PSPcc v1.0 Released

Posted by greg

Update: Two RAR archives (PSPCC.rar & PSPCC_WLAN_FIXED.rar) are contained within the download. If you experience WLAN-related problems with the files in PSPCC.rar, please try the other.

Update: Experiencing problems connecting to your wireless network? Download the archive again.

Offering an alternative to AFKIM is Infamous X with his new multi-protocol supported IM client — PSPcc! The author describes it best…

PSPcc (PSP chat client) is a multi-network (MSN, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo! and GTalk) chat client written in LUA. Like AFKIM, users are able to add multiple accounts on different networks and be simultaneously logged into all of them. The user-interface was designed and coded so the end-user could change absolutely anything they wish to via easy-to-use skin files.

PSPcc v1.0 features:

  • Simultaneous use of multiple accounts on different networks
  • Ridiculously skinnable interface
  • Mp3 playback, remote support
  • Audio alerts for new message, sign-ins, etc.
  • Chat-logging (can be disabled, like most features)
  • Three original skins included + AFKIM skin
  • Uses the faster “danzeff” typing system (custom)

Yeah, as I suspected this is almost exactly the same as afkim, apart from written in LUA.

This isn’t an AFKIM killer by any means, it uses the same protocol and everything.

This sounds cool. If Zx-81 can add up the IR keyboard compatibility then it’s good to go!

if this is just another damn thing that says it uses AIM when instead it uses Bitlbee, then WHY WHY WHY….why do they keep saying these things support AIm when instead its just that damn Bitlbee crap that noone uses except this one retard in Canada that keeps IMing me with “helo? helo? i am using bitlbee! are you using bitlbee too? lets B friends!”

    2007-06-30 19:57:50

You realize Bitlbee is just a gateway to all the chat clients right? It’s not a different chat network; you really are chatting on AIM.

Put the contents of the RAR file in your /PSP/GAME or /PSP/GAME150 folder if you’re not using firmware 1.5.

Basic verdict on this program: Shit, AFKIM is shit. All these fuckin LUA apps are shit. The writer of this program is pretty good. Use your talents elsewhere..fuck creating a stupid IM client for the psp..what the fuck is the point? Just go on ebuddy.com no need to worry about this fuckin stupid bitlbee shit.

still amazingly, though this uses IRC (since it connects to bitlbee) you still cannot use this as an IRC client, can’t this be changed so i can use this for msn, jabber AND irc all at once, would be great.

it freezes when trying to log in or register

    Comment by InfamousX
    2007-07-01 23:09:39

Sorry, there’s nothing I can do about the freezing. You just have to try over and over until it works. The problem lies in LUA not having a timeout argument for the sockets, thus it keeps trying to connect and hangs the whole program.

    Sorry, blame LUA.
