HideMov Beta Released

Got some videos you need to keep secret? You don’t want your girlfriend discovering how sick you truly are… And for that reason alone, we know exactly why you’re downloading this plugin.
The first release of “HideMov” is for OE custom firmware and permits you to hide videos from appearing under the XMB’s video menu; that is until you enter the program’s button combination to unlock these files. When enabled and your PSP boots the video menu will report, “There are no videos.” Enter the correct key combo (found in Readme.txt) and they’ll become viewable.
WARNING! If you’ve entered the video menu while it’s in one state (shown or hidden, and then you switch it, nothing will seem to have changed if you immediately open the video menu (the PSP cache’s it). To “update” the video menu, just go into the memory stick option of another feature (such as game, saved games, photo, etc), and the cache will be cleared! (Thus the video menu will have updated) I’m trying to find a way around the problem
Currently you’re unable to set a custom key combo and the module can potentially be disabled, so don’t underestimate your mom’s PSP knowledge quite yet. I like to call it security through obscurity.

Doesnt work, atleast not for me… when enabled my psp doesnt boot up, just stays black like its bricked…

Same here I’m using 3.03 OE-C firmware on a PSP-1001.
I enabled it and it makes my psp hang on boot up. I turned it off booted into recovery and disabled it and then psp boots up ok. It’s the beta version, I think we need the developer to work on it more and second needs to tells us what firmware version he tested it on. I think it’s just not working on this version. What version of custom were you guys that got it working running?
Update I disable the only two plugins I have which are the SVC capture prx’s and my psp boots while the prx for this one is enabled. It however does not appear to be functioning as the keys suggest. MS light flashes but videos still remain.

Woa… Tried it on 3.10 OE A’, didn’t work (it just went black and the XMB would not boot, disabled it, unistalled it AND MY UNREAL TOURNAMENT III TRAILER WON’T APPEAR!!!)

what this did was rename your MP_ROOT folder to MP_R00T (notice the difference b/w 0 and O) just load your memstick in USB and rename it back to ROOT and it will work fine

What the?? this is a stupid module. Even though useful, it isnt functional. What it basically does is rename your MP_ROOT folder into MP_R00T. You can change the directory renaming by opening the PRX with notepad. Simple crap.
the only problem i found is that when the PSP realises that there’s no MP_ROOT folder anymore, it seems to take liberty in making a new one…. now when the module finds that there’s another MP_ROOT folder in existence, it can not restore your old one.

we do need this for pictures, but what needs to be done is they need their own folder for movies and own for pictures (perhaps the file send/recieve folders instead of normal pic/video folders) that way we can have actual pictures/movies to show to anyone and have the hidden stuff that we can access when needed
i think the reson this dont werk 4 some of u is cuz u place ur vids **coff** **coff** porn in the foldor called video but why not just make 1 tht changes names of video n pics den u can keep all of ur porn secret hehe
B-E-A-UTIFUL. Now on school trips I can watch as much (pr0n) as wanted and if sum dikhed grasses on me I can easily hide it, without deleting as I have had to do in the past, just lovely.

ok so u install it then a new folder is created called MP_R00T while you old one is MP_ROOT
so wat u do is delte your old on and rename the new one with O’s instead of zero’s then it should work fine
