CWCHEAT 0.1.8 REV. B Released!
greg | July 14, 2007
Just when it seems today couldn’t get any better, weltall has already prepared and now released CWCheat Revision B; with, you guessed it, last minute support for the newest custom firmware, 3.51 M33. Not only that! REV.B includes many additions and bug fixes…
Now available is a new disassembler accessible from the cheat search menu; this can make cheats, show addresses in absolute mode, and other little things. The memory editor has been improved by making it more user-friendly. Also some bug fixes for unchecked cases in the FPS counter, which would ultimately lead to a crash. For the rest — read the changelog:
- [ALL] now the selected row and column are marked to allow easier use of the memory editor
- [ALL] added a check against a case were a firmware function could return a NULL pointer making cwcheat crash the psp with the FPS counter enabled in some games when showing videos
- 0000023: [ALL] fixed the position of data entry lines when float was selected with the diff and fixed value searches
- 0000015: [ALL] added some checks in the diff search about unopenable/incomplete file to prevent crash during search when the ms is full
- [ALL] now when you leave the memory editor if you return to it from the cheat search menu it will go were you left it the last time
- [ALL] now it’s possible to remove spaces in the memory editor by using MEMEDIT SPACE= # where # is 0 if you want to remove spaces and see the dump continuous (this will allow to have up to 23 bytes shown/line if ascii is disabled and up up to 17 bytes shown/line if ascii is enabled) and 1 if you want to have a space between the bytes
- [ALL] Added a disassembler
- [ALL] The disassembler can create 32bit codes starting from the currently selected address with CROSS
- [ALL] The disassembler will allow to scroll of +1/-1 instructions (+4/-4bytes) with DOWN/UP and +1000/-1000 bytes with R/L
- [ALL] The disassembler can show either relative and not relative addresses in the address column you can change this option by DISASM AABSL = 0/1 if 0 it will show the relative addresses just like the other modes else it will show the absolute ones. In any case internally the addresses will still be managed as relative so cheat making won’t be affected by this option and will work regularly
- [ALL] The disassembler can show values(normally offsets or addresses) also in hex if DISASM HEXVAL= is set to 1 in the configuration file
- [ALL] When you leave the disassembler if you return to it from the cheat search menu it will go were you left it the last time
- [GAME] Removed improvement to support 3.40OE as they made 3.51 completely incompatible and restored older startup systems (cwcheat will startup later for now)
Kudos weltall — another great one!

wow what a day, nice work
Awesome! The new custom firmware does need this! Thanks again Weltall!
WOW…. That was quick. The only reason I didn’t get the newest CFW from M33 was cause it didn’t support CWCHEAT, Now it does. THANKS WELTALL.
does it work on 3.40 oe?
Don’t Know…..But I know CWCHEAT 1.8 Rev A works awesome on 340OE(DAX)
yes it should
Uhm, this article says 3.51 made cwcheat completely incompatible… That’s not true. I’m using the last version update that added the memory editor/viewer and it works fine on 3.51 M33.
well the article is right. it isn’t technically completely incompatible but in some cases it’s pratically so. the prx is able to load (as the incompatibilities were timing issues and not link issues like when older fw were incompatible) but will most likely crash in boot time if the firmware isn’t fast enough to mount umd0: as sony locked umd0: just like isofs0: (by making it crash if you try to access it before it’s mounted, while it should just return an error)
I dont get any errors trying to load it at any time… so I don’t know what you are talking about.
well then you are really lucky as a lot of persons, me included, couldn’t get it to load with games except with using R :P
thats weird, really. I mean, I had to turn it back on in the recovery menu after installing 3.51 M33, but that’s the only time I had to enable it. I’ve restarted my psp completely a few times, as I was trying to get themes to work right, and it stayed on. So either I’m lucky, or something is broken in cwcheat I haven’t found yet (i.e cheat searcher, memory editor). But I do notice one thing, before on my Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition games, I couldnt get the cwcheat menu up by holding select until the new game/load game screen, but now it will load on the Square-Enix logo, and applies cheats in the db fine still. I’ll test the other things in rev A out see, if I just got lucky enough to still be able to use it with a ‘reduced functionality’ mode which obviously wasn’t originally coded, but forced by the 3.51 firmware, though I don’t know how it would do that. *off to mess with things in cwcheat*
actually if it doesn’t crash during bootup you are fine all the other function except usb (which i sill don’t know how to make it work) should work fine
Does the enable you to get cheats working on ps1 games usin pops?
Cant get it to work =/
on psx games dint tryed on psp games
ALL I PRESS IS SELECT RIGHT?!
well it doesnt do anything, it doesnt appear in-game
BTW i enabled it in recovery
you should keep it pressed ultil the menu appears!
