PSP Volume Bar Modified

greg | February 21, 2007

NIGathan has shared a modified “impose_plugin.rco” which contains a new volume bar styled to resemble that from Windows Media Player 11. Another great mod to unique-ify your XMB!

PSP Volume Bar Mod

Snazzy! For those wishing to create their own, grab a copy of ZiNgA BuRgA’s RCO Icon Editor and modify the corresponding .rco file (impose_plugin.rco). Remember to create a backup first!

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK!

wow, is there anything you can’t modify?

Actually yes, you still cant install OS on it…

Modify. Sticking microLinux or something isn’t exactly modifying, it’s a complete reflash.

But yeah, that’s tight. More custom, more fun.

@ michael

If you don’t have a custom firmware u cant do any of this. In other words, if you updated to the Official Sony firmware 3.11 you are screwed and have to wait a long time till some makes a downgrader for it :(

2007-02-21 12:19:50

go to recovery mode/advanced/flash0…..
then look in vsh/resource folder & replace (after backing up old) impose_plugin.rco with the modified one……..you should always back up old file first, and make sure your new file asks if u wanna overwrite, if it doesnt check again!!

I’m a little surprised to see a rather uninspired and generic custom volume bar make the front page.

This has been being done for weeks, and many much cooler volume bars, battery icons, XBM icons and background waves have been made and uploaded onto several forums.

This is hardly front page material.

I’m hoping that by going into the recovery mode and then go to usb to put the recovery folder in my game folder will fix my problem.

i made my own BMP (all black) but when i set the PSP to use the BMP for the background, the wave isint there.

how can i fix this?

Comment by NIGathan
2007-02-25 22:18:47

you have to get the bg 01-12.bmp split/merge program and edit the normal background pictures and just keep it the same size and color it black

I did it! I fixed my psp! Wheuuu! I basically put that recovery folder in my game folder, then i ran the recovery mode via the usb and then its back to 1.5 again.

Comment by NIGathan
2007-02-25 22:21:15

you didnt have to go all the way back dow to 1.5 all you had to do was enable USB(flash0) and copy the original impose_plugin.rco back and click on exit and if you named it right and put it in the right place then it should boot up like normal
