Firmware 3.30 has been available for a few hours via Network Update; now here are the official changes from PlayStation.com. Feel free to also fetch the update EBOOT below.
Be warned, upgrading will render your PSP incompatible with homebrew.
Game:
- Support for PLAYSTATION®Network titles has been expanded.
Network:
- Support for thumbnail images of items has been added under [RSS Channel].
Video:
- Support for thumbnail images of videos that are stored in the “VIDEO” folder of Memory Stick Duo™ media has been added.
- The following types of files can now be played in the “VIDEO” folder.
- MPEG-4/H.264 AVC Main Profile (AVC CABAC) video files of the following sizes: 720 X 480, 352 X 480, or 480 X 272
- Depending on the data type, some files cannot be played.
Settings:
- [Use Wireless Hotspot] has been added as a feature under [Network Settings].

a few hours ago the new update 3.30 was avalable on network download and a few hours later 3.30OEA was avalbile to download HAHAHAHA! u know it will happen. go DARK ALEX!

Also, Don’t bash Sony plz…They’re doing their part as a corp to put the security updates through, but also putting work into new features. So Sony F/W + DA’s contribution = Sexy PSP for us. :)

finaly i was about to sell my psp and hopefully sony will send out new games cuz im getting bored of metal gear portable ops and Dark_alex please crack this thing fast i dont have web browser on my psp theres something wrong with the las OE i just wanted to wait for the next one

holy sh** 720×480- vids….
Nos sure what is so impressive about that. The PSP screen is 480×272, so anything larger than that is just going to consume more space on the memory stick, and just be downscaled on the screen anyway.
I’m watching full-screen (480×272) now with homebrew.
nothing too exciting on this release, i thought they added video compatibilty for a second… guess its just a dream.
Face it sony will never give up these days but still it might have some things different that i would like to see in a custom firmware

the only reason why there isnt a 3.11custom fw is because the changes were so minor it was pointless. dark_alex did however make a plugin for popstation since that was the only thing worth paying attention to.

Dont get too carried away now noobs what makes yall think that DAX is going to release a firmware for 3.30. I dont think yall have figured this out but cracking these security codes isnt as easy as you all think. Dax cant just snap his fingers and create a 3.30 like nothing. Besides he already gave us a fully working psx program how many more things can he give us right away.

yea i have made a downgrader for 3.11 i just dont know how to let outher people download it i used an old downgrader and changed a file so it would work on 3.11 to some help of the deycripter

Well iam running 3.030ec. and like it lots. Now take ur time DAX or other hackers to hacks this firmware to make it good like 3.03oec as that is a darn good CFW better than 3.11 CFW.

Ya, but you might have to modify your flash or something… I don’t know exactly how you could change it but with XFlash you were able to, but it isn’t compatible with 3.03 OE-C, but I think there’s a program called OECustomizer or something thats made just for OE and you can do that (I think).
and i dont know if the downgrader works yet i have 3.03 oe-c and i dont even wana update so i will downgrade my frends whean he gets back from spring break
1) vshctrl.prx is where you’ll find that, and you should know this if you made a downgrader
2) ask for a beta tester on the forum….there’s ppl always asking for a downgrader there, so release it and see the attention you get…..
until then, basically bull-shit being as you have no creations [to my knowladge] in the homebrew community and i have never heard of you before…
is there a version of psp video that supports the 480×272? I assume there isn’t support for 720×480 yet

I really hope DA makes a 3.30 OE, because I really hate having to put my full-length movies (which are in the weird AVC format) into the 100ANV01 folder with the weird filename where I can’t even tell what it is from the filename… If that happens, it will be worth it for me to update and lose topmenu icons in my opinion.

Ps. cant wait for the next gen of psp that I hear rumors is going to have alot of internal flash memory. Which was sony’s first mistake when making the psp….. Uptades will end soon for the psp since the psp is lacking internal Flash0.

well stupid me i got pissed at my computer so i compleatly destroyd my mouse so well i cant do much right now im useing my keybord as a mouse and if u think im bullshittn there also than just say so n ill tell u how i use my keybored as a mouse i gata use my frends mouse 1ce he gets back… fudge…. yea they want tester downgraders? cool ill have them try it out and i did make it i just use some 1s project and fixed it so it uses a prx for 3.11 but i have a question i have an idea where a downgrader that u run as a update (pbp) and it (downgrades it) in a all in 1
It’s not that simple, be happy we can downgrade through exploits we find like GTA and TIFF exploit, because if we could only downgrade by running an EBOOT.PBP, we would NEVER have a downgrader, trust me.
