PSP Evolution — The Latest Mod from Acidmods

I’m not entirely sure what to call this mod, “PSP Evolution” perhaps… But damn, it’s undeniable wondrous… Coming from the experts over at Acidmods, F00 f00 has managed to engineer the following:
Basically the analogue nub has been modified to act as the dpad, and the dpad has been replaced with a ps2 style analogue joystick. The left trigger is pushed by pressing down on the stick.
I also added a few leds an a clear back plate for style points (as always i got my clear parts from coolmods.co.uk)

very nice mod! This would keep my hand from crampiing over a long play time. The position is much more natural for you to grab the psp with your palm.
Pretty nice mod, LED’s are bright! (i love blue LEDs)…….remember ppl, these are hardware mods, useless or not, it’s a hardware modded psp and the psp still works.
i like it but i think that it will blow your battery
they are leds… hardly take a thing to run
LEDs run forever on a regular 3volt CR2032 battery dude, compared to a sony battery, it’ll last as long as game play. And if you didn’t know, the back light of the PSP LCD (the part that makes the PSP LCD light up, consists of 5 smaller hyper white LEDs at the bottom. I know and seen it because I’ve taken a broken LCD PSP apart to fix and replace the cracked LCD.
I wouldn’t use my psp at 333 cpu speed with this mod
it will get anoying after like 5 min
Not to modders or few ppl who are used to blue LED’s (like me), but yes sometimes the brightness keeps me awake at night, and there comes the idea to have a on and off switch somewhere.

Sorry to re ignite this debate, but I’d like to throw my opinion out there. First off Maiden are a great band. But that dose not mean there are no other great bands or music out there.
Everyone should take the time to broaden there musical experience. People who only enjoy one genre of music have no imagination.
I listen to practically all types of music, I’m also a guitar-teacher and play all kinds of music. But the one type of music I just cant stand, is hip hop. Call me whatever you want, flame my ass and so on but I wont change my opinion about hip hop.

they did do it with the analog and they changed the d-pad to the analog they swapped the positions of them.
what did he do to the right side of his psp where the x square circle and trianle buttons are i couldnt see it because of the really bright LED

I am not sure if you have seen my last video, but this is the same psp that conects to a ps2 controller. I use that for emus. I love playing psx games on there :)

Look who’s talkin. A mod is a mod, it’s not affecting you or the shit that you crap out ever hour. This is what hardware modders do shitwipe. They try things out that can’t be done by others and another thing is that this mod is for FPS games or to relieve the thumb of getting cramped because of the other smaller stock analogue stick. It’s a hardware mod done to the psp without messing up it’s functionality.

Well.. while it looks cool, I have two problems with this video/mod. A. It’s not very portable friendly having a huge stick coming out of it.. considering the PSP is for just that, portable gaming, the mod is not very practical. Still, if you find yourself using it at home mainly, then it has it’s perks. But my main problem, b, is that the video significantly lags behind the stick movements. Are we sure it is actual gameplay and not a video being replayed and “mimicked”? It just doesn’t seem to add up, no matter how repeatedly I view the video :/ Anyone else notice it?
