ZX-81, perfectionist & master of the retro emulator domain, has updated his PSPAtari port to v1.0.6. PSPAtari mimics the classic Atari 800, 800XL, 130XE and 5200 models.
What’s new/fixed?
- Multiple keyboard mapping feature (Thanks to Pou-chan): You can now toggle between 3 different keyboard mapping using LTrigger and RTrigger keys
- Add help menu
- New background image
- Bug fix in Rom file requester
- Bug fix in screenshots
- Bug fix in keyboard handler

many of us grew up with 8-Bit Atari. For some of us who left the scene in the late ’80s, its great to be able to check out all the later games and demos released in Eastern Europe.

i played the mario on DOS for the first time on my win95 all those years ago…lol. its crazy now that you can play it on your psp too.
as for ACTUALLY playing games like on your psp…well, i prob won’t for a long while.
but i don’t think anyone would play this game to beat it…only to perhaps pass time on the mellow, you know? I mean..its a 8bit game..>_>…not much concentration needed. lol.

My question for Zx is, where/how do we find roms for this? I *hate* being one of ‘those people’ who asks about roms and I’m not expecting any direct responses on where to actually find them, but usually I have found that they are just listed as “Atari” roms, so how do you differentiate the regular 2600 series roms from the ones you would need for this? I would really love to find a copy of Donkey Kong. The version they made for this system was GREAT. I used to love playing all those cartridge games when this came out.

umm, thats all he does. its WHAT he does, and he’s really damn good at it. if you think the stuff from that time period is worthless then go somewhere else. if you keep bugging the guy he’s not going to change his mind about what he likes doing and start working on things YOU want. if anything he’ll just leave the scene and then we’ll have one less person willing to constantly develop free apps for us to play with. if thats what you are hoping to accomplish then you’re just a total ass. either that or you’re just someone who hates the homebrew scene and wants to ruin it with shit like this.

@the people being rude and etc, your obviously not that eductated and i would like to see you do any of the stuff zx-81 can do, its not easy- i’m pretty educated myself, common sense and all, and i know i could never come close to do anything like this partly cause of my health but anyways, if you enjoy doing this zx-81 keep on doing cause there is thousands out here on the net that love your work, i’m one of them =) anyways good job! i cant say thank you enough these games bring back happy memories
