Remover 2.1 Released

Need some extra bytes on flash0 to fully customize your PSP’s XMB? Or maybe you have your own personal reasons for wanting to do so… In any event, developer Derces has released Remover 2.1 which will do just that. Disable all the useless functions/features you don’t give a crap about; thus, resulting in extra space for the much cooler stuff.
Remover 2.1 features:
- Disable Camera & GPS
- Disable Asian fonts
- Disable Network Update
- Disable RSS channels
- Disable Web Browser
- Disable Certificate Utility (for 3.03 OE and under)
- Disable Remote Play
Disabling these functions will not hide the corresponding icons; however, it will render them completely ineffective. And don’t worry — Remover 2.1 permits you to re-enable these features at any given time.
The only thing you should worry about is tampering with flash0. As we’ve iterated countless times, any homebrew app writing to flash0 could potentially brick your PSP. Use with caution and at your own risk.

I just used flash agent e to remove and dummy some font files and that saved 2.5 mb, more than enough for my Gears of War theme. Anyways, I know something I won’t be disabling, the photo feature! Cuz, well, you know. XD

how much space does that save? because im working on making a 3-D xmb background that works with metal gear solid 3-D glasses or any other 3-D glasses and i need to know how much room that will save.

WAAAYYYYY OFF TOPIC…..can anyone tell me why my legal backup .iso Metal Slug Anthology won’t play on 3.40 OE-A? I know it’s supposed to.
Last thing I played legal backup iso Valhalla Knights on 3.03 OE-C but it won’t play on 3.40 OE-A
have you tried it with devhook?
you compress it? (metal slug laggy when compressed… real laggy even at 333), and i can never seem to get most compessed large ISO (about 1gb) to work anyways if low on free ms space… so try freeing up stuff

I have not exactly the same, but weirdly similar experience with X-com PSX game. It was unstable under 3.40 OE-A and stable under 3.03 OE-C. Three different PSP units did the same thing. Thing is still slow and hard to play, but at least doesn’t crash now.
Thanks for the program! I got 3.40 OE-A and even though right now if you try to update it won’t since 3.40 is the latest firmware, it won’t be like that for long. With this program I can disable Network Update so none of my friends can put the official firmware on it!!!
Doesn’t DAX’s firmware already prevent accidental upgrade? Or am justt not dumb anough to accidentally upgrade?
Just curious but if your friends are so dumb as to update ‘YOUR’ firmware without asking you. Why do you ever let your friends touch your PSP.
Does any body tested this out yet? Until there a mass use of this then i will try. Too afraid to brick my psp. :)
i tested this app and it works. ive only disabled the network icon and camera icon. oh and i really do own both a Playstation 3 and a xbox 360. i got a 120 gb hardrive in my ps3 and yes you can upgrade the hardrive.
What type of HDD? SATA? Did you try it? This sounds like great news to me!
i thought this would help my problem. i have 3.4OE-A on my psp and for some reason the CG in the games seem very laggy the sound skipping. i thought it would be a memory problem but after disabling all the stuff i still have the same problem. I run iso games from a 4gb pro duo stick, any suggestion guys? i apologize if i post in the wrong place
i heard u mostly get this with compressed games try a uncompressed vers
i sort of have the same problem when i play DJ Max Portable 2 iso like sometimes when i play a song the screen starts messing up and itlll freeze up on some of my isos they are working just fine no lagg problems. i got 3.40 oe-a on a white psp so it might be your game. try recreating the iso and maybe itll help.
