Hexaxis XXI Alpha Release
greg | March 20, 2007
Update: Quick update…
- Added Up key for fast down
- Game Over when you hit the top (and reset)
- Added More dice sounds.
Grab it below.
Another eye-opening PSP homebrew game… Hexaxis XXI comprises fantastic graphics, cool music/sound, and the addictive game-play you’d expect from any great puzzle game. Currently lacking is the high score table, as well the “score” and “multiplier” text in the upper left isn’t as pretty as the author (Timwillhack) desires; check back for updates after the NEO homebrew competition. In the meantime, have fun!

Controls:
Directional Pad: move dice left, right, and down (no up, it’s like tetris)
Square, Circle, Cross, Triangle: rotate the grid
L and R Triggers: zoom in and out
Select: Exit Game
There are many videos on YouTube showing off its coolness. Check ‘em out.

FIRST COMMENT YEA GREAT GAME
Sweet!!!!!!!
wow that really is fantastic graphics for a homebrew :D
It’s Devil Dice’s main concept, minus full directional control, plus Lumines’ “wipe bar”.
Some of the sound effects were taken directly from Devil Dice, it seems.
Not trying to knock it, it’s actually pretty fun.
I wouldn’t advise the author to try and sell it, though.. there might be some copyright issues.
sell it, it is homebrew dumbass…meant to be free
No, none of the effects are rip offs. I made the dice sounds myself with a piece of marble and a bottle of sam adams!
I paid DaZ: http://www.myspace.com/dazdicks for that song, that he made from scratch. The PC game has 17 levels all the music is unique and paid for.
Its way harder than devils dice. Especially currently the pc version because you are forced down, and you have to match up to all the sides not just ‘6’s that I and anyone whos ever played Devils Dice would do.
I also in the PC game have very cool and advanced Multipliers, to make it last a hell of a lot longer play time than Devils Dice. Basically I took everything I’ve liked from all my fav puzzle games and made my dream puzzle game.
nice
Wow…that looks great Tim. Add in the ability to play your own mp3’s too. I know alot of people wanted that for Lumines 2 but didn’t get it. Can’t wait to give it a whirl.
Cheers
nice visuals
That looks awesome. You should have a donations box; people would definitely show gratitude for this one. Also, you should be doing this for a living, if you don’t already:)
homebrew’s are meant to be free, but i dont mind donating though….the PC version looks SWEET, psp version kinda weak, any updates soon?? the game looks more interesting than lumines and most other puzzle games, looking forward to next release. mad props.
Any updates soon? I made 4 updates yesturday, and that was day 3 of my deveopment!! I will get the psp one further along and way the hell better. I just didn’t have the time, so I focused on what I thought should be done in time for the NeoFlash competition deadline.
Thanks all!
P.S. I put up a donation link on my site: http://www.darksoft.net/hexaxispsp.php
GOOD JOB ………I 2 was impressed with the graphics for this homebrew game ……..Do u do this for a living ? It sure looks that way from the visuals and concept, merging of ur fav puzzle games!
dont have a psp anymore but this is a great example of the talent the homebrewers really have im tottaly impressed by the graphics and this would be a must have at least to test it great job by the people who worked on this project! much respect!!
I am the one responsible for this project. I wrote it and made it all myself. (Except the actual Dev kit)
I learned how to code it in 1 day and coded for 2 days to see what I could complete for the NEO competition.
I am currently unemployed but would love to be picked up by some developer or something similar.
Thanks all for the good feedback!
looks good, but dont understand how 2 play
Very cool game Tim, can’t wait to see the preview-dice added to the psp version! heh, you should email Microsoft about adding this to the XBL-arcade too.
Hey guys, if you like it, could you please vote for it in the NEO competition?:

I would very much appreciate that more than a donation. To have a 1st place in a competition is a much better honor, than cash!
Thanks
Tim
