Custom Firmware 1.62 Increasing Edition A Update1
greg | March 18, 2007
Update: Although I’ve seen no reports of bricking, its been advised that you DO NOT upgrade to IE A Update 1. Download has been removed. See source link.
becus25 has released the next iteration of custom firmware Increasing Edition — 1.62 IE A Update1. You may recollect “Increasing Edition” from previous PSP Hacks coverage; it’s a great, light-weight, firmware alternative for the PSP. Its technique for customizing the look & feel of the PSP XMB is stellar too!
General functions:
- Hide corrupt icons.
- Skip Sony logo.
- You can start not xploited eboots.
- You can start modules.
- Contains two recovery menus. If it does not detect one it loads the other.
- ** You can change the speed of CPU from VSH/XMB . (press HOME+SELECT to change speed).
- ** In software system puts “version 1.62 IE A”.
- ** Recovery and the XMF estan now fused. (I have no idea what this means…)
Recovery functions:
- You will be able to recover the PSP of semi-brick.
- Usb available.
- You can personalize XMB
- You can have three styles of icons of the XMB in the MS and change them from recovery (in this version, this setting is disabled, but in other versions will be enabled)
- ** You can activate/deactivate Autoboots (put the autoboot on \psp\game\boot\eboot.pbp ) from recovery without any kept configuration file.
- ** Recovery mode, this structured like a menu.
** signifies new feature

yay first post :) uhh, i still dont think that this beats 3.** OE- ?
great work keep up the custom scene man! if i buy a new psp i will upgrade to this custom fw as my another psp have 3.03 OE-C…
You should upgrade yours to 3.10 OE-A’
not worthy
First off, great work on the custom firmware! My question is, why this rather than 3.10 OE? And, does homebrew work as well on this?
it can make your ps3 look pretty?
Appreciate the work – but new PSP games wont work on this firmware.
nice job! keep up the great work!
sweet but i still want to play games that require certain firmwars
give up
just kidding maybe someday you can get close to 3.xx oe
Damash and bxpapi and Midian
You all should appreicate the work.. I know making homebrew and crap is hard and all you all have to do is download it and the programmers get nothing from yall but b.s…. APPRECIATE..
THx alot br0
is that i dont find the point of this now
all that hard work for nothing
he should had done 3.62-a or something like that
i would be the best if 1.50 was out
but we in 3.10
1.50 is the past
and devhook is the past, so y? go back
the coding is different. why not try to make a 3.63-a yourself and tell me how hard it is to code. it’s not going back, it’s trying something new.
good shit though. mad props for trying.
Nice work. Nice amount of features. The only thing i dont like is you have to run devhook to play the new games. BUt its nice to start seeing more CF out there. Great work to all the ppl working on this
Fuck you noobs bragging about 3.10 oe-c it’s the same shit as 3.03 oe-c
Haven’t tried it, but it’s nice to see another CFW. Who knows what the future holds. Maybe the author of this CFW would team up with DAX and the other heavyweights to crack a future Sony firmware. Keep it up Becus25!
just saying that the part about, “** Recovery and the XMF estan now fused”, estan, to me sounds spanish which means “are” so the dev could be saying “Recovery and the XMF are now fused”,
Pointless.
haha sony ceo
Sega CEO wii own your games!!! HAHAHAH!!!
I am the author of the Custom Firmware. Not update to this version. It will cause brick to your psp. You read here: http://www.becus25.blogspot.com
I need to somebody with a UP. My beta tester dropped their PSP and it broke. The last version of my custom firmware caused many bricks, and I need to test with the new update. Post here if you want to test.
Why would i use this as compared to a real firmware like 3.xx OE? Why cant the author help with that project by providing modules and other enhancements instead of trying to promote a now dead firmware use.
jas, your a fuckin idiot if you think 3.10 OE-A’ is the same as 3.03 OE-C. There are a shit load of differences. You have no right callin people noobs if you dont even know the difference. Now your a noob+an idiot
well you all need to imagine when they do get up to the 3.10 custom firmware they will be superior because of the fact that you can mod your xmb at the click of a button in the recovery and this guy is coming out with much faster releases then dark alex…
this doesnt brick your psp. I tryed it and it didnt brick. maybe what some ppl think that caused a brick but didnt is an option in the recovery menu. if you enable one of the option in the recovery menu(i forgot what option) and you dont have those files on your psp then the psp wont start amking it seem like a brick but you can still enter recovery and disable the option, and makes the psp work again
Becaus25, you did good, but if you’re trying to beat Dark Alex, give up. There will be no programmer that will make a better custom firmware better than him. 1.50 is dead. Face it.
Wow look at that a custom firmware with not one but two recovery menu’s and it still bricks your psp. Now that’s saying something!
plz help. i installed this and now the only thing i can do when i reboot my psp is go into the recovery menus. how do i go back to the regular xmb menu and remove this fireware?
