PSP 3.50 Firmware Downgrader!

It’s here — the PSP 3.50 downgrader! All thanks to Noobz and the Illuminati! No time for chitter-chatter…
Requirements:
- A PSP running Sony’s official 3.50 firmware (click here to download & upgrade). It’s recommended you set the PSP language to English.
- A legal UMD copy of Lumines, either US (ULUS10002) or EU (ULES00043) works.
- Must be literate — you need to follow instructions carefully! Those are detailed in the 3.50 Downgrader Package below. See “Downgrader_HOWTO.txt.”
But! Before you start, some important notes:
If you have a TA082+ motherboard and you downgrade to 1.50, currently you will be unable to upgrade to 3.30+ Sony firmware. This is due to Sony blocking updates when the PSP has been modified to run 1.50. There will be an application released later which will allow users to revert the changes. If you are using a TA082 motherboard then I would suggest just using 1.50 or OE until an application is released.

this is by far the easiest on screen tutorial ever..make sure u follow the directions!!!! otherwise u might just brick ur psp but most likely not…make sure u change the EBOOT.PBP file to UPDATE.PBP…but the video describes it hahah hope it helps

I was reading about this on MaxConsole’s forums before it appeared on this website. Its amazing to look back on the feet these people have accomplished, to the simplest hacks to run code on 1.5, to the GTA hack on the 2.5, 2.6 versions, and now 3.5 kernel hack on lumines. I know i left out the other ones on 2.0, 2.1, 2.71, 2.8, 3.0x downgraders because they are all good, but just think about it everyone. The PSP community is beating Sony in this race badly O.o.

Never going to happen..well never say never..but its highly doubted it will ever get released..the only one that ever even booted JUST BOOTED an ISO was bought out by sony..all the code and everything..bought out..so ur out of luck for now..unless it gets leaked

The PS3 ISO loader is useless. I mean, just say if you do manage to get a fully working PS3 ISO loader, it’s still useless. How are you going to fit a game which takes up several gigabytes? What are you going to do? Buy several hard drives? That would be plain stupid. Might as well just buy the games.

Does it mean that after successfully downgrading your 3.50 TA-082 PSP to 1.5, You cant anymore update your PSP to 3.30+ Official Sony PSP Firmwares?? Why would you want to go back to 3.30+ official sony firmware??? I still dont get the extra Note.

That’s correct, can’t update to official 3.30+ fw, don’t know why anyone would want to either, i mean even if there was something killer in the latest fw you desperately needed, dax would do it in his latest oe firmware anyway.
If you used IdStorageChange in the past you can´t upgrade to Sony 3.50 because Sony sucks that much. If you did that and got Sony´s 3.10 after that, you are stuck on it because you can´t upgrade nor downgrade and this specific downgrade requires 3.5

Just so you all know…. Walmart and Best Buy have pulled Lumines off the shelf due to this exploit. I was able to find copies of Lumines at a place called Movie Trading Company. Its a New/Used/Trade type place. Sony has already contacted its distributors and told them to yank the game from their shelves.
How do you know Sony did this already? I have to go out today then if that is true and hope the store employees are lazy.

wait a minute. im a fukin noob. please help me out. i used the exploit to downgrade to 1.50 for the first time in my life. im trying to get any kind of emulator to run on my psp. (I have a TA-082). every emulator just ends up as corrupt and wont execute. i tried using gbSP but its confusing. Yeah! this is the part when living in mexico it’s really cool!! Here people sell Lumines in flea marquets for 9.99 dlls!! haha most of the people in mexico just buy their PSPs with Fifa 06 or 07 and do nothing about the other games… So it’s really easy to find games like Lumines here… A LOT!!

cf 3.40oea is better it work same as sony fw. while devhook have to activate everytime when playing game & some time it will reboot back to cf1.50.

So I downgraded to 1.50, and was running smooth. Then all of a sudden i restarted my psp (not the first time) and now the sound comes on but the screen is blank. I sat it down for a bit and the screen comes on, then, right when i press a button it goes off again. Any ideas ?

Yeah but you don’t know if you might need it again in the future for something else, say you lose your psp next month or you drop it and break it or something. Go out to the store, buy a new one and then you would need Lumines to get back to Custom Firmware again.

