Offering an alternative to AFKIM is Infamous X with his new multi-protocol supported IM client — PSPcc! The author describes it best…
PSPcc (PSP chat client) is a multi-network (MSN, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo! and GTalk) chat client written in LUA. Like AFKIM, users are able to add multiple accounts on different networks and be simultaneously logged into all of them. The user-interface was designed and coded so the end-user could change absolutely anything they wish to via easy-to-use skin files.

PSPcc v1.0 features:
- Simultaneous use of multiple accounts on different networks
- Ridiculously skinnable interface
- Mp3 playback, remote support
- Audio alerts for new message, sign-ins, etc.
- Chat-logging (can be disabled, like most features)
- Three original skins included + AFKIM skin
- Uses the faster “danzeff” typing system (custom)

Comments (45)CWCHEAT 0.1.8 Released!
greg | June 30, 2007
Say goodbye to the 0.1.7 series, and welcome CWCheat 0.1.8!
weltall’s CWCheat 0.1.8 fixes two buffer overflows, introduces a new PRX, “cwcheatlite.prx,” which is essentially the same as cwcheat.prx, but the cheat searching and memory editor functions are removed, thus, less space (75KB vs. 95KB). And… 0.1.8 finally includes the much requested memory editor allowing you to see the current memory in HEX/ASCII format; make cheats, check out an area of ram found from a search with the diff/fixed value, or locate the addresses from an already made cheat. weltall considers this a work in progress, so leave your feedback and suggestions with him or in the comments below.
As always, weltall’s got the biggest changelog of all:
- [ALL] fixed a bug which could lead to codes from other games/databases being put in the cheat list when loading a different database: this lead also to codes remaining in list, the game name not changing when reloading a db which contained the same game with a different name and other bad things made by data remaining and possible crashes
- [ALL] fixed various buffer overflows in the db reading functions regarding game and cheat name. This seemed to lead to strange behaviours with the screen shot function for some users.
- [POPS] fixed a bug which could load ids of pops game launched before than the one being loaded if there isn’t a cold boot beetween them or a psp game being loaded
- [ALL] added a memory editor which can show the ram in HEX/ASCII
- [ALL] added to support to make cheats from a selected ram position in the memory editor (with x)
- [ALL] added support in the result screen of the cheat searcher to show the memory editor in the position of the found result (press [] to show it when selecting a found address)
- [ALL] added support to show the memory editor from the edit cheat menu for fixed value write codes (0×0 0×1 0×2). (press /_\ to show the memory editor when selecting a codeline)
- [PACKAGE/GAME] Added a LITE version of cwcheat with all cheat search and memory editor functions removed. It’s called cwcheatlite.prx.
Have fun cheating all your PSP and PSX (POPs-emulated) games! Everything you need to know is contained within “README018.TXT.”

Comments (20)Daedalus R12 Released! N64 Emulation!
greg | June 26, 2007
Wow — two heavy hitters in one day! Mark it on your calendar folks; the day of earth shattering PSP releases, June 26th! First we saw Noobz’ 3.50 firmware downgrader, and now StrmnNrmn unleashes the highly anticipated Daedalus R12, bringing Nintendo 64 emulation goodness to the PSP! Can it get any better than this?!
R12 primarily focuses on minor compatibility and graphical fixes; there are no optimizations for this build. Super Smash Bros. (SSB) is now running much smoother than the previous Daedalus versions. With dynarec enabled you’ll achieve ~ 30-40 fps; still not quite full speed. Although it’s playable with frameskip set to 1 or 2.
StrmnNrmn also mentions:
Goldeneye is also running in R12. Although the intro sequence is running very quickly and with few noticable graphical issues, a lot more work is needed to it running at a playable framerate in-game. I think it’s a good start though, and something to get excited about for the future :)
Daedalus R12 changelog:
- [!] Fixed issue preventing Goldeneye from being loaded.
- [!] Fixed dynarec for Goldeneye.
- [!] Fixed dynarec for Super Smash Bros.
- [!] Fix various texturing issues with 4bpp and small or non power-of-2 textures.
- [!] Fix TexRect instructions with negative s/t components.
- [!] Fixed the HUD in Mario 64 (broken in R11.)
- [!] Fixed lights in F3DEX2 microcodes.
- [+] Correctly implement instruction fetch exceptions, improving compatibility.
- [+] Improved floating point compatibility.
- [+] Correctly handle mask_s/mask_t tile values.
- [+] Implemented a few custom blend modes.
- [+] Screenshots just cover visible viewport.
Thanks for the countless emails everyone.

