No topmenu… and yes castlevania does work on 3.30 OE-A i tried it. Topmenus dont work it gives me the same kinda brick as when u use regular topmenus on 3.10 OE. Unless im doing something wrong

I just updated and it worked with the PS one games. Just tested it out on FF8 and Xenogears so for those who are afroad of not being able to play PS games, you don’t have to worry about it.

Because it seems that from the comments of a lot of you, custom icons or “topmenu xmb icons” does not work with this OE revision. And right now, i enjoy the beauty and coolness of my xmb menu. So unless it will have an update that works with topmenu icons, i will not upgrade right now… great work though!

i haven’t seen the different from this 3.30-oeA yet.
it doesn’t support the AVC videos in VIDEO folder. and it doesn’t Support the 480×272 videos …… it says 3.30 OE-A in my system info. but truly nothing’s changed as i noticed … correct me if i am wrong. : )

hmmm , why ohh why are folks upgrading to this ??? i loved 3.03 custom then went to 3.10 on the aparent note that psx emulation was better but actuly was worse ,i should have stayed on 3.03oec .. anyway the only reason i would want to update is for better psx compatibility , something that is still lacking if even worse now.

typical sony are a bunch of fucks with these releases that pose nothing new ,apart from bricking a few folks psp’s in process of pointless upgrade.

the final fantasy series and also res evil games i think are the only main psx issues ,since pops was 1st out …. these issues are still here , yeh yeh theres a few other games but think about it , theres only about 15 psx games not fully working in pops yet sony are still messing about after 4 main updates … sony are taking the piss.

and btw ,3.10 custom does have a few nice features like the extra plugin support and 4 level of light and ie browser …. but we all want full perfect pops ( dont we ) ?

Just one very quickie question! did any of you guys find a way to make custom topmenu xmb icons work with this oe firmware??? please share your thoughts! i have a 3.03oeC right now with cool xmb icons. and i would upgrade to this new oe fw only if it already supports custom topmenu xmb icons… holler back!

Ok guys, to clear everything up with this firmware:

1) PSX Emu works – not only does it work, it add the ability to “reset game” from the select menu. Also, it speeds up initial boot and gives you an option for disc read speed to be “normal” or “fast”. Not sure it actually does anything. There is some disclaimer about it only working on some things. I can personally tell you that FFVII and FFIV (personal favs) had bugs in 3.10 OE-A’ emu. Now they are perfect. FFIV the water in towns was all screwy and FFVII the swirl when entering battles is fixed.

The confusion came from DAX talking about the popstation plugin which lets you use the 3.03, 3.10, 3.30 popstation instead of whatever CFW you’re using. Not terribly useful for the everyday user.
2) All other enhancements are the $ONY enhancements (i.e. picture/video thumbnails), etc.

I have also heard people mention video resolution enhancements. Doesn’t effect me all that much so I’m unsure.

Overall, with the greatly increased compatibility, speed, and in-game reset fixes in PSX emu I think this is worth it.

Dark Alex – Keep up the fine work. You’re still the best and I enjoy my PSP very much thanks to you. P.S. If only my 8 year old son will let me use it more ;-)

因為開了 NO UMD 功能後，就算無 UMD 係部機到，玩遊戲時，「光頭」仍然不斷運作！
所以大家盡可能不要用 NO UMD 功能！

No 4sho you can not, unless you have a 3.11 oe. In the future don’t update, now your best bet is to hold tight and wait for someone to release a down grader

try searching on this web site darkalex made one a while back, but i think thats only if ur psp is half bricked, if its fully bricked then ur screwed. u might want to go in to the threads and ask for help. u might have destroyed ur psp. only thing u can do is buy another one or get a refund. just go back to walmart and say u lost ur reciept and it was a gift. some people even bye another psp then switch there old psp with the one u just bought with the reciept. try that. who knows

HOW TO RECOVER TO 1.50 STEP BY STEP

If you’re on a custom firmware and your psp won’t boot properly anymore you can recover back to 1.50 to fix whatever went wrong. Here’s how:

Download the recovery folder: http://www.mediafire.com/?4zj2ygymnzr

Boot into recovery mode (Turn off your psp completely, hold “R” while turning it back on)

Connect your PSP to your PC and go to Toggle USB

Unzip the recovery folder and place the recovery folder in /PSP/GAME/

Then run the recovery program from the recovery menu, say the magic words… Presto Chango!

