CISO Converter Plus! v1.0.4 Released
greg | March 18, 2007
The last we heard from kapoue3 was with the release of “Yet Another CSO Compressor” (Yacc) GUI. Now kapou3 presents something new in CSO compression, CisoPlus!
CisoPlus! is a command line tool which enhances BOOSTER’s CSO compression/decompression methods. The concept remains the same: shrink ISO images to save some precious bytes on your memory stick. As per the included changelog, you will notice new options which define the Plus-factor…
- there are still the original compression/decompression functions of Booster
- there is a optimized compression version for all CPU
- a simulation mode to estimate quickly the final compression rate without writing the CSO (up to 10 times faster)
- a new option: threshold which allows (as Dax) to increase the size of the CSO slightly but reduce the lags during the game (e.g. GTA). This option gives as good results as the DAX and the CSO can work on custom firmware or devhook without plugins
- a special optimized compression for DualCore Cpu owners. It can be twice faster than the initial version.
Ideally CisoPlus! with integrate easily with any CSO front end. To see the program’s full usage, pass the “-fullhelp” argument. i.e.) from Windows command prompt: “cisoplus.exe -fullhelp”

nice job kapoue3, its lookin pretty good!
Luckily I have a dual core PC so I’m gonna use this.
so i can use this engine with YACC gui?
the next version of Yacc should use it :)
Not yet, there are already CSO and DAX in Yacc, the next major version will use CisoPlus. I just want to wait some comments about CisoPlus before including it in Yacc
how to use this ? i dont have a dual core pc.
You don’t need to have a DualCore to use CisoPlus. But if you have a DualCore and a fast HDD, the compression is really faster
I can’t figure out how to use this… can someone help? When I double click it, a box just pops up for a second and goes away… I’m guessing I have to type something into the command line to get it to work, but what should I type?
find MS-DOS Command Prompt in your startmenu under accesorries, and find your way or put the .exe where your command prompt starts.
Thanks, sounds great!
I have a dual-core mac which runs Win XP through Paralells dekstop, I wonder if it will go faster than on my PC…
@PSP: This might help. Type in the command line: cisoplus.exe -fullhelp
With this you will get all the syntax as well as all the other options you can use with this application.
how do i use this??
It’s a command line tool. You have to open a MS-DOS prompt to use CisoPlus. It’s the same as for ciso.exe or daxcr.exe
Sweet………Once I figured out how to us it, it works very nice and yes a log faster but does not compress any better at least on the -com_MT comand! Thank You!
I cannot change the compression algorithm because the CSO will not work on the PSP. Don’t forget that the zlib compression used in CSO gives very good results compared to a very fast decompression time (the PSP have “only” a 222mhz cpu)
