CWCHEAT 0.1.7 Rev. D Released!

weltall has a new version of CWCheat ready for the public: 0.1.7 REV.D. It’s a bit delayed due to site changes which were more important — wiki based documentation is now available online (still being written), a bug reporting/tracking tool, as well a new server and a huge clean up of the database.
But, lets put that aside and focus on CWCheat; the all-purpose tool for cheating each and every PSP/PSX game by using raw relative hex codes, much like the ol’ Game Genie for Nintendo. Know what I’m saying?
Here’s what weltall had to say…
The most important things about this version is a rewrite of the umd reading functions (some of the first being executed when the prx is being loaded). This resolved a problem which could affect people with slow umd drives or damaged umd which could lead to more time in bootup and so making cwcheat crash when trying to access them. So this should make cwcheat more compatible with the 3.40OE firmware. except this trough other optimizations and the switch to -Os it was possible to reduce the size of the prx making it more compatible with other plugins.
CWCheat 0.1.7 Revision D changelog:
- 0000009: [ALL] fixed automaking of a code for found trough float search which used 3 in place to 2
- [ALL] various optimizations to reduce file size in order to increase compatability with other prx
- [ALL] switched from -O2 to -Os which reduced size of ~15kb and didn’t seem to do a noticeable change in speed
- [GAME] rewritten the initialization code which reads the id from the disk. Now it waits for the disk to be mounted without using time hacks. This increased compatability with slow umd drives/damaged umds in 3.40 OE systems
- [DB DOWNLOADER] updated to reflect the new server
- [DB] The db was cleaned removing some bogus codes which had zeroes on them or blank spaces: so now the db included in cwcheat is being updated again with the one on the site in each release
- [SITE] the site was moved on a faster host, the download section was fixed and now it’s working again
- [SITE] Added a wiki documentation which will be expanded in the future and user can add things to it (translations are also welcome)
- [SITE] Added a bug tracked based on mantis. If you find a bug or something wrong with cwcheat or the site please file a bug report there. But report things correctly saying all the steps to reproduce it else they will be discarded

they are bugfixing/optimizations releases first of all with some little additions sometimes.

what does this program actually do? does it only allow you to cheat at a game?

well all versions of cwcheat i’d tried didn’t work fine with my 3.40OE, maybe i’ll give this one a try
…. is my first time installing this sh·t and i don`t know wher to put the folders and also which ones!!!
When you unpack the download copy the contents of MS_ROOT to the root of your memorystick (so you put seplugins in root of memorystick) then copy the dbdownload folder to your GAME150 folder and then your set.
What happened to the CWCHEAT.INI file?
also, is there any chance you can update the cheatpops.db file with the cheat.db file updater? I noticed the cheatpops.db file is smaller in this new version compaired to my older 1
New cheatpops.db file = 2.50MB (2,568KB)
Old cheatpops.db file = 3.62MB (3,715KB)

pops file isn’t updated. it was made by tandao2002 which is an user of this site so check his thread here for more informations :)
Weltall, I have problems in this version the same as the last one (REV C). Whenever I load up the Go! Edit Software (for the camera) and all my game demos, it will hang. This only happens when I enable the CWCheat.prx plugin. Any fix for this?
maybe the camera prx is too big… you are on 3.40?
Installed as per the directions, and did not work on 3.40 oe-a.
All files are in their proper locations, and tried loading the prx by holding the select button…nothing.
what’s your memory stick?
HELP! there are two files named cheat.db in the same folder (CWCHEAT) do i have to rename one or delete one…
two? maybe you mean cheatpops.db it’s a db for psx games it’s up to you what to do to it
Yes, I am in 3.40 OE-A weltall. Is there a way to fix this? Or the only way is to disable the cwcheat plugin when I need to use the camera software? But still, this is the best thing ever!
well i need to analyze it for now i think it’s the only way. you could also try keeping L pressed while you load the software till you see something on screen (or the crash) and tell me how it went.
this should delete cwcheat thread and terminate but i didn’t check if the firmware removes the prx from memory

Now, will this work on 303OE-C which is my favorite and also I haven’t been able to update with the “database download” It hasn’t work for a while now I alwys get a “connection error” and I have tried to go to your wedsite to get the latest DB but the link is always dead, please respond as I LOVE CWCHEAT
teorically it should but cwcheat is always get tested only on 3.40OE (as i don’t have 20 psps :P). someone i know told me it’s working fine on 3.30OE anyway.
did you update the db downloader with the one on the latest package? the site is now cwcheat.consoleworld.org
to arcsy as for demos and go edit i’ve tried it you must keep L pressed while loading it if you don’t need cwcheat they will work fine. i can’t test very well go edit as i don’t have a camera but i see a difference when it does load error press home to abort O to retry if cwcheat is loaded it will power off after pressing O else it will cycle so L should fix it.
consider also using R if you want to cheat or use cwcheat functions with demos. t he problem is the try to access umd which is forbidden in demos and will result in a crash.

i have 3.4 oe-a and for the first time tried to install CWCHEAT_0_1_7_REVD, I copied seplugins into root dir of psp, and copy the dbdownload folder to your GAME150 folder and then booted and enabled both cwcheatpops.prx and cwcheat.prx [GAME], but not working, what im i doing wrong, THANKS!! When i click cheats icon it will d/l file, but when i click on games it just starts playing game like always, I dont get menu to turn on cheats.
Weltall, thanks for your answer. This DOES work fine with 303 OE-C but I have a couple of questions. The gme M.A.C.H. which I have played with cheats shows no cheats available(other games show cheats just fine) and also CWCHEAT is not loading on PSX games( I did enable both prx’s) and by the way the BD download works fine now. Thanks a lot and please respond.
By the way I’m using an original $ony memory stick (8GB)
UPDATE: I put the other DB that came with the latest CWCHEAT and M.A.C.H. and other games work fine now. BUT STILL PSX CHEATPOPS won’t load on PSX games, please help. Thanks.

there is something funny about it when loading parasite eve 2 i changed the game id so it would load the game but cw cheat change the game id and it could not find the cheat ….in pops db obiously cause its not the same id