Assuming you did everything right, you should now be at 1.50. From there you can Upgrade back to your custom firmware.

fucking noobs do a search. if u cant get in to recovery menue u are fucked over. make shure u know ur right from ur left. turn ur psp completley off then hold the left triger on the top and hold it, then u are in recovery mode. folow the directions above.

Can you play all the new games on the custom firmware or only homebrew. I got the 1.50 and went up to 3.020e then d/graded back to 1.50 cause i could not get the bootleg rips to work only the gba.nes.snes. but n64 would not work properly and still does not. If i have the 1.50 why the hell would i upgrade.

all the noobs that upgrade should just sell there psp for a used one, or just kill there selfs. and about the life and death situation, yes i recomend u downgrade to 1.5, it sometimes causes problems with the psone games not working.

Yes, it had options in the recovery menu, but it didn’t work.

Guess not many people buy UMD movies, but I happen to own quite a few as collection, and some of them are imported but can’t play ‘em cuz of region code….

Installed it last night. Worx like a charm.

My main reason for the upgrade was for the better movie support. It Def has better movie support.

Only issue i had was that the topmenu.rco theme files do not work any more. Seems like they need to be updated for the new 3.3 firmware.

Ive got it running but I cant play any psx games. I put the eboot.pbp and the keys.bin in a folder in the the GAME folder under PSP but it says (The game could not be started 80020148)
Any help would be great. Ive tried it and had the same result on several psx games

I haven’t been able to register my PSP for PS3 Remote Play since 3.10 OE. PS3 simply says no PSP connected although I have enabled the USB connection on my PSP. I thought the 3.30OE will solve this problem, but nope…. Anybody has the same problem and know how to solve it? Mine is a TA-082 as well. Cheers!

I dont know about upgradin from my 3.10oe a to the 3.30 oe a. I’m kinda scared from the half bad and half good comments. Keep hearin some psx dont work and something about the icons. If your a NOOB, and dont know what your’e doing, dont attempt to upgrade.

1. PSX DOES WORK!!!!!
2. Topmenu plugins CAN be used
3. Better Movie resolution
4. T-Mobile Hotspots
5. A few bugs need to be worked out like with any new custom firmeware made by DA.

psp3.30 oe did not work for me is because i had upgraded it to 3.30 before the oe came out or is it because my psp is a version 1001

You cannot run this program from an 8 GB Memory stick – fairly obvious really – I guess it runs in a 1.50 version of firmware which did not support memory sticks larger than 4 GB. Anyway if you try the screeen goes black and nothing happens – it eventually turns itself off.

put the videofiles MSROOT\VIDEOS\MYVIDEO, and this is the files: myvideo.mp4(720×480 AVC converted with PSP Video 9) myvideo.jpg(160×120) and myvideo.m3u(text inside: myvideo.mp4) what am i missing here?!?!?!?

updated from 3.03 to 3.10 and psx games didnt work now i just updated to 3.30 and still psx games arent loading the “game could not be started” error displays. they always loaded on 3.03 and lower but i just cant seem to get them working on the 3.10 + 3.30 custom firmware. Any suggestions???

I was wondering why Dark Alex hasn’t implemented the use of .dax images as well as .cso and .iso seen as he surely seems to have invented the .dax format. Or is there a plugin that you need to perform this operation.

i have an psp with firmware 3.03 OE-C i wanna ask if its possible to updated directly to 3.30 OE-A.. im not sure because i saw someone saying that his psp has bricked with a firmware 3.03 OE-C so can someone tell me if its true or not..

note to anyone that is going to update to this custom firmware…PSX games DO NOT WORK!!! just like they DIDNT work on custom firmware 3.10. ive installed both 3.10 and 3.30 on multiple psps and same result psx games dont work on them. when you try to open them an error message displays saying that the game is corrupt. best stick with 3.03 for psx games and if you wanna use any features on say 3.10 use devhook because custom firmware 3.10 and 3.30 DO NOT PLAY PSX GAMES
