Calling all SEGA fans; behold! Akop’s SMS Plus PSP — a new alternative to [Bo]Trops’ PSPMaster.
SMS Plus PSP 1.2.1 is a port of Charles MacDonald’s SMS Plus emulator. It faithfully mimics the SEGA Master System console and Game Gear hand held.

Great job…a lot of those roms look like they’re for the Sega Genesis. Is that emulator just looking up the wrong file directory on the memory stick or will it also play Genesis games?
if you notice the extensions sms, and gg…all those games were ported to the Master System and Gamegear.
way back inna day, Sega actually supported all their consoles. So there usually was a port for the Genesis, and then a watered down Master System, and Gamegear title was also made.
Great stuff indeed, I’ve got it and put it on my mem stick as soon as I read this.
SMS fans really needed something a bit newer than PSPMaster…

Master system was the first console I ever owned, loved sonic on it :D.

Hmm, is Master system is tht genesis ?. i have a another emulator tht i downloaded from a japanese site. THt emulator can run genesis games like jurasic park and old games like tht, but when i tried this out, it didnt work, I have the games in ; BIN FILE

The Master System is NOT the Genesis. It was SEGA’s 8-bit console that was technically better (or so I’ve heard) than the NES, but only fared well in Europe (again, so I’ve heard).
yes, the Master system had far better specs than the NES. It could display more onscreen colors. It could have more sprites on screen.
Though, the NES seemed to have some better games made. Konami, Data East (Whatever happened to these guys), Capcom, ect. Wasn’t until the Genesis that these game makers spread their games to other systems.
This often freezes when switching roms, then my psp just shuts down…
Same here… just works for the first rom, then if you want to switch you have to quit and pick another, or else it’ll freeze

i read sms and i think to myself , ‘nice, now I can send text messages after the remaining 97/250 sms messages are sent on my phone.. then i find out it’s about sega.. ahwell nice release anyway!

the first thing i notice is missing from there site is altered beast! how can you have a genesis collection and not altered beast?
works nicely just that i tried to run a rom it was smd and i renamed to sms so i just selected it on the SMS and it said intializing for first time and the went to a black screen, i could still go to the menu and everything…
well, as I stated in 2 earlier comments.
SMD = Genesis
SMS = Sega Master System
I don’t know, but I am beginning to believe there is people who should just do some reading. Next you should try renaming your .nes to .sms and see what happens. Maybe rename your .d64 to .sms… maybe rename your .cso or .iso to .sms. Either way you probably aren’t going to get very far.