I don’t think so. Sony has patched the PSP firmware so many times that the Noobz had to find another game to exploit. GTA LCS won’t wotk anymore. This downgrader is made for use with Lumines only.

All the help you need is in the forums of this site. The only requirements needed is reading and educating yourself for about max of 3 hours and patience with preparedness before you downgrade.

I’m pretty sure the AUS version is the same as the European version. You should be fine. But I live in the U.S., so you should wait for more sure advice.

Yes just upgrade to 3.50 first then download the downgrader package then read the README text inside it. It will help. Also there a Videos on Youtube of it being demonstarted.

Do I need a specific version of this game? How old is the game and is it easily available? I tried finding GTA LCS for a long while, but scalpers on ebay are selling them for $50 each! I’m just trying to find a copy of lumines that will work.
After this downgrading proccess and you end up on v1.50. Are you able to use/play your original UMDs that you have bought.
When you have to copy the psp folder to the root of the memory stick, does it erase everything that was saved in the original psp folder, such as songs or pictures?

This is nice, I actually just bought a new PSP, and lumines (of all games) at the same time, and then realized that it’s the game I needed to downgrade :P
Even more humorous is the blurb on the back, “…the best game on the PSP already!” heh, yea.
Keep us updated, for when that patch comes out… I want the newest OE when its released.
Help: I have a question i know its off topic. I’m on 3.40-OE A firmware and when i try all types of ISO it wont work, after pressing circle it loads the PSP logo of the Game then it juss plain Black nothing happens?? what should i do? do i have to downgrade?? or what? if i have to downgrade to 1.5 again how do i do it?

u will still need to play ur iso game with ur umd game inside loaded.
Hey Newbie, if your problem is not solved, make sure you have the recovery folder on your memory stick. Then hard restart the psp, and when you load it up, hold down the R shoulder. A screen should come up, look through all the options and only change the “NO UMD”. Change so that no-umd is set to on. This will allow ISO’s to be played without UMDs thus saving battery. Some games may still need the UMD though.
the main question i think all of us are trying to get answers from is how do u downgrade 3.4 i know that sumwhere there is a faster more efficient, safe way to downgrade 3.4 firmware without buying a stupid GTA game to do it…if not than we all know we can always upgrade to 3.5 or 3.51 but if we do than how do we doengrade from there???we need help…we aint all psp gurus…haha please help

Lumines 2 does not work, maybe the one copy before that. Head over to the forums and READ around to see if your question has been answered already.
My friend who is a little disgruntled with having bricked one of his PSPs refuses to use his other PSP anymore, and he just gave me his GTA:LCS. It was purchased at launch and is unpatched. I was wondering if this game is able to downgrade all the same firmwares the Lumines game does or if it’s been rendered somewhat inferior. I only have the Japanese Lumines and they haven’t released a downgrader for it.
Nope GTA is rendered useless for this downgrade this time around. Because the down grade works with the exploit in Lumines, and not the exploit in GTA LCS. Because that exploit from GTA LS already has been patched waaay back. And sony I believe has patched it about 2 times already, and including the patched GTA. Hold on and wait just a little bit longer, the Jap version MAY somehow come out. Don’t get too excited, just have good intentions and patience, and hopefully the Lumines jap downgrader file will come. (Hopefully).
Just wanted to add that I justed noticed the person named Mike who wrote 3 posts just before mine. I’m not the same person, although our problems are similar.

yes thats very nice trojan thank u but i was wondering if i could find a cheaper…less time consuming and gas saving (haha) way to downgrade my psp instead of having to buy a game…if it can be done for a 2.71 or any other homebrew..why is 3.4 and 3.5 being picked on…no fair…im to the point where im about to go cut out a cereal box and color it black..than i can call it a psp…and even give it my own custom firmware :) haha jp but seriously…any other help of finding a more efficient downgrade please..help would be great… i mean i can go buy lumines but i simply dont have the time to so please..it wuld be of great help for not only me but other psp owners out there in the world who are stuck in my boat :)

No. Update to 3.50 (Sony Offical Firmware) and then read the top of the page for the 3.50 downgrader and 1.50 update aka the eboot.php file

Everething fine but can anyone tell me if any version of Lumines will work with downgrading? As everybody remember not long time ago we had GTA Liberty city and to be able to downgrade you have to had game with update below 2.60. Is it now the same with Lumines or any version will work?
