CisoPlus 1.0.5 Released

greg | April 5, 2007

kapoue3 has returned with a new version of the enhanced CSO converter tool, CisoPlus! Version 1.0.5 enables threaded estimation (with the -est_mt flag), as well features support for a similar DAX technique of placing audio and/or video files in non-compressed areas to help reduce lag during game play (see the [media] argument).

The [media] argument can be set to:

  • 1 — for audio files in NC area
  • 2 — for video files in NC area
  • 3 — for audio & video in NC area
  • 0 — to ignore (as the “basic” ciso)

Examples:

Best compression: cisoplus -com_MT 9 99 0 infile outfile

Reduce lag: cisoplus -com_MT 9 0 3 infile outfile

why can’t people just save up some cash and buy a 2gb or 4gb mem stick? then you can put full umd dumps on you mem stick, none of this CSO shit…

lots of people like cso because of the space that it saves. there are games out there that should be left in .iso because they lag but the percentage of those games out are very few. ou of all the games that i have downloaded none of them lag and hince i like cso. even if i had a 4gb ide still put them in .cso to save a shit load of space. id like to stuff lots of games in my memory and still see a huge number in free space left.

Dude, you’re comment is pretty retarded… I DO have a 4 gig, but I’d rather have 4 full games in CSO format or 3 games and some extra music/videos than 2 full games in ISO format… So you’d rather just have the 2 games?

I have a 4GB… I still put all my games in CSO. The space it saves is worth a bit of lag.

most cso’s work fine, and save a lot of room.. some games, however, are better left in .iso. GTA:VCS for example

fuck you and fuck your cso compression… this shit lags and takes longer to load iso vs cso… just saved me 200mb. this aint worth for laggin and loading times… who gives the fuck about compression if you play the game while it lags?

Say it to Booster. The Cso plugin inside the custom_firmware is slower than the iso plugin. You cannot have both speed and small file.
If you read carefully the help, you will see that CisoPlus use DAX’s stuff to reduce lags.
