Map This! v0.4.99 Beta features support for Sony’s official GPS device (PSP-290).
Installation:
make sure that you:
-install PSP-290 version in /PSP/GAME3XX folder (depending on your OE FW version)
-install Holux version in /PSP/GAME150 folderYou folders must have following structure:
/PSP/GAMExx/
mapViewer/
EBOOT.PBP (get appropriate version)
usbacc.prx (psp-290 only)
usbgps.prx (psp-290 only)
system/
maps/
Introduced in 0.4.99 Beta:
- basic localization support (read and write in your own language!!)
- basic sound (currently just key beeps and “Speed warning” message if preset speed limit is exceeded
- improvements in geo search logic, allowing more relaxed search

I keep getting this error message

OK I had this very same problem
this is how I fixed it..
Load the psp-290 eboot to the psp/game340 dir
THEN stuff the mapviewer in the psp/game150 folder will do it..
Dont forget the directory tree is like this..
You folders must have following structure:
/PSP/GAMExx/mapViewer/
EBOOT.PBP (get appropriate version)
usbacc.prx (psp-290 only)
usbgps.prx (psp-290 only)
system/maps/ ***YOUR MADE MAP***
error msg – could not load. say got usbacc.prx error, so gps disabled. Can anyone do provide a more graphic instructions? Thank you so much.

hay is this a real gps system or just some random dot on the map that moves to random places. cause last time i downloaded one of these things that was what i got.

No, the PSP does not have GPS hardware integrated into it, so you need to buy the PSP GPS. They are not sold in the US so you have to buy it from Japan. Goto play-asia.com and buy from them.
This Homebrew allows you to get maps and use the receiver in the US.

it means when u search an address u don’t have to be specific you can be vague and it will give you a list of close results!!

Been trying to find a reseller for the sony gps but the only once I can find is in Japan, anyone that knows where to get em withing the EU?
They are ONLY sold in Japan at the moment. Who knows when Sony willl release them in the US & EU.

Yes it will work in any PSP available THAT HAS CUSTOM FIRMWARE.

the maps tho.. you’ll have to check if google has detailed maps for your country

do we have to pay for the GPS service?
does it run in english language?

No you don’t pay for any service. you do need the GPS device thou….
as long you have the english version of map this then its english
the only problem im having here is that it kinda takes about 8-15 mins to get all the satilite signals in. I just think it could be my area or its just my gps or psp firmware…
