Yeah, a tutorial on how to get dosbox to work with the Targus Universal IR Keyboard would be nice (just got mine in the mail today).

Yea – never got to try it yet but if its any different for the Palm universal keyboard it would be sweet to have one for it too…dos is pretty rough without a keyboard

yay, dosbox. But I need Pi Key, or a Mini USB keyboard to be able to type, damn. Ah well, the cash for an IR keyboard is MORE than worth the ability to play all those DOS games I have on my hard drive, like Little Big Adventure and so on.

tuddy – you said

“Ah well, the cash for an IR keyboard is MORE than worth the ability to play all those DOS games I have on my hard drive, like Little Big Adventure and so on.”

Does this mean that the IR keyboards work with dosbox and I just dont know? I have a Palm universal keyboard that works great on the PSP menus/browser but pikey doesnt seem to work with dosbox – am I missing something or do we not have full wireless keyboard support yet?

So far I have tried Dukenukem3d, Blood, Quake no luck, Im guessing Redneck Rampage wont work either. when I try to load them I long pause then a hex dump. tried messing with the configs on them with no luck so far.

Since I am thus far unable to run anything other then the included file manager, I havnt tried the IR keyboard feature yet. Honestly at that point I think Id rather use my laptop or desktop, but that said its still a very cool feature.

If nothing else its nice to have a built in file browser on my PSP.

Police Quest works (awesome old game) so I assume space quest/kings quest etc would all work but they are typing based games and useless without the keyboard…and yea, with a keyboard you might has well have a laptop but the psp/keyboard is still smaller and cheaper than a laptop…wish I could just type with this keyboard….the keyboard support mentioned – anyone know if its wireless ones or a normal usb keyboard?

How the hell do you type stuff? I’m stuck in the prompt screen..

The easiest way to get around typing on the prompt w/o a keyboard hooked up was to just edit the dosbox.conf file. Down at the bottom of the file is an autoexec area. Use it like you would an autoexec.bat file to set up your environment the way you would like it and/or to launch dn.com. Once in DN.com you can use the stick and buttons to navigate with a basic GUI that reminds me of xtreegold. Hope that helps.
