PSPRadio 1.1.1271 Released

greg | February 12, 2007

Video certainly didn’t kill the [PSP]Radio star this time ’round… For all the PSPRadio fans tuning-in worldwide, homebrew developer Raf has dropped a new b-b-b-b-build. Two quick notes: USB support is not yet working, and if a plugin stops responding, try holding L+R+START to return to PSPRadio.

On to the good stuff…

New features:

  • (raf) Core+UI Plugins: Added Skin selection support to PSPRadio (finally). This can be accessed via the Options menu (skin option). -Optimized.
  • (raf) Plugins: Added a version check system. From now on, plugins will only work if designed for the same interface version of PSPRadio (in this case 1.1).

Bug fixes:

  • (raf) Plugins: Plugin unloading work-around implemented. Root cause still under investigation. This means plugins can now be loaded/unloaded, switching between user interfaces works, etc.
  • (raf) Core: Added skins made by Albatross. Thanks, Alba!

Known bugs:

  • (raf) Core: USB is not working, menu option removed for now (With AhMan’s help this will hopefully be working again on the next version)
  • (raf) Core: Static IP connections don’t work correctly. Seems the gateway is not used as it should.
  • (raf) Core: Module unloading doesn’t free up all memory correctly. Even though plugins can now be loaded/unloaded, the PSP can eventually crash as it runs out of memory (after loading/unloading enough times; even though I switched back and forth between the text and 3d UIs over 20 times, and everything worked fine).

Download: PSPRadio v1.1.1271 (with extra skins)

Thanks Raf!

You need to run it in 3.X mode, so don’t put it into the GAME150 folder… if you’re using 3.10OE (and have your game folder homebrew set to 3.10 Kernel in the recovery mode configuration) then you just drop it into your GAME folder. If by chance you have 1.50 Kernel set, then you’d drop it in your GAME310 folder.

Damn people, I’m freaking brand new to the PSP homebrew scene, read some tutorials instead of asking people simple questions!

Again like all the rest of the PSPRadio releases, it always says “Error: Couldn’t resolve host” or something like that when I try to listen. Also, There is no way to add custom stream URLs which is lame.

Its freezing cos you have it in the wrong folder.
Make a folder called GAME303 and put it in there if your in 1.5 kernel. If your in 3.03 kernel put it in the GAME folder.

Works fine for me…

this looks cool but do you need an access point for the radio?

Comment by Onorok

Yeah, you need an access point. I’d love to use it on campus but they have a stupid security thing setup that my psp can’t connect through, shame shame. Oh well, good while at home and just want to listen to some random music.

Awesome player! Can’t wait for some future, more stable releases.

I believe if you use PSP radio with the Links plugin you can get psp radio to work. Basically use Links to go and log inside the protection (a http website right?) with your supplied username and password. It will allow you to use the WIFI based on either MAC or IP i dont know (just as long as you dont reinitiate the wifi connection process), an allow access to the internet thereafter. Worked for me long time ago, but i havn’t tested it throughly.

Does anyone know if PSP radio supports(or is going to support) the format “AAC Plus v2″. I’ve used PSP radio long time ago and dont know where it currently stands. But it would be hella sweet, you could have 10 hours of music in 100mb and it’ll still sound pretty decent.

will this work on 3.11 if so when i try to run it, it gets to the psp screen then says this game canot be run
help im a noob at this

No, it won’t.

You have a 3.11 which is unable to run homebrew. You can’t downgrade either I’m afraid.

Hope and pray for a 3.11 downgrader, but it could be a very long time coming. Until it does, you can’t run *any* homebrew, you can’t install the excellent OE firmwares either.
