hey are there even any games that use any of the newer firmwares? TMNT just came out and it’s still on 2.82
also, it seems like the PSP was really a scaled down model of the PS3. So far though I have yet to see any really cool hacks for the PS3. Is this because Sony learned from their mistakes and made it harder to hack, or is it because it’s a bigger system and will take longer to write homebrew apps for? I need to know, because I really want to get a PS3, but only if it turns out to have the same level of functionality as the PSP, with homebrew apps I mean…

thats true at half… new firmware = more memory usage but it is in flash memory no in RAM the emulator or homebrew in general uses RAM just like games.

2) IR Controller function implemented in XMB.
3) WiFi Sniffer style of realtime environment scan implemented in XMB.

4) Make a homebrew PSP internet explorer with full support of directly streamed contet and flash (Superfly cartoons – here I come).
5) Please make PSP able to connect to and use any data storage device using USB just like a computer does. That will be better for people than 32GB Mem stick support.

because firmwares arent released in numeracle order. they dont go fw 1.00>1.01>1.02>1.03. because that way isnt sufficient. they find it easier to go call out the fw randomly they can go anywhere from 1.00 to 1.99 firmwares are named upon however they feel like calling it. ony time the first digit is changed is when a major feature is added. an example would be when fw 2.00 was out. because it featured wifi enternet.
Accually it is set up if the main digit is changed (ie 2.xy > 3.xy) it is a major update like wi-fi internet or ps-3 connectivity. I the first digit after the period is changed (X.1y > x.2y) Semi major normally a couple of small changes maybe a new format for movies or so. If the last didit is changed (x.y1 > x.y2) it is very minor like security revisions only. This is how it done for any type of program with updates like a game client you download will have a version number on it if you go to the updates page you will notice a major addon when the main digit changes the bigger the gap the more that was changed between those two updates. Therfor they dont nessacerily have to go 1.01>1.02 or 1.10>1.20 but the will fall in numerical order. just a little of info for yall

If you have a 3.11 PSP the answer is no. In order to upgrade to an OE firmware you maust have either a 1.50 PSP or a previous OE firmware install like 3.10 OE. If and olny if a downgrader is released for the 3.11 will you beable to go through the process of updating to 3.30 OE

My opinion in regards to the release of DA’s latest firmware would be to release it. I personally would not update right away, but would make sure that there were a number of successful upgrades. The reason I think it should be released is because…even if DA were to wait to release it, there would still be a number of bugs in the firmware that would require a patch of some sort. Until it got into the hands of many people, we wouldn’t know where all the bugs may lie. By releasing the firmware earlier, it would act as a Beta.
What a good advices for someone tthat is willing to try out the firmware after he makes sure his PSP won’t brick after others took all the risks for him… Hè buddy, with an attitude like that you should have upgraded to the official 3.30. If things screwed up your PSP, you could have blamed Sony and claimed warranty.

im hoping that that “bonus” is added video support for more common formats (anti-sony formats). Sony has a history of being stupid with audio/video format restrictions in its products.
Sony Lost the VHS-Betamax war (even though betamax had a few advantages), then all their newer audio players required .at3 formats and the only way to convert to that was to use highly buggy, poorly designed, and overall crappy programs
and now the psp is stuck with more crappy video restrictions, but at least Sony has learned something and at least allows .mp3 for audio (now if they could only get the rest of the wax out of their ears and listen to its customers)

no kid, dax is working on an oe update not a downgrader. what you are looking for is a downgrader for 3.10. currently there is no such thing but not to worry a downgrader might come out for 3.10 or 3.11 in like a month or two or maybe never. the fact of the matter is do you research on the net and dont upgrade to a sony official update.

no not at all just update to 3.30oe from there. just like me im going from 3.10oe to 3.30oe assuming that this new firmware is “good”.
No … Just Restart your psp then go to the Recovery Menu and set your Kernel mode to 1.5 … restart your psp and install the new FW (3.30OE)

well one of the things that would be great would be to play umdmovie iso’s. i have a couple and only way ive been able to play em is with UMD_Emulator. which doesnt load with the current oe versions

you dont use filer to ripp mvies u use filer to boot non mp4 movies on the psp. and movie in iso format???? strange never seen an .iso movie only .mp4 and so on. my guess is your a little confused with your programs.
correction, filer is a program that is used to move files around the psp’s memory stick without the use of a computer or usb cable. plus i think your talking about another filer program nvm. its me who is confused about there programs. but still a .iso movie?????????? ive only seen .iso games
