A2.
I was just asking because some homebrews do not work on some OE-As and etc.. and wanted to know if their was support for it or not.

Download the official Sony firmware update “3.52″ to your desktop (download it from this website, the “PSP Downloads” section, its a frimware so look in the Firmware section of the download area) then unpackage the file. There will be a file called “eboot”, now rename “eboot” to “352.PBP” and put it where the readme tells you too.
i have m33 6 update and dident update to 7 can i go straight to 3.52 or do i have to update to 7 then add 3.52?
Well, any other update flashes flash0: so… Why would you need update7? it’s just going to get deleted and the files replaced. As long as you can launch homebrew, no need to do update 7 since it would be a waste of time..

OK, I ADDED THE OFFICAL SONY 3.52 update (sry caps) and renamed it to 3.52.PBP and then when i go to do the update via my memory card this is what the screen is saying…(I got 3.51 m337 firmware) it says:loading 1.50 firmware… File 150.pbp couldn’t be opened. Press X to exit….help s0omeone!!!!!!!!!

You rename the file name to “150.pbp” and “350.pbp”, unless you can’t see the file extensions, in which case you name it “150″ and “350″.

I had my PSP downgraded to 1.5 then ungraded to 3.03 OE-C (by someone else might I add), do I downgrade again (if thats possible) to 1.50 and then upgrade to 3.52 M33 then, if I need to down grade, does anyone know how. Or is it just a case of over writing the 3.03 OE-C with 3.52 M33

I have been having problems with loading psx eboots. they worked fine on 3.03oe. i then upgraded a while ago to 3.40 and it stopped working. now i am using the new 3.52m33 and again still not working. my question… do i need to repatch the games and if so how / what program are you using. also what folders are they supposed to be in. thanks in adavance

DIW, you are lying. I didn’t brick your PSP. You yourself most probably did. My full pack doesn’t have anything changed. All my pack has is the update itself, and the firmware EBOOTS inside already named to 350.PBP and 150.PBP so you don’t have to download it. Makes life easier. or most probably, you didn’t follow the instructions.

The only alternative is if you have firmware 1.5, an emulator called PS1P, and the PS1 bios. It’s very slow & has no sound, but them’s the breaks.
MD – you can use the ps1 game in your psp. What you should do is download zingaburga’s popstation, then rip your ps1 game with alcohol or something similar. Lastly use the popstation you downloaded to convert it to an eboot. Put that eboot on your memory stick and your ready to go.

no, you would have to have CFW with pops capabilities…your only hope is the PlayStation Network downloads, only available with ps3…if i were you i would not update my psp any further until a new downgrader comes it, they will eventually find an exploit, but it will take time.

YOU CANT UPGRADE YOUR OFFICIAL SONY 3.52 to 3.52 M33, it wont let you run that, it will just say “Corrupted File”. read the hacks section here.
You need to downgrade your 3.52 > 1.50 first load CFW 3.52 M33 Update
As of now don’t upgrade to any Sony’s Official Firmwares if your planning to use homebrew, stick with your OFW 3.52 until a new downgrader comes out. Just resist these new OFW updates for a while, it will be worth the wait.
As for me, I waited 3-4 months for a new downgrader to come out, I’m stuck @ OFW 3.11 at that time, until a new exploit was found for OFW 3.50 then a downgrader was created few days later using the game “Lumines 1 (UNPATCHED VERSION)” using the save game hack. I finally downgraded my PSP from OFW 3.11 to OFW 1.50 then upgraded to CFW 3.40 OE-A and upgraded to version CFW 3.52 M33 today ^_^.

To people with 3.51 Official fw, you can’t fucking use this until a downgrader is released. Also, if you don’t know that, What the fuck do you plan on doing? To play “back up copies” you need to create folder on your ms and call it ISO – place all your “back up’s” in here and then they will show up in the xmb under games, select your file and press x….ok ??

I have issues with M33 3.52;
PSX games from PSN download to PSP get error 80031322.
I have 5 games on my MS all worked OK in 3.40OE and M33 3.51, only one works in M33 3.52…. I’ll wait for patch.
I get the same problem. The Game is “Jumping flash” from PSN.
Using (3.51 m33) it would transfer from (PS3 1.89) but I get error code (CA000006) when I try to play it on the PSP.
Now I’m on (PS3 1.90) with (3.52 M33) on PSP. Game will not start get error code (CA00007) tried to delete all info and re transfer as per instructions and now getting a connection error code (80031322). The PS3 will transfer data over to the PSP pictures, music, video etc… & connect remotely still. I have also transferred the files over to the PC for safe keeping, which once placed back on the PSP still getting Error Code (CA00007). Also I have tried Sony NP9660 in recovery mode both 3.51-52M33 and still this damn game wont work.

I’m noticing one problem that when I turn on my PSP it goes right to the menu not showing the Sony Logo…. so then I boot into the Recovery Menu and Disable the Skip Sony Logo…. This works great for awhile… then I turn on my PSP and the Sony Logo doesn’t appear… somehow it keeps enabling itself…. it this a bug or something wrong on my end…. is anyone else having issues?

Just installed it and works perfect just need to use the M33 No UMD. Even the cwcheat works perfect. And the good thing is you can always go back to any OE version you want if you don’t like the M33 ciao!

Look at forums for FW guide as to what you need to do – a quick hint is a copy of GTA Liberty (unpatched) and Noobz Hen prog plus the required official sony firmware – 3.10 from memory.