Comments (108)PSP 3.50 Firmware Downgrader!
greg | June 26, 2007
It’s here — the PSP 3.50 downgrader! All thanks to Noobz and the Illuminati! No time for chitter-chatter…
Requirements:
- A PSP running Sony’s official 3.50 firmware (click here to download & upgrade). It’s recommended you set the PSP language to English.
- A legal UMD copy of Lumines, either US (ULUS10002) or EU (ULES00043) works.
- Must be literate — you need to follow instructions carefully! Those are detailed in the 3.50 Downgrader Package below. See “Downgrader_HOWTO.txt.”
But! Before you start, some important notes:
If you have a TA082+ motherboard and you downgrade to 1.50, currently you will be unable to upgrade to 3.30+ Sony firmware. This is due to Sony blocking updates when the PSP has been modified to run 1.50. There will be an application released later which will allow users to revert the changes. If you are using a TA082 motherboard then I would suggest just using 1.50 or OE until an application is released.
DOWNGRADE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

IR Improved AFKIM and PSP-PDA!
greg | June 24, 2007
Just when you’re thinking to yourself, “hrm… I wonder what homebrew will feature IR keyboard support next?” ZX-81 appears and answers, “none! But here are two memory stick-worthy apps with improved IR keyboard handlers — Danzel’s Away from Keyboard Instant Messenger, and Rob_psp’s PSP-PDA!”
Their names are self explanatory; AFKIM is an instant messaging client supporting AIM, ICQ, MSN, GTalk, and Yahoo! PSP-PDA features a notepad, music player, image viewer, address book, calendar, calculator, and clock. Everything you need!
AFKIM v3.2.1 changes:
- Improve IR keyboard handler, it’s now usable everywhere (menus & window)! Have a look to the file README-irkbd.txt for mapping informations etc…
** NOTE ** : Previous versions of AFKIM (v3.1 and earlier) works fine with the Pikey driver (IR keyboard driver from Fanjita), so if you have Pikey already installed on your PSP, this version is may be useless (more stable?).
If you want to use AFKIM v3.2.1 and you have Pikey installed you should disable it while launching this version.
PSP-PDA v1.3.1 changes:
- Improve IR-keyboard handler!
- Bug fix in theme chooser (but you need now to restart psp-pda to view the new theme)
- Many bug fix in calendar
- New theme designed by ** Vashts121 **

Comments (17)New Exploit Found — The Illuminati! All Firmwares Affected!
greg | June 23, 2007
A minor update… A message to foreign readers… It would seem the Illuminati exploit doesn’t work correctly when the PSP is using non-English settings; presumably it’s something to do with the unicode set while displaying the profile name. Set your PSP to English and give it a try.
Anyway, if you are having problems, especially with the European Lumines, then try switching your PSP to ‘English’ settings.
Devastation strikes! The “N00bz!” have yet again left the entire PSP community in a state of awe. Without a doubt, in the coming days, everyone will have the opportunity to downgrade, enjoy glorious custom firmwares, homebrew, and much more… This newly discovered exploit works in a similar fashion to the GTA save game hole; however, this time ’round you’ll require a legal UMD copy of Lumines. Read on…
That’s right – if you’ve got a legal UMD copy of Lumines, then you can run homebrew on your PSP – whatever the firmware version. That includes v3.50! Right now, the only homebrew is the Hello World demo released below – but in future we intend to release a HEN and downgrader.
- Check that you have an EU or US version of Lumines (ULES00043 or ULUS10002). Currently we don't have a version for the Japanese version, but we're working on it, as soon as we get hold of a Japanese UMD.
- Extract the contents of the 'MS_ROOT' folder from the ZIP file into the top-level of your memory stick. (HINT: If you wind up with an 'MS_ROOT' folder on the stick, you've done it wrong).
- Start the game, and as soon as it gets to the 'Press START' screen, press START. If you wait until the demo has started, the exploit may not work.
- The screen should go blank, and the exploit will start after a few moments. It doesn't do anything except look pretty at this stage – but feel free to enjoy the first homebrew on your v3.10 – v3.50 PSP
