It’s out! Fetch it via Network Update right now (or below from PSP Hacks) — PSP firmware 3.50!
If you’re a PS3 Hacks reader you may recall the announcement of 3.50 which is said to include support for “Remote Play” over the Internet. “Remote Play” is a specific piece of functionality that allows remote control over the PS3’s XMB interface by way of your PSP hand held. Prior to this update users were only able to access the PS3 XMB over their local network.

The official 3.50 changes:
Network
- You can now connect a PSP® system to a PS3™ system via the Internet using [Remote Play].
- [Communication Settings] has been added as an option to the [Remote Play] menu.
- [RSS Channel Guide] has been added as a feature under [RSS Channel].
Remember: upgrading will render your PSP incompatible with any homebrew whatsoever. UPGRADE AT OWN DISCRETION!

3.30oe ain’t cutting it anymore? it plays all the games for free and got all the update features. I dunno what more you could really ask for.. 3.4 does suck i doubt it will be worth even cracking to make a OE for it

yeah I’d have a ps3 but dang $600 I’d just buy a new computer. the PS3 ain’t bad but if you ask me I’d probally rather have a PS2 that I could play pirated games with instead.

For such a powerful machine how come the PS3 cant play games in 1080i and games have to be coded for a specific resolution where as my 360 plays them just fine.

it looks like all but official eboots have been blocked from even showing up on the XMB, so thus, DO NOT UPDATE, unless you have a extra PSP like I do!

Use Windows media player 11 pretty simple and iot works its pretty ez to set up.

God, things are so slow now a days, I can hardly give a shit for the updates anymore, Sony adds one freaken thing for one stupid update, and its always for the freaken ps3 now…Just gonna get hacked, and that OE version is gonna suck to because there is nothing good to offer from the official update.

you know…i actually kinda agree with you. things have been pretty slow, and when Sony DOES come out with an update, its usually aimed toward the PS3. Sony has to also think about those people who cant really afford to dish out $600 for a PS3……..like me! :D

What about 3.5 req’d umds? I know, pprolly will be another 2 firmware releases before any game requires it, but still. Sony is adding more functionality to the psp, and yes extra security, but DA handles that. A lot of whingey whiners around this place.

I have a Ps3 but i cant even use remote play because I have 3.4 oe and every time i try to register device it says that there arent any psp systems connected!!!! But when I look on the xmb it reads it as just some random usb device. This kinda makes me wanna get an official sony upgrade to see if that works……….Anybody have this problem besides me????
try to run keycleaner 1.1 on your psp to fix the idstorage keys (they can get messed up during the downgrade process)… i had the same problem when pairing my psp and that solved it for me.

KeyCleaner v1.1 didn’t solve this problem for me. I dump the keys several times and ran the program to fix them several times. My PS3 still does not detect the PSP. It only shows it as a USB device.
Yeah maximus same here dumped the keys ran the program….Still no psp detected. Its starting to look like i’ll need another psp with official sony firmware for remote play…….sucks
what you need is a GOOD 043.bin key (find a friend with a working PSP, or be creative.), and ‘usbhostfs-fix’ Fixed it for me, never had any luck with keycleaner or anything like that myself.
any chance of a downgrader? cus my sis bought a used psp that isn’t downgradable yet:(. i know there is no need for a downgrader for most people, but there are some who are unfortunate.

I’m with Dd409… My friend has a PS3 and brings it over when he comes here, but Remote play is pointless, if you wanted to acces your PS3 from anywhere, just upload the media to a memory stick, PS3 formats are exactly the same as PSP media formats.

yea, the ps3 hard drive is 60gigs, i dont think they have media sticks that large. i would want to be able to access all of my ps3 home meda not just 5 pictures or songs. what about 1.5gig large movies? that would either 1) not fit on most memory sticks or 2) take a really long time to transfer.
Unless games come out requiring 3.50 i dont really care if DA makes a new OE version or not to be honest, I dont have a PS3 and simply will not buy one at the price tag its at… pretty useless update if you ask me… unless you own a PS3

99.9% of the 3.50 is decrypted with the 3.30 decrypted
ONLY the REBOOT.BIN is not extracted/decrypted (psp turn off when in get to that point)
You sure it decrypts? Mine said decrypted 2 files, copied a bunch, and then froze on reboot.
I only wanted a decrypted pops.prx and it sure isnt decrypted
what we really need from these updaters is streaming video. I would like to watch tv on my psp using orb.
ps3 has streaming video with its 1.80 update. have you tried remote play streaming with these updates?

DA! I have 3.40 OE-A and it works excellent! I have custom themes on it, and every game that I have works. Some which wasn’t working on other OE firmwares. Also I have a PS3 and giving us 3.50 OE-A would be awesome….
They should just make an Update for the 3.40 FW … just adding the RemotePlay option… because making a Custom FW of 3.50 its still pointless for just only that… plus there arent any UMD’s still that need that FW yet.

But there are loads of people out there with ps3’s and use OE firmware on there psp’s that would be greatfull for a 3.50 OE…me for one.