No, it will not work on your system. Go to this websites web FORUM. From there, go to the help pages and start to get an understanding of how all this works. It will require a fair amount of time…and most importantly READING.
Plan on reading for at least an hour. By the time you feel comfortable with the concepts maybe a downgrader will be available for your firmware.
and for heaven’s sake…DO NOT INSTALL ANYMORE OFFICIAL FIRMWARE UPDATES. It only makes your wait to downgrade longer. Sit tight. Or better yet, trade your PSP in for one with a lower firmware.

hey.. d’you follow the steps correctly? like the name 150.PBP/352.PBP? and youre still having problem.. this might be the sol’n open My Document.. go to tools.. go to folder options.. go to “view” tab.. uncheck “hide extensions for known file types.. this should solve it..
SHA1 is like MD5 or CRC, a method of verifying the integrity of various files.
I’m guessing the PSP has a way of checking this, I’m not sure… :) I’m here strictly for informational purposes. I don’t even own a PSP (yet) ! :D

Nice to blame others for your stupidity. What makes you think a custom theme that was made for DA’s CFW would work with M33. I had 3.40 OE-A. Downgraded to 1.50 then upgraded to 3.51 M33 then 3.52 M33 and all my homebrew, ISOs and PS1 titles work fine. Do us a favor and update to 3.52 official firmware them blame someone else.
custom themes are possible on m33, just most were made for 3.40 OE, mines got a theme and works fine, just gotta use ur eyes and look. Using themes made for 3.40 OE will make ur psp freeze.

Hey i install 3.52 just fine and it worked fine and played iso fine. Then all a sudden it now when i go to play my ISO PS logo comes up then screen goes black and stay that way and i got to hard reset. I dont get it im on 1.50 kernel and dont think i messed with setting WHAT CAN I DO HELP.
Did u enable “CWCheat” mine does the same thing whne i have CWCheat [GAME] on so i took it off until the next update of CWCheat, if not try reinstall from scratch, that might help. (also might brick)

FW 3.52 M33 CFW can read ISO’s and CSO’s from your “ISO” Folder in your MS. No need for Devhook, DevHook has hasn’t been needed ever since DA Started his CFWs.

or you can rename one of the Read Mes to .txt instead of .en / .ru

when i boot up a iso like midway arcade treasure the controller goes wild and i cant see to fix this-it happened to me in some games anyone else had this problem

alots has changed.. our hero DA’s OE is end and now our new hero is M33. i am still using 3.40OE and work all da games that i want to play.. i think i will update it to M33 when it come to a game that i want to play and does not owrk on 3.40Oe

Just upgraded, and followed the readme, it’s perfectly clear, and it works as it should.
I used to be on FW 1.50 with DH 0.52 (FW3.11), but since many new games require FW>3.50 nowdays, I’m forced to this custom firmware…
But Thanks god you guys are still hacking on!!! Dont let sony win the battle… They might have created the hardware, but we got the software… And unless they fully support us, we’ll keep this going…

Hey guys, i am having problems with this firmware from m33. I was on 3.51 m33, and upgraded it to 3.52 m33. I was able to play my dl games for awhile. But after i tried to play my umd game an error came up as 80020148 and after that i couldn’t even play my dl games. They would start up with the psp logo, and then turn into a black screen. So can anyone help me here it would appreciated it much. I tried reinstalling the firmware but it didn’t do much. Also tried the recovery program, but it’s getting the same error as it starts to patch.
some iso/cso’s are not working and they worked in 3.40 oe they dont even display the games icon properly just a generic grayish ps controller other games run fine
I updated to this version and now Tekken Dark Resurrection does not work anymore. Everytime I open the iso the screen stays black and the light flashes, but nothing happens. Anyone know why?
so i just got a psp, it had firm 3.50 on it, and i never have done any kind of game hacks before, but i am pretty good with computers, so anyway i was trying to go off the m33 read me, and it was way to techy for me, and i ended up updated the sony 3.52 update, and can’t seem to find out how to do the m33 update. DID I MESS UP????

Well i’m new to this, had my sons psp downgraded by a mate from 2.6 to 1.5, several times as he keeps upgrading it, my mate sent me this link, so Ive read it through it all, plus some of the tutorials,was a bit worried as its a TA 82 Board. then i’ve followed the plain simple steps to put the 3.52 M33 on,
and it works fine.
Believe me if I can do it anybody can.

it wont open 150.pbp it allways happens on my psp but i done everything it says in the readme. so unless an easy installer comes out i cant have m33. less anyone els has solved this problem?
lol my psp was on the brink of losing ALL my home brew capabilities i got my psp on 2.0 updated to 3.50 then i downloaded the 3.51 update i WAZ about to install when i heard about the lumines thing then i went to 1.50 then i installed 15.0 proof of concept then i updated to 3.40 OE-A and have stayed on that for a while…….lucky my friend told me about home brew and stuff or i would of gone to the 3.52 by now…HAHAHA…Lucky me
hmmm waiting for the 3.52 to get updated a bit more before i install it….but i really like 3.40 OE-A with kick ass ps1 emulator lol i okay xeno gears and mgs1 alot……go m33!!

hi guys… i tried the 3.52 m33 update 2, works fine… psx emulation also ok…. just got 1 slight prob… all my psp games i can play except loco roco.. the icon wont even show… any ideas why?
If i have TA-082 and i downgrade to 1.5 in order to install this, i know i cant update my PSP to anything over 3.30, but can i still install this custom Firmware?
If you”re at 1.5 then there’s no worries.
